Hello and welcome to another fun addition of It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! As part of this weekly meme I love to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme. I offer a weekly contest for those who visit 10 or more of the Monday Meme participants and leave a comment telling me how many you visited. **You do not have to have a blog to participate! You receive one entry for every 10 comments, just come back here and tell me how many in the comment area.

Note: I am behind on a few weeks of books mailings and I apologize for that – everything is packages up and hitting the post office today. 😀
I had a very productive week for banned books week. I stuck to reading all books on the banned book list this past week, however my audio listening was my regular listens and I am thrilled to say I finished two audios, almost a third and fourth… and all those reviews will be up this week. As for what I did post this past week:
SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson (Banned Book)
Beloved by Toni Morrison (Banned Book)
A Prayer For Owen Meany by John Irving (Banned Book and my crazy attempt at a vlog)
A WHOLE lot of links to other banned book related posts for the big giveaway!
Also – winner of the Banned Book Week Giveaway package is:
Nise from Under The Boardwalk
YAY Nise!!! Shoot me your address and I will get that out to you!
As I mentioned above I also finished the two audio books but will post about them this week… I wanted to keep this past week all banned… all week.
That said, Banned book Week was fun but also a lot of work so I am glad to be free to read what I want to and need to read this week. I am keeping it simple….
Ok… ha ha… maybe this book does not qualify for”keeping it simple” but October is Classic Month for our book club and this is the classic for October 11th and from the groans I am hearing from the rest of the Bookies, I had better get on this… plus – we are dressing up for the review so I must get some insight! 😀
Ahhh…. but of course Pride and Prejudice is most likely not a sit down and read in one sitting style book so I am hoping to break it up with the final book in the trilogy I have been reading. SO EXCITED to get into this one!
AND – this is the week my review is due for the local Her Voice Magazine…. it is due in by the 5th on a Christmas/holiday read…. my choice…. curious what I picked? 😉
I have a pretty solid week, we are serving for IHN this week which I coordinate, and the reads I picked will keep me busy in between work and all of that. As for audio, I am hoping to finish The Night Circus this week so I am not adding any new audio to the week. 😀
SO there it is and I am so excited to see what you are doing for Fall reads…. please link up your Monday What Are You Reading post below where it says click here. 😀 Have a super week!!!

Two great books lined up for this week! But, be careful – once you start Monsters of Men you might not be able to put it down to go back to P&P. 🙂
Thanks Alita – and thanks for the warning too 😀
Congrats to Nise….and to everyone who participated in the Banned Books Week.
Have a great week coming up….
YAY Laurel! I cant wait to see what you are reading?

Enjoyed your Banned Books Week, congrats to Nise on her big win 🙂
Can’t wait to hear whether Monsters of Men lives up to the rest of the series. Have a great week and happy reading!
Have you started this series yet Sheree? It is sooooo good!
Hi Sheila – I missed linking and visiting the past couple of weeks. Looks like you’ve been busy and we both read Forbidden over the past weeks. I’m glad you’re enjoying the Ness trilogy. Sounds like a good series to me! Have a good week.
Thanks Martha, glad to see you around 😀
You had a fantastic week! I love that you stuck to all banned books all week, I may have to see if I can work that into the schedule next year. A full week of only banned books sounds amazing!
And YAY! for Monsters of Men! I can’t wait to see what you think of it. Enjoy and have a fabulous week! 🙂
It was fun Danielle as I actually read some authors I had always wanted to – like Virginia Woolf!
Beloved is next on my read list!
I will be interested in your thoughts on it!
Well done on the banned books, it’s a great theme for the week 🙂
Thanks Sophia, I really had a good time with it.
P&P is one of my favorites. I hope you and the Bookies will like it. I have heard good things about Monsters of Men. I hope you enjoy these and your mystery book. I still need to start The Night Circus. I am curious to find out what you think of it. Have a great week!
Thanks Christina, I am hoping P & P is not as hard as I have been hearing… 😛
Have a good week Sheila
I have just chosen my first audiobook, after seeing you regularly listening to them.
I have added it to my It’s a Monday…
carol
Oh good Carol – I hope it is a good one!
Congrats to Nise and Lori! Yay!
Hope you have a great week, Sheila!
Thanks – you enjoy your week too 😀
I think you’ll enjoy Pride and Prejudice – I did when I read it. It does take a little while to adjust to the language, but once you do, you’ll be hooked.
I hope I do Kathy, it has been on my list to read for a long time 😉
I recently reread Pride and Prejudice and loved it…now I want to read all Jane Austen’s other books!
Can’t wait to see the pictures of you all dressed up!
Have a great week!
I cant wait to sit down and get into it Kristin!
It sounds like last week was a good week for you. Congrats to the winners. Have a great week!
Thanks Tammy 🙂
Ooh! I can’t wait to read your thoughts on Monsters of Men. Happy reading!
I am really excited to start it!
I’m currently reading a book I got from a garage sale for .50 cents! It’s called “The Piano Shop on the Left Bank” by Thad Carhart. So far, it’s very good! I recommend reading it! 🙂
I love those secret find books! Enjoy!
You had an amazing week!!!!!!!! I have already added the Banned Books Week to next year’s calendar so I can prepare and participate!!!
Oh good Lori – I cant wait to improve on this past weeks event!
I am reading two at the same time:
1. My Russian Grandmother and Her American Vacuum Cleaner by
Meir Shalev
2. Code Triage by Candace Calvert
Haven’t posted here for a long time but want to get back in the habit.
Both sounds very good Carol!
Happy Monday everyone!

Happy Monday Peggy! 😀
Oh, I love Pride and Prejudice! In fact, I’ve read it several times. It’s such great fun. Right now, I’m reading Almost a Crime by Penny Vincenzi and it’s absolutely compulsive!
I am glad to hear your enthusiasm over P and P Jessica 😀

Wow! You are going to be super busy this week! Good luck with all that!
You have no idea….LOL…. my non reading life has hit overdrive this week too… it is going to be a bumpy ride 😀
I want to re-read P&P with you! Happy reading this week!
I would love you to Alison.. you could be a guest “Bookie!” 😀
Wow, I’m very impressed by all your activity on Banned Books Week! Nice job!
Looks like you have a good week lined up this week, too – a very nice mix. Enjoy your books –
Sue
Thanks Sue… I happened to have a pretty quiet week so that helped a lot 😀
Can’t wait to see what you think of Monsters of Men. I thought it was a great ending to the series.
I cant wait to get to it Jenners… 😀
A mystery book! What could it be?
I have to break up classics with other reads as well. They can be so… word heavy…
Right… I may post on the book “of mystery” in the morning….
Thanks for all the Banned Books love, Shelia. I learned a lot!
You’ve also talked me into re-trying The Ask and the Answer. I loved Knife, but Ask was so different, and the kid so dense, that I stopped somewhere in the beginning. This time I’ll have to power through. Everyone is still raving about all three.
P&P book is a bit different than the movies. I hope your group likes it.
11 comments and counting…
Oh good Chris, I am so glad you enjoyed Banned Book week! I always learn something too. I am glad you are giving The Ask and The Answer another try, it took me a while to get into it – but once you are there it really takes off…. LOVED IT. 😀
I’ve read Owen Meaney about 15 years ago (more or less) and Beloved around 10 years ago…where does the time fly? Both very good books.
Yes, I think books that are important to read in a life time.
unbelievable but i think I forgot to leave a comment when i linked my post Monday night.
so i finally got my hands on Owen Meany and started it. but I’m still reading the Twilight saga which i started during BBW. am 3/5 done with Eclipse.
have also started Night Circus
still hope to return to East of Eden which i started for bbw same day i started Twilight.
it is way atypical of me to be reading multiple fiction stories at once. it makes me feel i have multiple heads that i’m trading back and forth between.
