Morning Meanderings…. Sunday Salon

Good morning.  🙂

What an over all pleasant week we have had here in central Minnesota.  The temperature dipped early in the week but now has risen to the point that today I even had a window open.  Bye Bye snow 😀

I only had a couple of evening commitments this past week which is way more doable for me than the every night thing so I feel a little more balanced which I am thrilled about.  😀

Friday evening we went out with my cousins and their hubbies which was fun.  Saturday I decided to “unplug” from life and spent the day reading and a writing a couple of reviews.  You know that feeling when you can sit and actually read an entire book, guilt free?  I had one of those days and watch for my review of Pandemonium up later today.  Now I am reading and finishing our book club read yet today.

Throughout the week a nice assortment of books have graced my doorstep:

The first 7 are books that came in for review and the last book, The Book Of Romance I purchased as in church we are studying The Song Of Solomon and using this book as well.

I am now working on a master calendar as to when I would like to review books… and trying to be more organized as to when they come in and when they are for sale to the public.

Today will be another pretty sweet day I think… I have floor hockey tonight, and house cleaning to do this afternoon as we are having people over tomorrow night.  Tuesday is book club and I have prep to do for that yet too 🙂

Also in honor of “Springing Forward” with daylight savings time today I am hoping to commit to springing forward myself as well with a little plan… (more about that at Team Kickin It)

How is your Sunday going?

  1. That is a nice selection of books! Gossip and The False Prince look really good.

I can’t wait to hear what you thought of Pandemonium. It is really nice to have a day to just relax and read. I may do that today though I really need to pack for a library conference I am going to this week.

I always grumble about this time change at first but I actually like it. It makes things more pleasant when I work in the evenings to have that extra bit of light. I am an early riser by nature (I’ve trained myself that way 🙂 ). Have a great Sunday!

  2. I got a lot of reading done yesterday since our DirecTV wasn’t getting a signal from the satellite. Why this had to happen during March Madness is a mystery yet to be solved. It had nothing to do with the solar storms. Oh well, the repairman is due this morning.

Anyway, I finished one book and got halfway through another one, the first slightly insane and funny, the second has me scared. Nice variety, don’t you think?

  3. I LOVED Gossip…not a light, frivolous read, which the title might suggest; but based on the author’s other books, I knew I would enjoy it very much.

I totally forgot about daylight savings time until I got up! Then I squinted and thought: why is it so light outside? ha-ha

I really don’t enjoy the clock-changing production, as I have a collection of clocks over the mantle and throughout the house that require that I take them down to change. Done now, though!

Enjoy your week. Here’s MY SUNDAY SALON

  4. Sounds like a wonderful day is in store for you! The sun is out and shining bright right now! So happy to see the temps warming up a bit too! I love all of the books that came into the house this past week. I’m catching up on blogs today, doing laundry, some housework, and getting caught up on Bleak House.

    Have a beautiful day! 😀

    1. It is gorgeous here Staci, I just got home form the gym which makes me feel productive, I am going to clean my kitchen while listening to audio 😀

I bought Bleak house… but have not attempted it yet.

  5. I love those days when you can sit down with a book guilt-free and just read to your heart’s content! I’m looking forward to reading Pandemonium. I love the way Lauren Oliver writes.

    Have a nice Sunday!

  6. I’m anxious to find out how you do a master calendar! I’ve got towers of books all over the place here and need desperately to get organized!

    1. Its nothing impressive Sharon… last year I tried an online google calendar and I did not keep up with it. I am using an agenda book now with big squares to put in when I hope to review a book or when I need to be reviewing for a tour. 😀

  7. I received Gossip last week too. I picked up Operation Family Secrets a while back but haven’t read it yet… have to keep up on the Chicago crime scene! I remember when that trial was going on. Should be interesting reading.
