Year 8 of First Book. YAY! I spent a little time this morning looking through this website at all the previous First Book posts, including the very early ones where I just shared what I was reading. The first official First Book post where I invited all of you to join in was in 2014. Since then, it has become a tradition to do this every year and when I am a little late on putting this post up there are a few of you that message and ask if I am doing it.
Of course we are doing it!
So what is First Book? First Book is the first book you plan on reading in the New Year. It can be a long-coveted read you have not had time for, a guilty pleasure read like a re-read of a favorite… really it can be anything – it is, after all, YOUR First Book.
Make it AWESOME.
Then, once you have picked what it will be, email/ Facebook message me a picture of you with the book (send it to sdechantal@gmail.com). This adds to the excitement of the First Book. You have between now and December 31st to send in your choice. On January 1st I will post all the pics in a collage format of all of you around the world that are doing First Book. I do hope you will join me – friends, family, fellow book lovers, a friend of a friend of a friend… you there in the corner looking at this crazy site for the first time – you as well 😀 I enjoy putting this together every year and seeing all the great books and pics come in really makes my heart smile.

I have been agonizing over this one. I’ve got it narrowed down to 3 and I just can’t decide. It doesn’t seem like it would be a hard decision but it IS! 😉

I love it, I missed 2020 for some reason (maybe I was in a funk?) I wish I know who everyone was in this pic. I’m only sure about (7) but I’m sure I know more from 12+ years of blogging LOL

Very good, it seems like this year has sped to its end, will have to think about what my first book will be! I am just starting to look at what is TBP in 2021, but now will have to put on my reading hat to see what that important book might be. Thanks for hosting it again Sheila.

Woo Hoo! I’ve got my book picked out, now just need to get a picture. I am going to try and add my name to the pic and hopefully others will be able to do the same.

So out of communication that I missed this post and was one of those wondering…would Sheila be doing this this year? I’m excited to see that yes, you are! I only got one novel for Christmas, but I’m not sure yet if that one will be my first of 2021 or maybe my last of 2020. Thank you for putting the photo collages together! I love seeing all the choices and faces!
