Morning Meanderings… Registration Day!

Good morning.

Was the night short for you too?

Last night after work I popped home had a quick dinner and then went to create gift baskets for the silent auction for next weekends Mission Banquet.  It did not go as quickly as I had hoped and I popped back into the house (not as energetic a “pop” as it had been earlier in the day), exhausted and ready to wind down.  unfortunately I had hit that level of exhaustion that causes a person not to be able to read because my eyes just can not focus on words and my mind can not cling to whats happening…

*sigh*

However today – excites me because tonight after working out, my friend Wendy and I are going to have salads and have a registration party.  That means it is it that time to start registering for bike rides…. and that..

ENERGIZES me.

Somebody – call in the rabbit!

There – that’s better.  😀

Here is the ride list:

May 1, 2011:  The IronMan (60 miles/100 miles)

May 7, 2011:  MS Ride (50 miles)

June 3-5:  Tour of Lakes (3 smaller rides – 1 each day.. between 30 – 70 miles)

June 10-12:  MS 150 (150 miles)

July ___:  Tour of Saints (yet to be determined what date)

July 23, 2011 Warrior Dash – not a bike ride!

August 6-7:  Camp Benedict Ride for AIDS (175 miles)

August 20:  Tour De Pines (may have a conflict on this one)  😦

That is what is on my radar for now 😀

Have to run and get ready for work!  Have an awesome day!

  1. The sun is shining through my window at the moment, and I can just imagine those bike rides. Oh, wind through your hair, sun on your face, up and down the mountain. Lovely! I’m sure that will be lots of fun.

    1. Oh I can not wait! My bike is in the spare bedroom and I think I may take it for its tune up this weekend even though there is still snow… it rained yesterday and that wiped a lot of it out and today and tomorrow are suppose to be around 40 degrees so that will help clear the trails a bit 🙂

      1. Still snow? How awful! At least, we start to see the beginnings of spring and it can’t be too soon for me. Snow and ice are not for me.

As someone from the cycle-mad Netherlands, I find it very amusing that you keep your bike in the spare bedroom. We all have garages or at least a shed (standard issue) to keep our bikes in. A family of four (say) doesn’t have enough space in the spare bedroom for 4 bikes (sometimes more than 4, people may have daily use bikes and sporty bikes). 🙂

        1. I do see grass after all the rain… its not good and pretty grass, it is old 2010 grass… but grass all the same. 😛

All my other bikes are in the garage…. my road bike…. is special. 😀 There are about 6 bikes in the garage that my hubby frequently moans about why we need all those bikes… both my boys bikes are still here, my mountain bike, a spare, and his bike.

The road bike…. was quite the purchase and need my love. LOL

  2. Oh, your list of rides is just making me more tired; I did, indeed, have a very short night last night. Paul worked late last night and left for the office 2.5 hours early this morning. He let me sleep, but Maisie was convinced it was time to start the day and wouldn’t let my repose continue. :p

    1. Oh I hate it when that happens! My problem is I have been sleeping long lately! I think I will getup early and get things done before work (seems to be the only free time) and then I look and it is 7 am… I work at 8… I am already in “go mode” before my feet hit the floor. 😛

  3. Good for you! As for me, I’m too pooped to pop. 🙂 Maybe it’s because although our snow had been melting and temps warming some, right now we have a snow squall of huge wet flakes. Bah humbug! 😦 March is a mean month.

  4. Oh, I remember loving bike riding! I didn’t ride in marathons, but sometimes we used to ride many miles as a family….back in the day.

I totally picture you as the Energizer Bunny! LOL

  5. This is a lot of riding. I did not realize you were back on your bike. Are you riding the bike at the gym or do you have it set up on a trainer at home?

My goal is for 100 miles a week as of yesterday morning I was at 56 for the week.

    1. I am not on it yet Esme… roads are still not clear and the trail takes even longer as parts of it are covered by trees that make the melting of ice SUPER S L O W. 🙂

I wish I could ride year around like you… I wont use a trainer at home as I heard that is really hard on your tires and I hate the stationary bikes at the gym but I am about ready to force myself to do some of that 🙂

  6. Those rides look fantastic! We’ve started getting a lot of bicycle ride related mail around here lately for my husband. It’s that time of year. I’ll be curious to see which he rides in this year – he’s mostly recovered from his wreck and arm surgery last year, but prefers the recumbent. I don’t know how that will affect his ride choices.

Good luck on all of your rides!

  7. I love bike riding but wow that is an extensive list – enjoy and i look forward to see how you get on.

You have so much energy and it really does send out waves of encouragement to others – it is greatly appreciated. 😀
