Hello and welcome to another fun addition of It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! As part of this weekly meme I love to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme. I offer a weekly contest for those who visit 10 or more of the Monday Meme participants and leave a comment telling me how many you visited. **You do not have to have a blog to participate! You receive one entry for every 10 comments, just come back here and tell me how many in the comment area.

This week… was a hard week. Probably the hardest I have had in a long long time and I am still recovering. If you have been here this week… you know what I am talking about. Here are the posts that I put up this past week:
Sleepers Run by Henry Mosquera (book review)
Water For Elephants DVD Release!
My Heart Is Broken Over The Loss of A Dear Friend. 😦
The Night Strangers by Chris Bojalian (audio review)
We The Animals by Justin Torres (audio review)
Halloween Giveaway – Laura Child’s book – Skeleton Letters, personally signed hard cover copies!
Reading went out the door after Monday and with all the happenings this week I pretty much shut down other than audio. This weekend however at the cabin led me back to Monsters Of Men by Patrick Ness which actually felt good to read and let go of all the pain.
This week I leave for the Cities on Friday afternoon and to Honduras Saturday morning. I will be gone until the following Friday. Yes, It’s Monday is planned to go on while I am away and yes, if I can get my head together here there will be posts while I am away. As for the reading plan…
Yes… yes, I am still reading. BUT – I will finish this week and I am LOVING it (and seriously need the distraction).
Frank W. Abagnale, alias Frank Williams, Robert Conrad, Frank Adams, and Robert Monjo, was one of the most daring conmen, forgers, imposters, and escape artists in history. In his brief but notorious criminal career, Abagnale donned a pilot’s uniform and copiloted a Pan Am jet, masqueraded as the supervising resident of a hospital, practiced law without a license, passed himself off as a college sociology professor, and cashed over $2.5 million in forged checks, all before he was 21. Known by the police of 26 foreign countries and all 50 states as “The Skywayman,” Abagnale lived a sumptuous life on the lam – until the law caught up with him. Now recognized as the nation’s leading authority on financial foul play, Abagnale is a charming rogue whose hilarious, stranger-than-fiction international escapades and ingenious escapes – including one from an airplane – make Catch Me If You Can an irresistible tale of deceit.
I seen the movie, found the audio on sale and I am LOVING this!
Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn’t live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor of the dead. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack—who has already killed Bod’s family . . .
Still in a bit of creepy October spooky mood, this one should be just the fix… plus I have always wanted to read Gaiman.
Tuesday watch for my fun audio review of Snow Flower and The Secret Fan as well as a movie review and giveaway!
That is all I am going to plan for this week as I suspect as Friday ekes closer I will be busy planning and prepping.
What are you reading this week? I am excited to see so please add your Monday What Are You Reading post to the linky below where it says Click here.

Thinking of you Sheila; I’m sure Elmo knows how much you love and miss him and is sending you love right back from the Rainbow Bridge.
I hope you love The Graveyard Book as much as I did, Neil Gaiman has a voice like warm honey; love his narration.
Enjoy your time in Honduras 🙂
Thank you Sheree! I appreciate your kind words. I am looking forward to the Graveyard Book!
I thought I was the only one who had not yet read Neil Gaiman! I will get to him one day.
I am so very sorry for your loss of Elmo. I know that it hurts right now, but eventually the pain will give way to happy memories.
I hope you enjoy your trip to Honduras.
Nope DIxie – I too am with you on the Gaiman front 🙂
Thank you about Elmo…. I appreciate your thoughts so much.
Hope your week goes better for you and that you have a great trip. Sending you lots of hugs.
Thank you Ryan 🙂
The Graveyard Book is a great read!
Oh awesome!
When you find time you should dive into George R.R. Martin’s universe, I am currently reading the first book and finds it magical. I recommend it in bookform, because in my book there is an appendix that states all names and ooccupies etc. and it’s really handy to flip to it and check names etc. On my Kindle it wasn’t so handy.
Neil Gaiman does an excellent job on reading his books. I hope you’re enjoying The Graveyard Book.
I had a very slow week of reading. Please come see what I did finish.
Now I am getting even more excited to listen to the book!
I loved the film Catch Me If You Can. I always meant to read the book but I have yet to get around to it.
I loved The Graveyard. Not my favourite Gaiman but still a fantastic book. Hope you enjoy.
I really enjoyed Catch me if You Can too.. the audio really puts it into perspective…..
Many many hugs to you Shelia! I know how difficult your loss must be. I’m so sorry.
As for the reading…loved The Graveyard Book as well as Catch Me If You Can. I hope you enjoy and are very very distracted! 😉
Thank you Danielle… I hope so too 😉
I saw Sleepers Run at the store last week and thought of you. Sending a hug your way over the lose of a dear friend.
Graveyard seem to be on everyone Oct reading list….I’m looking forward to your review.
Didn’t see the movie but you make it sound interesting….I’ll check netflix 😉
Thanks Gina 😉
Hang In There – Sheila! What else is there to do, after all. Just hang on!
Hope you have a good week, and take care
Thanks Mardel… thats all I am doing 🙂

You are reading books with flower titles…. awesome:)
I can see why your reading went out the door – it’s hard to read with tears running out of your eyes. Take your time, Sheila. I’m sending hugs your way.
Thank you Kathy
I actually don’t think that I knew that Catch Me If You Can was a book. I really enjoyed the movie!
The audio is fantastic so far… you are really getting the story on what this guy did and how easy it was!
I loved the Graveyard Book! It’s one of favorite Neil Gaiman books…and perfect for the Halloweekend! 🙂
I think so too… looking forward to it. 🙂
Have a wonderful trip. What an experience that should be! I’m glad you found some books to keep your mind off your loss. I hope this week is much better than the last.
Thank you Julie… yes, I am reminded again of the power of books. Sometimes – there are very good reasons to want to be taken away our of your own world….
Thanks for drawing my name for the win this week! Woohoo! Hope you have a wonderful time on your trip! Be safe, be smart, have fun!
It was fun to draw your name Sharon 😀
Thanks for the audiobook of Dracula. Now to find the time to listen to it. Guess I should have been on it this past month in keeping with Halloween. I am so sorry about Elmo. What a blow.
I really enjoyed The Graveyard book when I read it. Perhaps I should reread it….
Have a good day
Anne
My Head is Full of Books
Enjoy the audio Anne 🙂 Thank you about Elmo, yes it knocked me to my knees.
I am excited about the Graveyard book.
I still need to read the Graveyard book! I hope the audio is rockin’!!
I hope so too Melissa 😀
Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors, so hope you enjoy! If you ahve a chance, check out American Gods, Good Omens, or Neverwhere, as those are my favorites.
Still keeping you and your boys (including Al!) in my thoughts, as it’s hard losing a beloved furbaby.
Looking forward to hearing about Honduras!
Thanks Terri, I am really looking forward to the audio – I heard he is an amazing narrator too 🙂
Thank you again for your thoughts… we do so appreciate the support around the world. Elmo has no idea how much love and attention he has drawn. 🙂
So sorry to hear of your loss, Sheila. I’m glad that your books brought you some little comfort this weekend.
The Graveyard Book was lots of fun! I hope you enjoy it, too.
Thinking of you –
Sue
Thanks Sue
I think that Monsters of Men is a good distraction. It’s nice to have those kind of books that suck you in and make the real world disappear for a while.
I am having a hard time staying away from it Alyce… so good!
You have had quite a week and you have been in my thoughts and prayers.
Today has been a crazy day here. Daughter and grandson are moving to their own place tomorrow, plus she had 2 appointments today so Kaden and I had special grandma time. Been around visiting about 30 blogs for this meme and about 20 from another, trying to right posts, waiting for a guest post that it supposed to up on Wednesday, yet I feel like I am forgetting something important. 🙂
I hope each day gets easier for you. Books are patient, they will wait and sometimes daily life has to take precedence over everything else. We will always be here!!
Lori
Thank you Lori… I am breathing now so that is a good thing.
You are busy! Hang in there!
i have Catch me if you can on my TBR pile, can’t wait to hear what you make to it 🙂
I am loving the audio version. 🙂
I’ve thought of you often this past week my friend!!
You have some great books going on…enjoy!
Thank you Staci…. I so appreciate that.
I LOVED the Graveyard Book, and I just discovered Patrick Ness. He is so amazing. Thanks for hosting this amazing meme!
I wish you comfort in this time of grief for your Elmo. I hope you can immerse yourself in a good book this week and let some of the pain go
