Every once in a while I see something on Pinterest and I think, “I can totally do that!” This would be one of those times…
I seen this Harry Potter ornament and thought of Justin right away (My Harry Potter geek and accomplice son). I went out and bought the paint, brushes, clear ornament… seriously how hard could it be?
I covered my table with newspaper and supplies.
I spent one day alone putting on coats of the beige and letting it dry overnight.
Then I spent the next day working on hair, glasses, and the scar… letting it dry.
And then I tackled the scarf.
The results?
Yup. I call him “Sumo Harry”. His face is too wide, glasses too thick… he looks like a sumo wrestler. LOL….
So…
project put away… I have another plan… an easier one… 😉
Have a SUPER Christmas Eve everyone! My son will be over in a few hours and I am happy to spend the day with him. We may take in a movie, and tonight we are having pizza… keeping it low key for the plans for tomorrow. 🙂
Your ornament made me laugh. So cute! Joyous holidays to you and yours!
I should have taken a few pics when Justin seen this post…. I showed it to him and he laughed so hard he was crying. 😀
You did a great job on Sumo Harry! My plans for tonight are to watch a few Christmas movies and then watching Into The Storm, which I’ve been wanting to watch since it first came out but have been saving it for tonight. We are having pizza tonight too!
Merry Christmas Eve, I hope you and your family have a very Blessed Christmas!
Into The Storm is so good – enjoy Vicki 🙂 Merry Christmas!
Ok, that was my laugh for the day… It’s going to be tough to beat Sumo Harry. Good thing I wasn’t drinking coffee when I saw it. 🙂
Have a great evening and a Merry Christmas. Low key plans here tonight too… but tomorrow is a big family dinner.
Right??? On my gosh… I gave up right then 🙂 Merry Christmas!
Oh my…
LOL. Yes!
Merry Christmas Sheila. Cute ornament.
You are too sweet Diane 🙂
You made me laugh too! That ornament is definitely a keepsake!
I didn’t give it to him.. just showed him the post. He laughed so hard but thanked me for my efforts 😀
Adorable! I am sure it will be appreciated. Merry Christmas.
LOL…. that version of Harry will not be leaving the craft bag I popped him into 😀
You know, he DOES look “sumo” lol I think its because of the black on the top of his head 🙂 And what I don’t understand is why they would tell you to use a clear ball or anything slick. Paint doesn’t stick well to it. Something that has drag to it would’ve been easier. Anyway, it’s such a cute idea! 🙂
Right, I should have waited until I put the silver topper on his head… anyhoo… the laughter this thing has caused has probably far outweighed the effect he would have had if he was a good looking Harry… it was fun to try 😀
The laughter is a much better “gift” than any you intended, I’d say 🙂
I agree 😀
It’s great Sheila! Hope you’ve had a very merry Christmas 🙂
Thank you, I did and Merry Christmas to you 🙂
Ha!!!!!
Right??? It is determined that I am not really “crafty.” 😀
