It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

1

Who knew a meme could be emotional?

It’s Monday is back for the first time almost 5 months.  As we enter fall, I want to bring this meme back and so appreciate all of you who have hung in there with me and even kept posting It’s Monday and mentioning Book Journey.  When I did see the meme on some of the blogs I visited it was a nice feeling.  Thank you.

This meme is used to share what we read this past week and what our plans are for the upcoming week.  It’s a great way to see what others are reading and add to your own To Be Read list.  You never know where that next great read may come from!

Here is what I posted this past week:

Did You Ever Have A Family by Bill Clegg

Banned Book Week is coming- check out details here!

The Seventh Most Important Thing by Shelley Pearsall

The Night Sister by Jennifer McMahon

Weekend Cooking – Apple Butter..fairly simple and delicious!

This upcoming week here is what I am listening to and reading:

1

My book club is reading Gone With The Wind for October, our Classic Month.  It is a first time go around for me with this book and I am enjoying what I have read so far.

5

I have always had a bit of a fascination with Steve Jobs and all he accomplished.  Looking forward to this one!

An anxiety disorder disrupts fourteen-year-old Audrey’s daily life. She has been making slow but steady progress with Dr. Sarah, but when Audrey meets Linus, her brother’s gaming teammate, she is energized. She connects with him. Audrey can talk through her fears with Linus in a way she’s never been able to do with anyone before. As their friendship deepens and her recovery gains momentum, a sweet romantic connection develops, one that helps not just Audrey but also her entire family.

This one sounds fun.

That’s about it.  I am in between Audible credits so waiting anxiously for my new credits to show up in about a week so I can put audio back on my phone.

What are you reading this week?  What did you read last week?  I look forward to seeing what are the books everyone is talking about.  Add your Its Monday What Are You Reading here where it says click here:

  1. So glad to see your meme back in business. Gone With the Wind made my favorites list when I finally got around to creating it a few years ago. And now we just moved to Gonewind Drive. Seriously. I hope you enjoy it!

  2. I’m so happy you feel the time is right to return to IMWAYR, I’ve got 5 audible credits to use as my library has had an influx of new audio books … lucky for me lol. hmm better think quickly about banned book week. Happy reading Sheila 🙂

  3. Welcome back, Sheila. I’ve missed this but I’m glad you took the time you needed.

The cover of Finding Audrey reminds me so much of Where’d You Go Bernadette! I usually try to post a week’s worth of Banned Book Reviews but I don’t think that’s going to happen this year. After taking about 7 weeks to read Shantaram, I just need to read some easy, light stuff for a while! Enjoy your week!

  4. Lovely to see this back Sheila! I had a great reading week last week and have started this one off on the right foot as well. I’ve still got your review to “Did You Ever Have a Family” marked to read.

  5. Sheila, I’m glad you’re able to start getting back into this since you’ve been wanting to 🙂 I’ve never read GONE WITH THE WIND, but my daughter-in-law has and just loves it 🙂

  6. It’s so nice to have you back, Sheila!

You know, I’m not sure I ever read GWTW. I’ve seen the movie a few times and loved it, but I can’t remember actually reading it. I hope you enjoy it.

    Have a great week!

  7. I’m so glad to see you’ve brought this meme back. I’ve kept up with your other posts and keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I’ve never read GWTW nor have I ever seen the movie – it’s on my list and one day I will get to it. I somehow still have my 2 audible credits…I think I ended up buying extra one month and now have excess. I’m sure they will be gone soon, though!

    Have a great week!!!

  8. Thanks so much for the reminder about Banned Book Week — I forgot it was coming up! I’ll be interested to see what you think of GWTW. I read it when I was about 15 and fell in love with the book and Rhett. Don’t know how I’d feel about it if I read it now. Still love the movie, though.

Happy reading — hope you have a wonderful week!

  9. I’m so glad you’re back and feeling up to this commitment! I love GWTW, I’ve read it about 10 times since I was 12. I bought what turned out to be a first edition for 10 cents at a barn sale! I was very into reading, of course, and loved the old look of it. I knew nothing about editions until my aunt checked the frontispiece.

  10. Welcome back! We all missed IMWAYR so much!
I’ve read Gone With the Wind twice. My mother had a hardcover copy with tiny print and two columns of print on each page, not sure why except maybe to save paper? It was a very old copy but unfortunately she has passed and I don’t know what happened to her books.

I think I’ll try that apple butter recipe from yesterday. Apples = Autumn, and sounds yummy.

  11. I’m so glad to see this back on your blog! I’ve been checking every now and then and hoping you’d bring it back!

And – I’m glad you’re enjoying Gone With The Wind – I loved it when I read it a long time ago and wonder how I’d view it now. May have to re-read it at some point.

  12. Interesting you mention Gone With The Wind as my mam has recently read a book that tells the story from the point of view of the maid.

Busy reading The Sleep Walker’s Guide To Dancing which is this months book from my reading group. Not impressed so far, fingers crossed it will improve.

Hmmmm... what do you think?
