Hey there! Welcome to It’s Monday, What Are You Reading!
I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! As part of this weekly meme I love to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme. Fair warning… this meme tends to add to your reading list! 😉
Banned Book week was last week and I started out here AMAZING… and then puttered out by Tuesday with just too much life stuff going on both day and night. Thanks goodness to the wonderful bloggers who linked to me to also chat up banned books. They carried me this year:
Posts that did make it up:
A link to all the banned book posts and giveaways that linked to Book Journey this week
Lord Of The Flies review and giveway
The Great Gatsby Movie thoughts – a banned book made into a movie
Good Bye Harry Potter – a book that is banned… and a song
Attempted Book Banning – In MY Home Town
I did THIS At Our Fall Book Sale… Oh Yes I really Did
YOU Choose My Next Read and YOU win that book!
I am still finishing up banned books this week.. in the middle of three… yup three. As I am tired, I am going to leave it at that and ask you to link your Its Monday What Are You Reading to where it says click here below 😉

I am behind on reading the Banned Books Week posts this year. I will have to see all that I missed!
I need to go through them one more time too 🙂 I like to see what people are saying 😀
I usually do a Banned Books Week post or two but didn’t this year. I did consciously read graphic novels since that was this year’s focus.
Thats cool – it would have been cool to have a Graphic Novel review!
Enjoy your new week!
Thank you Laurel you too!
Looks like some good posts there to check out. Good luck finishing your banned books reads!
Thanks – they are good… just need to finish them up 😀
I completely get the ‘life getting busy’ thing… I did however LOVE that you camped out for the sale!
LOL right? That did not help my tiredness since I did that at 4:45 am the day of the sale.. but it was fun and people laughed 😛
I hope you have more time to read this week!
I should Kathy – All my evenings are free this week and I am soooooo glad!
Enjoy your new books . Some good reading there.
Yes! I have plenty to read for sure 🙂
Looks like you had an interesting week with Banned Books week. Love your camp out too!
Enjoy your books and reading this week.
It was too full a week to get as much reading done as I had hoped but still a good week 😀
Luckily I got most of my Banned Books Week stuff read and reviewed by Monday night. I wanted to finish and review The Awakening for one last post on Saturday but I just didn’t have time to write the review. Oh well. I’m calling it a head start on next year! Enjoy your week!
Next year I need to do the same – prep my reading in case our book sale falls on those same dates.
my book of choice this week is Ken Follett’s Edge of Eternity
Is this for my other post Ruth? 🙂
i “petered” out on Banned Book Week too. I really wanted to get involved and read or reread at least one book. Might try to win your copy of The Lord of the Flies by Golding. Have a good week.
I will finish the books I started for Banned Book Week – just too tired to read this week. Be sure to put your book choice on the post that is offering the books 😀
I just finished the funniest book: Village Books by Craig McLay. Got it as a Kindle freebie. I had grand plans for GWTW for BBW, but read Village Books and The 39 Steps instead. Have just started The Ivy Tree by Mary Stewart and have Book Thief sitting here for next. Both are library books and the Mary Stewart is in extremely rough shape, but the only copy in our system
Sounds like some great read and Book Thief is a Banned Book 😀
I love the fact you post so consistently! Hopefully you get more reading done this week.
For me, I’m aiming to read 4 books (up from my usual two or three)

happy reading 🙂
Thank you! I think consistency is important to maintain your readers. Plus… I just LOVE chatting books 😛
I’m impressed with all you have posted this week on your blog–definitely a busy week. I just don’t get why people are so frightened by books they disagree with. I find that books are a safe place to explore dangerous ideas.
Well put Kay – books are just that. And those that are younger as long as they have parental (or adult) guidance to help them choose books and answer questions there is no reason for any book to be attacked.
I usually do a banned books thing, but was too busy (and traveling too) this year.
OOH traveling! 😀
Have a great week, Sheila!
Thank you! You as well Yvonne!
Ha I love that you camped out for the used book sale!!
Thanks for hosting Banned Book week – I always enjoy reading everyone’s posts and taking part in it myself. 🙂
Another great week for you as always. Love your “sleepover.” 🙂
Just in time for Halloween! 😉
Hope it’s a quieter week for us both. Happy reading 🙂
