Hello and welcome to another fun addition of It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading?

This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

This week… was a hard week.  Probably the hardest I have had in a long long time and I am still recovering.  If you have been here this week… you know what I am talking about.  Here are the posts that I put up this past week:

Reading went out the door after Monday and with all the happenings this week I pretty much shut down other than audio.  This weekend however at the cabin led me back to Monsters Of Men by Patrick Ness which actually felt good to read and let go of all the pain. 

This week I leave for the Cities on Friday afternoon and to Honduras Saturday morning.  I will be gone until the following Friday.  Yes, It’s Monday is planned to go on while I am away and yes, if I can get my head together here there will be posts while I am away.  As for the reading plan…

Yes… yes, I am still reading.  BUT – I will finish this week and I am LOVING it (and seriously need the distraction).

I seen the movie, found the audio on sale and I am LOVING this! 

Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn’t live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor of the dead. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack—who has already killed Bod’s family . . .

Still in a bit of creepy October spooky mood, this one should be just the fix… plus I have always wanted to read Gaiman.

 

Tuesday watch for my fun audio review of Snow Flower and The Secret Fan as well as a movie review and giveaway!

That is all I am going to plan for this week as I suspect as Friday ekes closer I will be busy planning and prepping.

  2. I was so sorry to hear about Elmo. 😦
    Our family lost two dogs, one which we had from the time he was a puppy. I am thinking of you and your family during this hard time.

    I hope that all will go well with your trip to Honduras. Take it easy this week.

    2. I’m sorry for your loss 😦 I’ve got two furbabies myself, one is quite old at 8 years old and I couldn’t imagine how it must feel. Prayers and thoughts your way from my family to yours xoxo

  4. I like Neil Gaiman and I’ve seen the movie for Catch me if you can but haven’t checked out the book. Sorry to hear about your beloved pet. I lost mine not so long ago and know how devastating it can be. Good luck for this week.

  6. You are managing your loss as best can be it seems. Staying busy can help.
    My DH and I watch the movie of Catch Me if You Can several times. 🙂
    The Graveyard Book is on my Next Listen list at Audible. One of these days I will pick it up.

  8. I read Catch Me If You Can years ago and just loved it, it was really interesting and actually informative too! I should reread it 🙂

  11. I thought I was the only one who had not yet read Neil Gaiman! I will get to him one day.

    I am so very sorry for your loss of Elmo. I know that it hurts right now, but eventually the pain will give way to happy memories.

      1. When you find time you should dive into George R.R. Martin’s universe, I am currently reading the first book and finds it magical. I recommend it in bookform, because in my book there is an appendix that states all names and ooccupies etc. and it’s really handy to flip to it and check names etc. On my Kindle it wasn’t so handy.

  15. I loved the film Catch Me If You Can. I always meant to read the book but I have yet to get around to it.

    I loved The Graveyard. Not my favourite Gaiman but still a fantastic book. Hope you enjoy.

I am going to be reading Peony in Love this week and I’m excited to start it…I just need to finish The Secret History of the Pink Carnation which I am loving, too!

  27. Thanks for the audiobook of Dracula. Now to find the time to listen to it. Guess I should have been on it this past month in keeping with Halloween. I am so sorry about Elmo. What a blow.

    I really enjoyed The Graveyard book when I read it. Perhaps I should reread it….

  29. Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors, so hope you enjoy! If you ahve a chance, check out American Gods, Good Omens, or Neverwhere, as those are my favorites.

    Still keeping you and your boys (including Al!) in my thoughts, as it’s hard losing a beloved furbaby.

  32. You have had quite a week and you have been in my thoughts and prayers.

    Today has been a crazy day here. Daughter and grandson are moving to their own place tomorrow, plus she had 2 appointments today so Kaden and I had special grandma time. Been around visiting about 30 blogs for this meme and about 20 from another, trying to right posts, waiting for a guest post that it supposed to up on Wednesday, yet I feel like I am forgetting something important. 🙂

    I hope each day gets easier for you. Books are patient, they will wait and sometimes daily life has to take precedence over everything else. We will always be here!!
