Morning Meanderings… Guess What Arrived In The Mail?

Good morning!  Happy Thursday.  Even as I type this morning my wrists hurt.  When I walk to get more coffee my calves hurt… I can’t tell you how happy that makes me 😀  I started Kick boxing again on Tuesday, plan to go again tonight, and yesterday did Group Power and later Rollerblade with my friend Wendy.  *waves to Wendy who reads these posts from work*  😛

As for the title of this mornings post…. a couple of books arrived earlier this week that have me SO EXCITED!!!!

Yup!  Insurgent AND These Girls.  I have been waiting for Insurgent and These Girls?  Don’t even get me started on how much I enjoy Sarah Pekkenen’s writing!  😀

Remember that stray dog that wandered into out lives and into our heart right after Easter?  Well Sam, as he is now named, is doing wonderfully.  We now have a vet who guesses him to be between one and two.  He has a lot of puppy in him.  When I come home from work he is so excited that when he jumps on me to be petted his feet actually leave the floor.  I call that “loving with your whole body.”  Thank you Kerri for thinking of us when you found him… even when I told you “no” the first time.  😀

Sam and Bailey (out 13-year-old shih-tsu) get along great.  It is good to see them together.

Hanging out together in the front room. Bailey (left) and Sam.
This morning, while I am writing this post…. Good morning Sam, 🙂

Have a great day everyone, be sure to stop by later for my review of Laura Lippman’s the most dangerous thing.

    1. We did not want another dog Patty. We lost out 15 year old shih-tsu last October and that was heartbreaking. Then here comes this guy… lost, or tossed… we cant figure it out… we have looked for his home… but it seems like he was meant to be here. 😀

  1. Sam and Bailey are so cute! I’d say Sam was lucky to end up with you, Sheila 🙂
I’ve read a lot of good things about These Girls so I look forward to your review. Have a great day!

  2. This is the ONE thing I miss about physical books (as most of mine have been ebooks lately) — is getting books in the mail!! What a great day, you had. 🙂 I haven’t heard of Sarah Pekkenen often, but I am starting to see her pop up on my reading radar. Will have to check out one of her books. Any in particular recommended as a start?

    1. I am adjusting to an e reader for travel, but I dont think I would ever be able to give up physical books… I do prefer them 🙂

And yes, for Pekkanen, all her books are good, but I would recommend her first one, Skipping A Beat.

  3. Sam looks like he’s enjoying his role as your blogging companion…and how cute to see him with Bailey.

I have been wanting to read something else by Sarah Pekkanen, as I so enjoyed The Opposite of Me. These Girls is one I’ve been noticing lately. Hope you enjoy both of your books!

  4. Congrats on the books. You have a regal writing assistant just like me except mine is of the feline persuasion. I envy all your activity. Have a great day!!!

  5. Sam is a cutie! I just started the audio of Insurgent – so excited! Hope we both love the book. And can’t wait to hear more about These Girls. Happy reading!

  6. Sam is such a cutie! And I’m happy to hear that he’s Bailey’s new buddy! You never know if your original dog will accept a newcomer, so glad it all worked out! 🙂

  7. I’m jealous of Insurgent. I’m the first on the hold list at my library, yet ours is the only one in the consortium that still hasn’t received the book in the mail (either that or the librarians are all reading it before cataloging it). So frustrating waiting for them to receive and process it. Not that I’m lacking books to read though. I have to remember that. 🙂
