January was a great month here at Book Journey for books and audio. It has been a long time since I have had such a good month. I end with this last day of January with 12 reads completed and reviewed, Here is what they were:
The Road by Cormac McCarthyckson
Between The Lines by Jodi Piccoult
In The Belly Of Jonah by Sandra Brannan
Gods In Alabama by Joshilyn Jackson
Will To Murder by Gail Feichting
The Gilly Sisters by Tiffany Baker
A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard
Murder Of The Century by Paul Collins
Born This Way by Paul Vitagliano
For best of the month, I would say do not pass on Gods In Alabama, The Gilly Salt Sisters and Level 2.
Here is my WHERE I have been reading so far this year. If you are participating in the WHERE Are You Reading Challenge, please add your recap post to the linky below:

Have you read any of these books? What was your best reads of January?

I’ve read Gods in Alabama (this month) and Between the Lines, in November.
Probably my favorite book this month (I haven’t done my recap, as I hope to finish another book today) was There Was an Old Woman, by Hallie Ephron.
I really liked Gods in Alabama, but it wasn’t quite my favorite.
I may need to take a look at There Was An Old Woman Laurel! Gods In Alabama was audio and I just love her voice! Read by the author. 😀
I might need to try one of her books in audio…I love a Southern accent!
January was a great reading month for me too. I haven’t read any of these books on your list. My best reads were The Memory Clinic and Me Before You, which I just finished yesterday and couldn’t put down!
I have heard such good things about Me Before You! I really need to read that one! 😀
Laura, I’ve requested Me Before You from the library.
You had a great moth of reading, Sheila. I don’t know how you do it!
It was a lot of good audio and less of a hectic schedule… AND I had an extra day off each week in January due to too many hours in December. 😀
You had a great month!! Kudos to you!
Thanks 🙂
very impressive! as soon as i finish school in 3 months I hope to get back to my reading habits but wow, girl! i don’t think i’ve ever made it to 12 in one month! very cool 😀
It was a great month – a 7 hour road trip helped with the audio and bonus days off meant reading 😀
Great start to the new year with 12 books under your belt! I only managed to read 7, so need to play catch up now. Here’s to a great February!
You had a good month too – 7 is nothing to laugh at, I had many months I was lucky if I had 3. 😀
I’m listening to The Gilly Salt SIsters now, but haven’t read any of your other January books. Not sure what I think about the Gilly book yet, but the narrator is very good!
I never know where you get all the time to get through so many books. I read a few more but I don’t do audio (and my life is a bit quieter). It was a good month for you.
I see that you’re listening to Peaches for Father Francis. I’ve just finished it – a nice read but not as good as Chocolat. 🙂
Audio is a life saver, and that cabin weekend was a mini read fest 🙂 I just finished listening to Peaches this morning and I totally agree with you, it is no Chocolat.
wow, that was quite a month! I will read my first book on the US (Delaware this month). Here is my monthly wrap-up, a good one as well: http://wordsandpeace.com/2013/02/02/2013-january-wrap-up/
Nice! Delaware I have one of those coming up this month 🙂
I saw this all the time, to a few of you speed readers…. wow! I haven’t read Gods in Alabama, but hear it’s a must read.
I reviewed 6, read 4 in January. AND I was on vacation for 12 days. The bookstores in London/Oxford are trip worthy alone…. I discovered about a dozen must read titles, Now to find time!
Good luck in February.
You did great – and a London book store would be so awesome!
Yay! I won!! I suppose you need my e-mail address. It is kacyrellis [at] gmail (dot) com
I’ve heard so many great things about The Road. I found a copy at our local library book sale last year, and I’m hoping to get to it sometime soon. Also, your review of The Gilly Salt sisters made me want to read that one as well.
You DID have a good month! Me, too – I added my January Summary link.
I also borrowed your approach here of including pics of the books – very nice.
I read lots of great books last month, but my favorite was Pigs in Heaven by Barbara Kingsolver.
