It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Welcome to It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading!  This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I love being a part of this and I hope you do too!  As part of this weekly meme I love to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme.  I offer a weekly contest for those who visit 10 or more of the Monday Meme participants and leave a comment telling me how many you visited.  **You do not have to have a blog to participate! You receive one entry for every 10 comments, just come back here and tell me how many in the comment area.

Since I was out of town last weekend I never got the previous winner posted so this is the two week ago winner and this past weeks winner using random.org (because that is how I roll!)

Last weeks winner: Mardel from Rabid Reader

Congratulations!  Please choose a book or bookish item from the Reading Cafe!

:D

It’s been a crazy week and even now I am still tired.  I wont bore you with the details I will just say that my week and weekend were extremely busy and still tonight I am feeling like I have sand in my eyes.  Saying this, the unimpressive week I am about to post is this:

Hobbit Book Club – have you heard about this?

Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller

Wonder by R J Palacio

Yup.  That’s it.  In fact as log as we are confessing here… I have not read one page this week.  Nope.  Not one.  Even today I say with a book next to me all day to pick up and I just never felt like it.  I am hoping as we move into this next week that will change.

With that being the case, I am not going to post any new books/audio foe this week.  I have commitments Monday and Wednesday evening and will be out of town Thursday and Friday for a Library seminar and will take a book with me there since this will involve one night in a hotel.

So lets get right to the – What Are You Reading part of this!  😀  Link your own post below – I am curious… what did you read last week… what will you read this week?

  1. I totally have weeks like that too, where it will be Saturday and I’ll realize I haven’t read at all that week. It’s crazy! Hopefully you have a bit of time this week 🙂

I’m popping over to your post about The Hobbit book club thingie…I’m reading it this week, completely coincidentally!

  2. This has been one of those weeks for me as well. Everyone in my house has been sick (or is still) and the feeling of wanting to read has diminished greatly because of that. Sometimes we just need to live life and take a breather, you know?

Hopefully this week will be better for you, despite the traveling and whatnot. And even if you don’t get much reading done, hopefully it will be a fun week nonetheless! 🙂

  3. Sounds like you have another busy week ahead of you as well! If you want to squeeze in some reading, I hope you can. If you need another week of down time, take that instead. 🙂

  4. I think I’d be lost if I didn’t read at least one book a week! Just thinking about it makes me shiver 😛 Hopefully you get some down time. I commented on at least 10 blogs today..

  5. Thanks for hosting this! I went to over 20 of the blogs and added several books to my TBR list! First-time participant, hope to be a weekly participant but you know how life gets in the way sometimes 🙂

  6. I posted on 10 or 11 of the other blogs this week. It is amazing to see how much other people read. It sure can make you feel less then when you have an off week. Or if you are like me and just are happy when you finally make some progress after weeks of work on the same three.

  7. Cannot believe i have visited 30 blogs – they were all great and the selection of books was amazing. The Casual Vacancy is definitely a trend! I have a read-a-long coming up and would love it if you joined in. 😀

  8. Today I confessed to being an audio book junkie. The best thing about books is they aren’t going anywhere and they just sit there quietly until we are ready for them! Good luck getting some reading in this week!

  9. I’m lucky I’ve had some great audiobooks the last few weeks otherwise I’d be reading nothing. Too tired to concentrate on a book but washing and ironing and cooking still has to be done and an audio saves the day. Hoping life slows down just a little for you soon so you can take a breath 🙂

  10. I’m fairly new to the blogging world but this is my second week participating in your meme. I have really enjoyed it. Thanks for posting! I’ve been to just over 10 blogs so far…

  11. I hate when that happens.

My fiction reading has been shorted lately as well what with my participation in ROW80 a writing challenge, the upcoming NaNoWriMo prep, crochet projects with Xmas due dates and packing for my November visit at my Mom’s which starts Saturday. Oh and fighting a bug. But not to zero page and I got some serious reading in for Dewey’s read-a-thon last weekend and a scheduled blog tour.

This week I’ve finally crossed off a big blogging 2DO recommended during Blogiesta which was to create templates for repetitive posts like memes. I’ve done if for IMWAYR and so going forward it will take minutes rather than over an hour to prep the post which leaves more time for visiting! Plus I’ll be more motivated to put it up in the wee hours of Monday instead of late Monday or the wee hours of Tuesday which is when I’m more likely to have the larger block of time.

  12. Hi Sheila, i just revisited the link list and was amazed – it’s up to 102 participants. sounds like a record, or is it just that everyone is back now after summer? anyway, great to see so many books. My own reads took me from the Noble Literature last week to Graphic Novels this week. (http://virtual-notes.blogspot.de/search/label/bookshelf)

Have a lovely reading week! And thanks again for this blog meme. It’s a great thing in so many ways.

  13. W0W – Thanks! (for the win). I feel kind of guilty because i didn’t post an It’s Monday this week – busy recurperating from working…(it’s that tough, or I’m that weak, lol). I’m going to go over and look over the possibilities, and I promise to post next week. 🙂

By the way – Out of Oz – brand new book by McGuire? I try to make sure I buy his books for my daughter for X-mas, she loves his writing. He’s the ONLY author she collects. Exciting. 🙂

  14. Being too busy to read- or even taking a break from it to do more “productive” things- is OK. I always enjoy finding the book that sucks me back in though.
