Morning Meandering… Why am I still talking about how awesome it is to be home?

Good morning!

Wow.  This morning is a BIG dose of normalcy here.

AND uh huh…. I like it.  😛

It has been over a week since I have sat down at my kitchen table in the morning having  a cup of coffee and tapping at my keyboard a message out to the blogosphere.

It is GOOD to be home.

Brainerd Minnesota…. is quite the opposite of New York.

Mmmmmm..... coffee

I love taking my time in the morning with my coffee.  I love looking our my window and seeing blue skies and a yard that has been a part of my life since I was 3 years old.

I love my deck… and that it is finally time to sit on it and read – my absolute favorite place to read!  😀

This morning.... after a storm last night

No rushing in the early hours, fast walking down busy New York sidewalks, crowds of people everywhere, the smell of donuts on one corner, hot pretzels on the next, and something greasy and fried on the next.

(I had some  really good food in New York and I had some really bad food in New York.)

Anyway…. I drift.

I am off to work here shortly and even that feels good and normal.  I am hopeful the day turns out to be a nice one so I can ride my bike this afternoon…. (it has been 2+ weeks since I have worked out and I feel a bit sluggish…..)  I have kickboxing and group power on Wednesday and I am soooo looking forward to getting back at it.)

Ok… so this post really was just a ramble and gushing of how good it is to be home… putting images of Dorothy clicking her red (totally outdated) pumps together saying, “there is no place like home…. there is no place like home”.

Oh… it is good to be home. (I should be over this melancholy by tomorrow…. really)  😛

  1. I’m surprised that you aren’t nearly comatose from that wild week you had! Welcome home, Sheila!

PS – I love the view from your deck, it’s so serene!

  2. one of the best parts of being home (to me anyways) is to have all my clothes clean and put away!

    1. I like that too Diana, seems like I am always getting home and unpacking and finding a shirt or pants in the suitcase that I forgot I had brought and totally would have worn…if I knew I had it. 😛

  3. Oh, I love your deck and yard, too! I’d never leave it! Well, not for long, anyway.

Yes, I’ve always been a big fan of home, even though I enjoy those getaways.

    Have a good day!

  4. I love to travel, so much so that I’ll go anywhere anytime. But, I do love coming home too. Our place is really special and of course it’s the place I’m most comfortable.

  5. There’s nothing like a busy vacation trip to make home attractive! 🙂 I’m glad you had so much fun in NYC and are enjoying your time at home again.

  6. So… it’s going to take me a while to catch up with everyone but I’m guessing…. this is the place to read all things BEA/BBC so I will spend more time later catching up. I have no ideas what books people were raving about, I don’t think I have read one think BEA related yet. ugh

I’m just settling in today to, I did love being on vacation last week but completely understand loving the pace of routine.

I hope you had a wonderful trip to NYC. Hopefully we will meet next year! have a great week.

    1. I plan to do posts all week (except Wed – I have a book tour) on BEA…. when my books arrive hopefully by this weekend I will be able to report on the books and the buzz 😀

I hope we do meet next year – that would be so awesome!

  7. Your backyard looks amazing! Very peaceful!

I need some quiet time right now – I haven’t had time to chill in a while and the blog is suffering!

When I get busy ill think about your decking!!!

Hmmmm... what do you think?
