Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We did here! Did a little eating, did a little shopping, watched movies and just spent time together.
For my Saturday Snapshot today I thought I would give you a little update on the adopted dogs. Sammy, was a stray and came to live with us in April:
In July, we rescued Mater who was abused:
Sammy is Lap-so, and Mater is art beagle and part basset hound, “A Baggle”. 😀 As you can imagine my house went from a quiet home with just Al and I and Bailey (our 14 year old Schi-tzu) to a BUSY house with Sammy who they believe was 1 1/2 when we got him, and Mater who was 4 months old when we got him.
Mater made the biggest changes to out home. He grew fast. He is extremely curious. In the last 4 months he has taken food off the kitchen table, went through a “running through the house with a roll of toilet paper” phase, 3 pairs of shoes, perhaps most painfully – 10 books, and a lot od saying “MATER!” when he plays non stop.
Sammy and Mater are buddies, although Mater is a year younger than Sammy, he is three times as big as Sammy now.

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday. Justin, College Son, goes back home this morning. I have a volunteer fair to help out with for a few hours this afternoon and a few hours tomorrow. Other than that, I get to hang out at home the rest of this weekend… get a little exercise and catch up on my challenges from 2012 so I can post about what the plans are for 2013. 😀
Awww cuties! I have a full blood basset and she’s a handful! She likes to steal tissue/toliet paper/anything. It’s such a hound trait! LOL
Have a great day!
I have never had a mid-size dog before…. I am a small dog girl, but Mater really grabs my heart 🙂
Ha!! Those last couple of pictures could have been taken at my house too!! the dogs rule the roost for sure!!
Oh yeah – its like having little kids in the house again…LOL
What sweet photos! I really miss our sweet Milou and still look for her all the time.
I bet Kathy, I did that with Elmo for a while after he was gone too…. *hugs friend*
They are so adorable! Thanks for sharing the snapshots…and for visiting mine.
I am trying to get back to visiting blogs again Laurel…. control of my time …. I hope 😀
Yup, I always say in my next life I want to come back as someones pamper house pet. So CUTE!
LOL – it really is the way to go Diane, as long as you get into a good house! 😀
Aren’t they delightful? (Well, except, perhaps, for the destruction of the ten books!)
Yeah the books was a bit annoying but they were all old ones I had picked up at garage sales and did not have in the book room (which has a door I keep closed 😀 )
Awwwww, playful puppies. Fortunately they should grow out of the destructive phase.
Right! 😀 Ummm…. how long is that? 😉
Dogs do keep you on your toes and busy but you gotta love them! Love the sleeping photos!
Its liek they own the house or something… 😀
Cute dogs! Don’t know what I’d do without my baby!
Here’s my Saturday Snapshot
They keep me hopping!
Sweet pictures! Mater sounds like a handful but I’ll bet he is a sweetheart. So glad you gave them both a home and that they have fun together.
Oh yeah… he likes to be loved on… I think he thinks he is little like my other two instead of the 50 pounds he really is! 😀
Aren’t they gorgeous. My husband had a dog when we first met, but I’ve always been a bit scared of them ! My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/zAoio
I have always had dogs growing up…. love having them around.
Bear With Me…love a good dog story ending♫ Happy Weekend♥
Same to you 😀
I didn’t realize Mater was so young! He’ll grow out of (and be trained out of, of course) some of that mischievous energy. So cute!
Thanks Hannah, he was rescued at 2 months old and lived at the veterinarians until they got him to full health. Born in March. He has been through so much but shows no signs of it now 🙂
Which is awesome!
Love the pics of your canine family and the green background too!!
Thanks Lori… playing with the blog again 😀
You’re very sweet to rescue these pups. And I just want to squeeze your baggle 😀
LOL…. I love calling him a Baggle!
They are both adorable – I love that you have taken in rescues and strays – so many dogs need a good home.
They are so cute! Too bad about the book losses though.
Our daughter has a beagle. Buster likes to sleep next to me in the sofa. And barks a lot to anyone who walks in front of the house.
Very nice photos.
Okay, I want a Mater! Seriously, they are both adorable, but that Mater really tugs at my heart strings. He’s worth the trouble, isn’t he? 😉
They’re both so cute. They may have had a rocky start, but they’ve landed on their feet at your house.
