Mmmmmm Morning. Mmmmmmm COFFEE.
I can not believe it is almost the end of June. I just took my bike in yesterday for it’s spring tune up. What the…. I feel…. behind.
June is audio book month. Did you know? If you have been around here, you knew.
Anyhoo…
I actually feel bad that I did not mention something earlier this month… I just found out myself a couple weeks ago… but still I should have share….
Sheila! Get on with it already!
Right. Have you heard of Sync Audio? They are giving away two free YA audiobook downloads a week from May 15th – August 13th. I know… I know… we both have missed out on a lot – HOWEVER it is SUPER EASY to do because I did it. And they worked beautifully!
First…
I downloaded OverDrive® Media Console™ (available for every major desktop and mobile platform) on to my Kindle Fire. (As you see here you can also download it on your phone, your laptop…) Then from my Kindle Fire I popped over to the Sync website, logged in and downloaded the two audio books they were offering this week.
Super EASY!
Super COOL!
The audiobooks are only available for one week, but once downloaded onto your device they are yours to keep. This week I downloaded:
Give them a try – they are free and it is a great way to either try audio books or grab a few great titles for us audiobook lovers.
I am on my way to the cabin this morning. Meeting some people to look at our roof. It is a long drive – 3 1/2 hours but I am excited for a few audio book choices I will be taking with me. I shall be back late tomorrow afternoon.
In the meantime, be sure and check out the audio book posts from this month – commenters are going into a drawing for a $25 gift card:
Please watch this site for June audio book related posts like this one. For every post you comment on in June that has this audio book symbol:
I will put you into a drawing for a $25 book certificate for each comment (Barnes and Noble or Amazon – your choice). Winner will be drawn in July.

Appreciate the heads up thank you. Your choices look interesting.
They offer two a week Mary, this is the current weeks. I have read October Mourning before… true story. I am curious about how it will be on audio.
Thank you for posting about this! I liked ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ and I’m interested to see what else Matthew Quick has up his sleeve! I’ll have to see about what else Sync has to offer.
Ahhh… thanks for that Sam! I did not pick up on the fact that it was the same author!
I’ve seen this before but I always struggle getting downloaded audios onto my phone.
It worked slick on the Kindle Fire… I listened to a little sample last night. The only downloads I have tried on my phone are form Audible and those have been awesome too 🙂
Do you have an iPhone?
It should be plug I. Phone, open overdrive, hit the transfer, then the files will pop up and transfer – they should show up in the music icon under audiobooks (unless something has changed with most recent update)
Thanks Dee 🙂
Hmm, if I have overdrive (for library books, audios) do you think I can download to that?
Very generous of SYNC audio to share with readers!
Mary that should work!
Same program that your library uses 😉
Excellent!
I’ve gotten some good books through this program – the hungry games was on it a couple of years ago and Rotters (YA horror) was one of my favorites last year
OOH – never hear do f it but sounds interesting!
I downloaded Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock last night. It’s been on my TBR shelf for a while. My do I love free stuff.
I am excited about these free downloads – I am always up for more audio 😀
Right now I’m listening to Cruel Beauty….I think it was their week 2 giveaway. If you plan to keep the books and you’re downloading the books to an IOS device, be sure to download a copy to a computer. Last fall when Overdrive did an update to their app the books were erased and not recoverable.
Good to know! I put mine on my Kindle.
I’ve never really listened to audiobooks, but I took your advice and downloaded the overdrive app to my kindle then the free books from Sync Audio. We’ll see how it goes…
OOh I want to know what you think Rose!
They’ve had excellent choices this summer. Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock was wonderful.
Thanks for the reminder! I did this last year and really enjoyed it! Heading over there right now 🙂
Sue
SYNC has been a mixed bag for me – as a commonwealth country I haven’t been allowed to download several that were key choices for me.. frustrating. I needed a trip stateside to have been able to get them =)
