This is the weekly meme where I encourage anyone who wishes to play along to take those crazy word verifications they have had over the past week and create a fake definition for them (much like how you play the board game Balderdash).  This is all in fun and makes commenting on blogs a bit more interesting when the verification may just give you the best definition of the week!  See original post here.

So here is what I have:

seend: When you hit the send button on an email and it takes forever (forever being 5 seconds as opposed to the 1 second we are used to)

“I am so sorry Mrs. Johnson that you have not received that email… it is still in seend mode.”

Mythman: Much like Super Man but this dude creates Myths… and he has a better tan.  🙂

“A long long time ago up in the mountains of Alaska there lives a creature, at least according to Mythman….”

Catera:  Equal rights for cats.

Mittens now eats off china dishes and always gets first pick of the fish dinner because of  the Catera.

relicat:  a cat that you know darn well has used up more than its nine lives yet haggard looking, and missing one eye, it still keeps on going!

Purexeo:  A spell used used by Harry Potter to get his shirts their whitest!

Even with the crazy busy week that I had… I think I came across some fun word verifications.  Here are mine:

vellmen: men who enjoy all things velcro.

nomed: when you have worked in your garden for so many long hours you feel as though you may be a permanent fixture there, much like a garden gnome.

magrabb: The incredible inner knowledge a mom has when her child is about to do something dangerous.  They do not even have to be looking at the child when the mothers arm juts out and grabs them before they step off the curb into the street, before they fall off the swing, fall down the steps, etc… it is such a quick movement you rarely see the actual grab until the child is back to safety.

prophy: Trophies that are only given out to professionals.  Very snooty.  Very coveted.

bugons: A bug (usually found when you are camping, or in some sort of woodsy environment) that latches on to your clothing and will not let go.  Sometimes they are mistaken for an actual part of your clothing.

That’s a Novel Idea

Last week I posted about a little word game I enjoy while posting comments and entering the word verification that many comments on line require.  Word Verification Balderdash was born.  You can check out last weeks post for more details and I am encouraging anyone who would like to play along to please do!  🙂  You are welcome to use my Balderdash button here and post your creations.

Here are my favorite 5 word verifications from this past week with my made up definitions.  Yes, these are actual word verifications I had while commenting on blog posts:

Corypon:  A fancy mustard created by a guy named Cory.  (Say it with a snooty voice, “Please pass the Corypon.”

Anted:  When ants invade… the kitchen, the garbage, picnics and beyond.  You have been anted.

Ducto:  Duct tape in Spanish

Unitie:  A reversible tie in the event that you spill something on the one side.

Prepread:  That books that is “next in line” waiting to be read, but something always seems to come before it.

Ok… I admit it.  I am a comment junkie.  I love – love ♥ LOVE  ♥ to read blogs, the discussions on books, author interviews, bookshelves, great bookish stories and adventures….

but along with loving to comment comes the ever dreaded endless… (dun dun dun dun…scary music)

word verification.

I know it is a necessity…  I get that.  You leave a comment, chances are you going to be word verified.  Yet being a comment junkie… it slows me down.  So to make this a bit more enjoyable… I came up with a plan.

I love word games (not as much as commenting).  To entertain myself and maybe some of you… I decided to share with you a little thing I do while I type in the verification.  I play Balderdash in my head.  Yup.  As I am typing in the word, I think if it was a real word… what would it mean.  Some come easy.  Others…. I really have to stretch the imagination.

The definition of Balderdash: An oft used strategy  to elect your own fake definition in an attempt to give it credibility in the minds of your fellow players. …

I am going to share a couple with you… and if you like… feel free to play along at home, here or on your own blog.  You can even take the little picture meme I made if you like and use it.  I think this may just be my Thursday thing. 😉
