Banned Book Hop!

Banned Book Week is coming and if you have been around here at all you know I am hosting a Big Banned Book Week Party with giveaways and reviews of Banned Books and Banned Book topics.  This is my third year hosting a banned book event!

This time I am also participating in the Banned Book Hop as well hosted by the awesome I Am A Reader, Not A Writer!  There are so many Banned Books I love:  To Kill a Mockingbird, SPEAK, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, Hunger Games, all the Harry Potter books and more!  For a list of banned/challenged books check it out here.

My giveaway is for a $15 Amazon Gift card for hopefully a Banned/Challenged Book!  To enter, simply leave a comment here letting me know which banned book you would purchase if you were to win.  For one bonus entry, subscribe to Bookjourney by email – see upper right sidebar and let me know you did in a comment.  If you already subscribe, let me know and I will count you as well. 😀

Check out all the other participants here!

  1. I already follow, and I would choose Perks of Being a Wallflower because I like reading a book before I see the movie. Thanks for the giveaway! 😀

  2. HI Sheila. I am totally loving Banned Book week. I am wondering do you know if any books on the banned book list either now or in previous years have been for children? Today I am taking Julia to the library for her own library card. I think our local library has a special. LOL!

    1. Check out the list I linked to above Millie – but off the top of my head Little House On The Prairie, The Lorax, Cat In The Cat, Harriet The Spy, all the Narnia books, all the Harry Potter books, Bridge to Terabithia, Indian In The Cupboard, pretty much anything by Judy Blume…

  3. I think I may get Perks of Being a Wallflower, there’s been a lot of buzz about the movie coming out. Or, I’d go a more classic route, because I’ve never read Brave New World.

  4. I already subscribe by email 🙂

I would love to buy a copy (or 10) of Perks. I just read it for the first time and I want to read it again and again and make all of my family and friends read it as well!

  5. I’ll have to echo an earlier comment about “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.” I’ve never read that one! Or maybe “James and the Giant Peach.” I love the movie, but I’ve never read the book. 🙂

Also, subscribed via RSS on Google.

  6. Just followed via email, and I would have to say my purchase would be “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” simply because it’s getting a lot of buzz lately. Thanks!

  14. I have read a lot of the books on the list so my choices are limited. I would like to choose a book from the Alice series or Color of Earth series. I have not started either of these series yet.

  15. I’ve never read Catcher in the Rye, but have always wanted to see what all the controversy was about! lol Thanks! =)

  16. I really enjoyed another book I read by Maya Angelou, so I’d like I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. I’ve followed for a long time, but just subscribed through email.
