Holy smokes… where did the time go? Here we are creeping up on 2014 at break neck speed and I need a moment to look back over the year that is… 2013.
Join me please for a walk through of 2013… the best moments (maybe a couple “UGH” ones) … shall we begin?
January
Best books of the month:
The Midwives Tale by Sam Thomas
The Gilly Salt Sisters by Tiffany Baker
It was also the first 5k of the year which was an obstacle course called The Ice Man
February
March
Six Years by Harlan Coben (rumors are this one could be a movie!)
7K run for St Patricks Day… it was like 20 below zero – SOOOOO COLD!
April
The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult
May
While We Were Watching Downton Abbey by Wendy Wax
Return To Sullivan Island by Dorothea Benton Frank
June

Wine and Words – 1st Annual Brainerd book event
8 posts. I had 8 posts in August. WOW. An all time low. I had the camp bike ride, then a week of working at the camp, then a mud run, then Wine and Words.I guess that explains August. I read…. nothing.
September
October
Yes I read, but nothing I would consider “the best of”
Ladies Night Out – Halloween Style
November
The Husbands Secret by Liane Moriarty
City Of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
City Of Glass by Cassandra Clare
City Of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare
Mmmm hmmm…. had a bit of a Cassandra Clare episode. 😉
December
City Of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
I read a lot of older titles this year. And I really lacked in the summer months. I am hoping 2014 will be a fresh start. I am really looking forward to the New Year 😀

I am looking forward to 2014, too. 2013 was not my best reading year at all! Some months I don’t think I finished anything…
I’m incredibly honored to see my novel on your list! Thanks so much, Sheila!
Isn’t it great to look back and remember the lovely books? I see several on your list that I loved: Looking for Me, The Husband’s Secret, Me Before You, The Storyteller, While We Were Watching Downton Abbey….and I have Quiet on Sparky, ready to read soon. Enjoy the New Year.
The Storyteller made it on to my list of favourite books in 2013 – I can’t imagine how it wouldn’t make it on to anyways list who has read it! I’m glad you enjoyed The Husband’s Secret because I’ll be reading that in January as a book club read.
2013 was like a blur… I wish you all the best for 2014!
🙂
Bits & Bobs
Sounds like a fruitful reading year. I haven’t read any of them but many of them are on my TBR list, or even waiting on audio for me to find time for listening. I love your montage of Bookies Queen Event. What did you use to make it?
Looks like you had a great year in books and events! Me Before You is making it on several best reads lists. Including mine.
Quite an interesting year!
Have you read Clare’s Infernal Devices trilogy? I preferred it to Mortal Instruments. The setting and characters were both wonderful.
The world of the Shadowhunters is just so vivid and magical, whether based in Victorian London or modern day New York.
Great post! I wanted to love The husband’s secret… I’m not sure why but it fell flat for me, You have inspired me to find my top 5 reads (or something like that). I have been making changes to my blog (did you know you can buy awesome templates on etsy for $20-30?!!
Happy New Years!
Looks like you had a great November.
It looks like you read some great books! I bet it’s hard to read with all you do!
A couple of your favorites will be on my 2013 favorite list too. May 2014 be just as much fun!
What a fun, fun post! You are so active — good for you for finding a balance between your offline life and your blog/online life.
A year in reviews, very nice. This is great! I’m snagging your picture (with link-back)

What a GREAT “Year In Review.”

What a fun year! At least there were audiobooks to keep you going in the super busy months. 🙂

i am exhausted just reading about those running events. think I need a little lie down to recover
Looks like you had a fantastic year! Looking for Me made my “best of” list, too. Happy New Year!
