It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Welcome to It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading?  This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I love being a part of this and I hope you do too!  As part of this weekly meme I love to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme.  I offer a weekly contest for those who visit 10 or more of the Monday Meme participants and leave a comment telling me how many you visited.  **You do not have to have a blog to participate! You receive one entry for every 10 comments, just come back here and tell me how many in the comment area.

What a crazy week!  Between work, working out, evening commitments Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday…. I hardly read a thing and almost came before you with a goose egg today…

😯

But… yesterday saved the day and I did finish an audio that I have been working on for a couple of weeks so here is the week of accomplishments (or lack there of):

Awesome video:  Sh** Book Bloggers Say (a must see!)

No Comment.  YES!  Comment!!!  (the importance of commenting as part of Reagan’s BBRAW)

11-22-63 by Stephen King (a remarkable read – do not miss this one!)

The Eyre Report #1 (my first update to the Jane Eyre self read a long 😀 )

So ummm… yeah.  Thats it.  I am reading a couple of books still from last week and have some plans for this week so hopefully back on track.

Sara Beth Riley never dreamt she’d walk straight out of her life.  Actually she’d never dreamt a lot of things that had happened this year … From being kidnapped by her own best friend, to throwing her wedding rings into the Hudson River, to calling an old love in France, to getting inked with said best friend, painting the passionate constellation of these choices into permanence.  But mostly, she could never have dreamt what started it all.  How could it be that her mother’s unexpected death, and the grief which lingered painfully long, turned her into the woman she was finally meant to become?

Sara Beth’s escape begins a summer of change – of herself, of marriage, of the lives of those around her.  In a story that moves from Manhattan to the sea to a quaint New England town, Whole Latte Life looks at friends we never forget, at decisions we linger with, at our attempts to live the lives we love.

OOH sounds good!

Sports agent Myron Bolitar is poised on the edge of the big time. So is Christian Steele, a rookie quarterback and Myron’s prized client. But when Christian gets a phone call from a former girlfriend, a woman who everyone, including the police, believes is dead, the deal starts to go sour. Trying to unravel the truth about a family’s tragedy, a woman’s secret, and a man’s lies, Myron is up against the dark side of his business—where image and talent make you rich, but the truth can get you killed.

I love Coben!

Everyone in town thinks Meg is volatile and dull-witted and that her younger brother Charles Wallace is dumb. People are also saying that their father has run off and left their brilliant scientist mother. Spurred on by these rumors, Meg and Charles Wallace, along with their new friend Calvin, embark on a perilous quest through space to find their father. In doing so they must travel behind the shadow of an evil power that is darkening the cosmos, one planet at a time.

Never read it… but look forward to it.  This review will come with fun giveaways!

That’s it… keeping it light this week and I have a few to catch up on from last week including my book club read due this Tuesday!

I am looking forward to seeing what you are reading!  Add your What Are You Reading post to the linky below and I will try to stop by!  😀

  1. Well I managed the goose egg instead of you LOL. Whole Latte Life sounds pretty good, I’ll be interested to see what you think. I’m off to check out some of your other posts that have caught my eye!
    Happy reading 🙂

  2. I’ve been meaning to re-read A Wrinkle in Time for the last year and a half and all these 50th anniversary edition reviews are making me want to get on that asap.

  3. A local bookstore had a big Wrinkle in Time celebration that I wanted to go to, but I didn’t make it. I re-read it a few years ago. I don’t think I enjoyed it as much this time around as I did when I was younger, but it’s still a good read. Hope you enjoy!

  4. I think you will like A Wrinkle in Time. I know I did. In fact, I think I have read everything L’Engle wrote at least once and some of them many times. If I can ever catch up on my review books, I plan to re-read Wrinkle this year.

  5. I haven’t read A Wrinkle in Time since I was in primary school, I think it was one of the very first science fiction books I read.

    Have a great reading week!

  6. Love the sound of Whole Latte and A Wrinkle in Time. I’ll be watching for your reviews.
I read a Coben a few years back. Maybe I should try him again. I have one or two of his books on my shelves. — Have to find time which is hard with so many good books to read!
Hope this is a good week for you!

  7. Hi again Sheila – thought I’d better come back now to tell you I visited 21 tonight. Knowing how my week goes that may be it and I might not get back here to post later. 🙂

  8. I read a Wrinkle in Time recently, for the first time! I think it’s quite scary, well creepy anyway. And there are a few books in the series. I found the book unsettling, and some images and characters I will not forget (in a nightmare kind of way!) I’ll stick with The Narnia Chrionicles for otherworldly reading! xx

  9. We’re at another week with no book finished – it’s beginning to be a trend over my way. Oh well – at least I’m reading.

My Tuesday Teacher up ups over at Rabid Reader . Even though I didn’t get a lot read, I enjoyed what I read. 🙂

Hope you are well, and for god’s sake, be careful out there! 😉

  10. I’m planning to reread A Wrinkle in Time, though I probably won’t get to it until next week. I’m so excited, though, to read it for the first time in more than 20 years.

  11. I am having a pretty good start to the week! I hope you enjoy all of your reads too! The Whole Latte Life cover is making me want a Latte lol. Happy Reading! 🙂

PS-visited about 10 blogs this morning!

  12. I’m so glad I found your blog. I’ve never read A Wrinkle In Time either. I’ve been reviewing for years and years but recently started my blog and am having a tough time finding other blogs to follow who read across genres. I’m a huge audio fan and read tons of eclectic stuff and am off to visit the Monday Blog Hop participants.

  13. A Wrinkle In Time is one of my all time favorite children’s books. How did you miss that one? I read it back when it was newish. lol It was the book that sparked my love of science fiction. (That and Star Trek but I digress).

I have Whole Latte Life too but it’s further down in my reading pile.

  14. Sorry that you weren’t able to get much reading done this week. I have been rather busy too! And due to craziness I again lost my spot 31 but I still made it into the thirtys! Not n much of a commenty mood so I only got around to about ten or fifteen blogs of other peoples.

  15. Hi Shelleyrae . It’s been awhile since I last participated . I am following you on linky . Please follow back ? 😦 Anyhow , I wonder how come it doesn’t show up properly on wordpress ? I stuck a linky follow widget on my wordpress blog and it does the same thing . I hate that .

  16. I bought A Wrinkle in Time just after the new edition came out because it’s one of those books I’ve always meant to read. I need to make sure I get to that one soon.
