It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
Welcome to It’s Monday! What Are You Reading! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! As part of this weekly meme I love to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme. I offer a weekly contest for those who visit 10 or more of the Monday Meme participants and leave a comment telling me how many you visited. **You do not have to have a blog to participate! You receive one entry for every 10 comments, just come back here and tell me how many in the comment area.
Under the new and hopefully improved 2013 guidelines, the winner each week will receive a $5 Amazon gift card. This past weeks winner is:
Joy from Joy’s Book Blog!
(Congratulations! I will email you the gift card)
I have been fairly absent this week. I have an uncle who has been very sick with cancer for over the past year. It has been a long battle for him and I spent time with him and my aunt this past Wednesday when I heard that things were not looking good. I am so glad I did as he passed away on Thursday evening. On Thursday, I was working 13 hours on the Camp Benedict benefit dinner which happened to be in the middle of a snow storm and we still had a wonderful turn out! On Friday morning I had two meetings, and then my friend Amy picked me up and I went with 8 of my girl friends to Breezy Point Minnesota for a fun relaxing girls weekend. The break was needed, and as you can imagine, this week will be busy again.
With all that going on my reading was non-existent but I did get a little audio time in.
Here is what was posted this past week:
Loving Frank by Nancy Horan (seriously, if you have not read this book I think you must!)
And wow… that was it. That was all I posted. 😯 This week I am pretty much continuing what I already has going but this is my current audio listening…
They’ve spent years at the same high school without speaking a word to one another, but that’s all about to change. Popular Bliss was having the perfect prom until she found her BFF and boyfriend making out in the back of a limo. Bad girl Jolene wouldn’t be caught dead at the prom, yet here she is, trussed up in pink ruffles, risking her reputation for some guy – some guy who is forty minutes late. And shy, studious, über-planner Meg never counted on her date’s standing her up and leaving her idling in the parking lot outside the prom. Get ready for The Anti-Prom, Abby McDonald’s hilarious, heart-tugging tale about three girls and one unforgettable prom night.
A trip to the library in search of audio brought me home with this.
The prequel to the New York Times bestselling Maze Runner series—The Kill Order is a modern classic for fans of The Hunger Games and Divergent. It can be read alone or as a companion to the action-packed series.
Before WICKED was formed, before the Glade was built, before Thomas entered the Maze, sun flares hit the earth and mankind fell to disease.
Mark and Trina were there when it happened, and they survived. But surviving the sun flares was easy compared to what came next.
Now a disease of rage and lunacy races across the eastern United States, and there’s something suspicious about its origin. Worse yet, it’s mutating, and all evidence suggests that it will bring humanity to its knees.
Mark and Trina are convinced there’s a way to save those left living from descending into madness. And they’re determined to find it—if they can stay alive. Because in this new, devastated world, every life has a price. And to some, you’re worth more dead than alive.
James Dashner (my author crush) comes through again with an engaging tale….
