Morning Meanderings….

It is Thursday and I have a hankering to do a little of Word Verification Balderdash which is featured every Thursday over at Ryan from Wordsmithonia’s blog.  I have stopped participating in many memes mainly because it creates so many posts and I do not wish for my subscribers to groan at the sheer weight of their in box when I pop up yet again with something else to say.  😉

So….

I am going to place my words within this post so as not to create another post… and i simply have to play because some word verification is truly, too good to pass up:  (these are actual word verifications that I have had when commenting over the past week):

sucktart:  I imagine this is what the Red Queen from Alice In Wonderland would say when she is extremely angry. (I also imagine her large bulbous head would be quite crimson at the time this word is uttered).

Raxes:What’s that Scooby?  Oh yeah…. you are right… it is that time again”.

You want to see the master word verification balderdash player – go check out Ryan at Wordsmithonia blog words… he cracks me up weekly.

Word Verification Balderdash: My Thursday Thing

This is my weekly meme of the great word verification we that make comments on blogs have the annoyance pleasure of typing again and again….  (I have missed this the last couple of weeks but now I am ready to roll again)!

I know it is a necessity…  I get that.  You leave a comment, chances are you going to be word verified.  Yet being a comment junkie… it slows me down.  So to make this a bit more enjoyable… I came up with a plan.

I love word games (not as much as commenting).  To entertain myself and maybe some of you… I decided to share with you a little thing I do while I type in the verification.  I play Balderdash in my head.  Yup.  As I am typing in the word, I think if it was a real word… what would it mean.  Some come easy.  Others…. I really have to stretch the imagination.

The definition of Balderdash: An oft used strategy  to elect your own fake definition in an attempt to give it credibility in the minds of your fellow players.

Cercula:  Dracula’s half brother who has an inner ear infection which causes him to run in circles…. thus taking the fear factor away from potential victims as they can just…. well…… walk away.

Revent: When one becomes so upset about something they have to just get it out so they vent about it.  Then…. hours later, something triggers  this anger  again and causes one to revent.

Promila:  Godzilla’s sister who is obsessed with going to the prom.  Always worried about her breath and working on shining up her scales.

Gaspr: Casper the Ghost’s annoying cousin.  Due to Gaspr’s asma…. he is always trying to get in more air and creating breathy noises that really can ruin a good night of haunting.  Since Casper is the friendly ghost, he often is the one chosen to hang out with Gaspr.

Yes…. I know that for the most part they kind of theme today and I have no idea why… LOL.  Perhaps I watched too much tv as a child… 😉

Wanna play?  I hope you do!  Write your post, feel free to take the Balderdash meme and them comment here with your link to your post.  I will add your link here so others may stop by and see your words!

Berbarch: The latest in Berber products!  The powers that be at the world of All Things Berber Carpeting Co.  LLC, are excited to open their newest division in Berber wear…. Outdoor furnishings.  No longer is berber just to be enjoyed inside your home.  To kick off this line they present the Berbarch… that’s right folks…. a gorgeous archway for your back yard covered entirely in berber.  Wont you be the envy of your neighborhood!  (Order now and you will receive a set of free Ginsu Knives to cut loose the cat when she is caught in the berber archway.  😉

ok…. ok…. if that definition is too far fetched… here is an optional one…

Berbarch: The Berbers of Africa date back 4,000 years.  (Google it – this much is true!)  The Berbarch is the well known expression that a Berber would give to another berber when they believed they caught the other in a lie.  While the berbers are a gentle people and accusing is against their very nature… a well lifted brow, in an arch, so to speak, was enough to let the others in the Berber Tribe know that they were calling you out on your elaborate story.  Sadly, the berbarch often led to the berbfist.

Ishsushi: Yup.  Self  explanatory.  Ish.  Sushi.  😉

Burgbut: What happens to one who eats way too many fast food burgers.  😉

So I invite all of you to take a closer look at those annoying… err….. wonderful word verifications.  Do they sound like they could mean something?  If you used them in a sentence could you fool people into thinking they are real words?  If you share in this love of words and word games, please let me know here – and if you make a post feel free to grad the Balderdash meme and let me know so I can link others here to yours!

Remember – have fun!

balderdashThis is the weekly meme where I encourage anyone who wishes to play along to take those crazy word verifications they have had over the past week and create a fake definition for them (much like how you play the board game Balderdash).  This is all in fun and makes commenting on blogs a bit more interesting when the verification may just give you the best definition of the week!

See original post here.

Concab: The latest ring sweeping the east coast that consists of ex cons (or are they?) that fake as taxi drivers and take unsuspectiong tourists out into the city and take all their cash and occasionally all their gum too.

Worster: Hill Billy talk for when things are worse than worse…. I mean really bad…. the worstest.  😉

Baraid: The latest standard addition to cell phones!  An automatic number programmed into your phone so that even a random stranger can grab your phone and dial it to connect with that poor unsuspecting friend who is your emergency ride home when you have had too much to drink and can not drive yourself home.

I would love to see what you come up with!  To do your own, simply grab the picture meme and add it to your own post.  Link back to this post and leave a comment here letting my know you have and I will add your blog post to this one so people may see other participants.  Let the fun begin!  :)

Word Verification Balderdash: Guest Blogger: Ryan from Wordsmithonia

aI just wanted to say a quick Hi to everyone and say welcome to Word Verification Balderdash.  This is Ryan from Wordsmithonia.  This has to be the funnest weekly meme for me as it allows me to do two of my favorite things, comment on other people’s blogs and play word games.  So when Sheila asked me to host this weeks edition I jumped at the chance.  I love seeing what fantastic words everyone comes up with and find myself wishing I could work them into everyday conversation.  So feel free to play along and make us laugh out loud.

Note from Sheila:  I was hoping to be able to add some words this week but being gone has made that not possible.  Please take time to stop by Ryans wonderful blog as he always has incredible words that make me smile!

Baderdash fans… this fun meme is for you! I love word games (not as much as commenting).  To entertain myself and balderdashmaybe some of you… I decided to share with you a little thing I do while I type in the word verification.  I play Balderdash in my head.  Yup.  As I am typing in the word, I think if it was a real word… what would it mean.  Some come easy.  Others…. So what do I have to offer this week?

Deminem: The new “it” jeans designed by Demi Moore.  These jeans are all the rage and seem to make your body look years younger and firmer than you are!  Only $150 a pair but truly a miracle material!  Just ask Ashton….

Etradr: A new movement common in big hospitals now where patients can request a second opinion and the Etradr can pop in and reevaluate.  This is believed to have been triggered by such companies as Geico and Progressive Car Insurance.

Wambaa: The ancient dance of the lost Wam tribe.  Last sighted in the  1880’s, the tribe was known for its “up and happening” moves that seemed before their time.  Dance moves involved sliding feet backwards to the beat of a drum and wagging their heads and arms.  Later, this period became known as the 80’s.

Pather: A person who is great at breaking trails.  Any good hunting group or camping pals should always include a Pather.  Perhaps if a Pather would have been present, the whole Friday The 13th thing at Camp Crystal Lake could have ended differently.  😉

Feel free to join in!  Grab the Balderdash box here and use on your own post.  be sure to let me know in the comments that you have done this meme and I will link you this post so others may stop and see your words as well.  🙂

Word Verification Balderdash – My Thursday Thing

Yes!  I am back!  I missed the last two weeks due to crazy schedules and as I have blog hopped this week I was excited balderdashto see others who do this meme kept on going!  YEAH!  Love that!

So for those of you just tuning in… here is what we do (and you can too!)  As quoted from my original post:

Ok… I admit it.  I am a comment junkie.  I love – love ♥ LOVE  ♥ to read blogs, the discussions on books, author interviews, bookshelves, great bookish stories and adventures….

but along with loving to comment comes the ever dreaded endless… (dun dun dun dun…scary music)

word verification.

And here is my list for this week:

CLOOBDINE: A social network originated in Peru.  People gather around their computers and “virtual dine” together… sharing what they are eating and using abbreviations for food related events.  IE.  “B”  for burp.  “EM” for excuse me.

LAGAZES:  A new drug just becoming FDA approved to assist people who suffer from chronic lagging.  These people are always a bit behind and have no motivation or desire to catch up.

CARCHIC: Finally a word for her!  She is that girl that can do just about anything from her car – apply makeup, eat breakfast, style her hair, talk on her phone and make all her appointments for the day, mix no bake cookies for the school bake sale, and is packing two changes of clothes for emergency events (such as a sporty outfit to cheer the kids on and a dress up outfit for emergency meetings)  All of this while looking smoking hot.

KIJACK:  The unfortunate new theft ring for off shore criminals.  The act of stealing kyaks.  People who are victims on kijacking are usually knocked out of the kyak and left to swim to shore where if their cell phone survived the water bath, they call for help.

Feel free to play along at home, here or on your own blog.  You can even take the little picture meme I made if you like and use it.  Link your words here in a comment and I will add you to this post so other readers may go and check out your list as well!  🙂

Word Verification Balderdash (The Thursday Thing)

GAH!  Something must be wrong with me… I keep forgetting to do this and in my head I thought I needed to post it balderdashtomorrow.  I think I am going to get more organized and actually prep this ahead of time so Thursday mornings it will be like “TA DA!” Already there.

Baderdash fans… this fun meme is for you! I love word games (not as much as commenting).  To entertain myself and maybe some of you… I decided to share with you a little thing I do while I type in the word verification.

So here is this weeks contribution:

Perminia: A perm that is all the rage in Europe!  It is hair designed to look like a flower.  Very popular is the rose and carnation.  For a bit more moola you can go all out with the begonia which is pricey – but gorgeous!

Hednesti: Italian for morning hair.  😉

Poneater: The newest game for the PS2… your kids will love it!  This great chess style game actually has an upgraded peice called the poneater that will of course, eat your pawn.  The pawn is normally considered the weakest peice in the game but the poneater adds a whole new lever of excitement.

Equatic: A person who really just flips out if they things are not fair or equal in all circumstances.  “Traci just went totally equatic on me when I said that Carol would get first choice on the theater seats.”

There you go!  What are yours?  Leave me a link here and I will gladly add you to this post!  Have fun!  🙂

Word Verification Balderdash (my Thursday thing)

Hey all…. as you (my readers) know – the past two weeks around here have been a bit more crazy than usual with balderdashBBAW (WHICH ROCKED!!!)  and the addition to our family for awhile (the amazing 14 year old Chance).

So – while I am still working on getting things back to semi normal around here…. I am finally posting the all important and fun weekly meme of Word verification Balderdash.  (If you have not followed this fun post yet – please look here to see how to play).

The definition of Balderdash: An oft used strategy  to elect your own fake definition in an attempt to give it credibility in the minds of your fellow players.

I dont have a large offering today – but here are some fun ones I could play around with a bit:

presic: the feeling you have moments before you get sick… like you know it, but you are not sure… and then….  well… you know!

Chewsee: Being choosy about what you chew… like “I really am chewsee about Extra Gum”.

pairer: Someone who matches people up – like a dating service.

exestrot: Something not very nice that you wish on your ex boyfriend/girlfriend

So there is my weak contribution this week – hopefully some of you will have great ones to add!

Remember if you do this – leave me a link here and I will add you to this post!  🙂

Not a huge offering this week – I have been busy and found that yesterday I had hardly captured a thing!  Here is what I have:

crudt: that residue found at the bottom of the cup (coffee, tea) afte you have finished drinking it.

exend: a false ending to a not so good  book.  You think well.. its over.  Then you turn the page and are shocked to see there is more.

BELT: Not what you think… BELT is the new and improved BLT, but this one is Bacon, EGG, lettuce and tomato!

lefeet: A much politer french version of saying you have two left feet.  Rather than, “Dude!  You got two left feet! Har Har!”  It is much nicer in french as they say, “Oh, Madame…. lefeet?”

Want to play?
