Good morning! Post Thanksgiving and 2 days. I suppose some of you are still entertaining family or out-of-town yourself for the weekend. I am at home, Justin left for the cities yesterday afternoon and all has been put away. Life is back to normal.
Today for Saturday Snapshot I wanted to post what has been happening at our library lately. Last Sunday we went in and decorated for the holidays:
On Wednesday I went in and changed out the window to Christmas or Winter reading:
Today I am going in to make the book tree for our open house. The Open House is Monday. This is an annual event where we invite in the public for refreshments and to see the decorations for the library. We will have Friends Of The Library information set up, cookies and punch, as well as a drawing for Christmas turkeys.
It should be a good time. 🙂
Does your library have a Friends Group? Are you a part of it? It is a lot of fun and connects you to other book lovers.
The Library and the window look lovely!
Thanks!
I am sad to say that I don’t even use our library…and I love libraries! My best friend is a librarian! Sigh!
You need to use it Patty. I did not use our for years either, than discovered how important it is to the community… if we book lovers are not using the library how can we encourage others to? 😀
Beautiful Christmas preparation collage. Curious to know what’s on your Christmas/winter reading list. 😉
In the window at the library is a good mix of new books and a few older titles not to miss like Night Circus, Husbands Secret, and Me Before You. My own personal list would be different… I would have to think about that 🙂
I do love libraries, and the one in my neighborhood is gorgeous. Time to revisit it!
In your window display, I see Winter Street, a book that is on my up next stack.
That one is coming up for me as well 🙂
Not sure if there is a Friend’s group. I have long list I want to read.
I do as well 😀 You should check out the friends group if they have one Betty 🙂
The display looks great, though I am really curious as to what the Christmas reading books are.
I can’t thank you enough for your support for Friends of the Library!!! So many of our libraries wouldn’t be able to even open their doors without that help. I am not a member as I’m an employee but I certainly grateful!!!
We have an excellent group of Friends! I really enjoy it 🙂
My library has a friends group and apparently the branch that I use gets the most volunteer hours in the county even though it’s one of the smallest! I’m not a member currently but I’m planning on looking into it when the Tornado starts school in a few years. I love how festive your library looks! Looks like a lot of fun!
That is so cool! I really enjoy being a Friend of the library and as a team we have done wonderful things 😉
How fun to be able to decorate a library! My local library doesn’t have a friends group, but I am an enthusiastic user.
Louise I wonder if one could be started? Maybe talk with the head Librarian… you only need a few to get started 🙂
Beautiful décor! Very cheerful!
