Morning Meanderings… BBAW – Time For A Giveaway

Oh I am so excited it is BBAW (Book Blogger Appreciation Week).  I look forward to this each year as a time to celebrate those of us who blog about our love for books.  I have to tell you, three years ago, I did not know Book Bloggers existed.  When I blindly stumbled into this world… I have never looked back.  My life changed that day for the better.

I wish I could put into words how much I enjoy my time chatting books with all of you.  Each of you who stop in and visit, I enjoy your comments so much.  As we carry on conversations and for those who have blogs that I read too, I get to know a bit of you and that is pretty cool.

This week I hope to celebrate with all of you our love for books.  So this morning I am giving away one of the books I have been hanging on to for a while for just such an occasion….

a new (still in the gift wrap) copy of The Night Circus!!!  SSQQUUUEEE!!!

I have not read this one yet but from the hype I have heard this is one not to miss!  I hope to read my copy  yet this week and I am excited to be able to share it with one of you!

To enter, please leave a comment on this post about what you enjoy most about book blogs.  Also note – you can receive a second (and possibly a third) by commenting on my Blog swap interview also posted today.  **Giveaway is open as well to international.  😀

**This is a one day giveaway…. tomorrow morning I will announce the winner.  😀

  1. Is this limited to a certain country? If not: please enter me 🙂

What I like best about book blogs is that it allows you to see the many ways in which people react to books & get to know the persons behind the blogs along the way.

  2. Wow, what a great giveaway!! I rarely enter giveaways anymore, but I definitely want to enter this one.

Can I give two favorite things about book blogs? One is defintiely the community and support. The other is that even when I’m not actively looking for new-to-me books (like the one you’re giving away), somehow I still always manage to find them on book blogs, and that’s just awesome!

Can’t wait to read the interview – I already read Lu’s with you and I’m so glad you guys met!

  3. What I like most about book blogs is the book reviews. But I also enjoy the book giveaways, and the chance to win some great books.

  4. Awesome giveaway!

What I love most is the community, and the way that my reading boundaries have been stretched by the recommendations I have received from other bloggers!

  5. What I like about book blogs is dicovering new authors and new genres that I don’t typically read and realizing how much I love it!

  6. With the cornucopia of books that are already published and the unending new books being written it becomes apparent rather quickly that there are but a limited number of reading hours that most readers can devote to reading so the importance of picking the precise book to read becomes inevitably an important decision. I enjoy reviewing and reading books and almost all my decisions are based on personal Blog reviews from dedicated bloggers that have devoted their time to giving honest appraisal of books.

  7. My favorite thing about book blogs is to read the book blogs others have written. There is always a photo, a book review or a personal experience that will inspire me. It’s really a joy to freely read the words of excited and happy bloggers.

Have a heard a lot about The Night Circus. Would luv to read it.

  8. I like it that someone actually wants to hear about what I’m reading. My dh really doesn’t care. Yeah book bloggers! I only entered the world of blogging in January of this year, so I’m still a newbie.

  9. Interaction! I love hearing others thoughts on the books I’ve reviewed or any other posts I’ve had.

I read and was on Goodreads for awhile before I started my blog and starting the blog has brought me TONS of new friends!

  10. I enjoy reading the reviews the most. If there was no book reviews, it would be less I read. A large portion of the books I read are based on recommendations.

  11. Book covers. I know, that’s a weird thing to love about book blogs, but I love seeing all the many book covers I might have missed because I buy a lot of my books on kindle and sometimes miss out on how gorgeous some of the titles are. Thanks to a few book bloggers I follow religiously because our tastes are so close, I’ve found some of my favorite books I might not have otherwise. I love book bloggers! Oh! Two things? I like how smart book bloggers are. They’re reviewers, sure, but they seem to get things about books that only other book lovers will find important. I feel like these reviews were written just for me.

  12. Oh… my favorite thing about book blogs is getting great book recommendations from them. Between blogs and goodreads, I find some great books!! Thank you!!

  13. Book blogging has opened up the world of books in amazing ways. I’ve always loved to read, but by connecting with other book lovers, I have expanded the kinds of books I enjoy and I actually read more! Reviewing them and sharing my thoughts with others extends the life of the reading experience. And when someone else sees something that I see in that book, I feel validated!

Thanks, Sheila, for this wonderful opportunity.

  14. One of my favorite things about book blogging is the reading and learning what other readers think about a certain book especially one that I’ve read. Inevitably, other readers have perspectives, ideas, thoughts different than m own on the same book. It helps me to open my mind and think about what I read in different, larger ways. Book blogging totally enriches the reading experience!

Thank you for this fantastic giveaway!

  15. I have just recently dove into the world of book blogs and I am completely in love! What I love most is reading about new books and adding them to my TBR pile which seems never ending. I thoroughly enjoy your blog and look forward to reading it each morning in my email. Thanks for your fresh perspective and inspiration! I am considering joining the book blogger community one day with my own book blog. 🙂

PS – thanks for the fabulous giveaway!

  16. I love finding out about new books before I go to the bookstore & I feel as if I really get to know the blogger as a person & a friend! Thank you for your wonderful blog Sheila!

  17. what i love about book blogs is the sense that i’m among kindred hearts. my whole life before the web such were scarce, I was mocked, teased, outcast and shamed for always having my nose in a book.

Night Circus sounds incredible and just my kind of story. I checked my library immediately and found it on-order and got in queue–was the first so that right there was a benefit of book blogs as I’d otherwise not have learned of the book until the queue was a mile long.. 🙂

but even tho I have the library copy as back up i’d still be thrilled to win this one. 🙂

  18. Great giveaway.

I love discovering new authors and books that I would never find on my own.

Also realizing that I am not the only book obsessed person out there is a nice feeling too.

  19. What I like about book blogs is coming across new books, meeting new people (community) and I love a good giveaway. Like this one. Thank you, and do look over at my blog for another giveaway.

  20. What I love about book blogs is that they are represent my peeps. Even if we’re not all best buds, we’ve got a common interest that binds us together. And that’s pretty neat.

  21. WOW!!! What a giveaway!! I am a newcomer to blogs having only started to explore this before unknown world a few short months ago. I have always been an avid book reader but had no idea there were so many others who read and enjoyed books as much as me. Learning about the world of blog has given me a new insight into both books and myself. Reading can be such a solitary persuit, having the world of blogs to access can turn it into a a shared experience. I now feel like I have a whole new community of friends. Thanks for all that you do for the world of reading!!!

  22. If you can send this book to Belgium, than I would like to enter.
I love reading bookblogs… Mostly to get to know new books, but also because no one in my ‘real’ life reads books as I do. Now, with book blogs I can get to know about all these different genres and about the people behind the blogs. Therefore I love reading your Morning Meandering posts. They always bring a smile on my face. Thank you for that.

  23. I love how book blogs give me a chance to connect with other readers. They’re community-building in that they bring tons of different readers together. It doesn’t matter where you live; it’s easy to meet other readers through book blogs!

  24. I love when you surprise us with these giveaways! Thank you! I would love to read this! I also haven’t been on the blog for a bit but I like the new look. Softer on the eyes. (getting old I’m a fraid or just reading too much lol!) Have a great day! I’ll keep my fingers and toes crossed! (I promise not to walk that though lol!)

  25. What I love most about book blogs is the discovery of books and genres I would never attempt. I’ve really spread my wings in reading this past year.

  26. Oh, how I covet this book! What do I love about book blogs? I love the ability to make new friends, learn about new books and just share the things that I love (like chances to read a book I covet). 🙂 Thanks for the chance. This is a great giveaway!

  27. What Heidi said–I love talking about the books I read. My hubby just says “hm”. I also love “meeting” new authors, and hearing what they have to say. Sooooo much more interesting than just reading the back cover blurb. 🙂 Thanks for the giveaway!

  28. Book blogs for me are like a 24-7 Book Club. I love the recommendations, the disappointments, and especially the books that garner both from different sources. What an awesome diversity of viewpoints and experiences we collectively bring to books.

  29. I love that books brings together a diverse group of people, across cultures, age groups etc and it is a safe place to share your love of books with.

Seems like Night Circus was executed to perfection, hope you love it, I’ll keep fingers crossed to win it.

  30. I think my favorite thing about book blogs is learning about books or authors I’d either never heard of, or never would have considered just by seeing a book on the displays in the book store. And that I’m not alone in my (what my family thinks is odd) book collecting quirks.

  31. Thanks for the great giveaway! There has been so much buzz about this book! One of the must-read titles for fall it seems like.

Basically what I enjoy most about book blogs is being able to connect with others who share my love of books. And I also love finding out about books I probably wouldn’t have heard about otherwise. Even though it means my bookshelves are exploding!

  32. I would love to read Night Circus. I love all the recommendations that I get via book bloggers. They gotten me to read outside my comfort zone with graphic novels and memoir. Its been a great experience. Thanks for the giveaway. savvyverseandwit at gmail

  33. Ahhh! I want this book so bad! Thanks for the chance at it! My favorite thing about book blogs is that they’ve gotten me to expand my horizons a bit. When I started, I was all about Classics and Literature, but these days I mix it up with a lot of genre fiction (and even some non-fiction) as well.

    roofbeamreader(at)gmail(dot)com

  34. oh well, you didn’t said if this giveaway was international. if it is. please count me in.
What I like most about book blogs is the book reviews and the giveaways!

  35. How exciting! I have read so many good things about this
book via book blogs…That is one reason I enjoy book
blogs~ getting bloggers reviews and takes on various
genres of books! Also, I enjoy author interviews on
    book blogs.
    Many thanks, Cindi

  36. What I love the most about book blogs are the bloggers. I’ve had many different types of blogs…photography, fitness, one for memes and one just for everyday ramblings. By far, book bloggers are the nicest group of people I’ve ever met online.

  37. I enjoy book blogs because for years I was surrounded by friends and family that weren’t big readers. And I’d try again and again to get people to read and discuss books, and they’d look at me like I was crazy. In book blogging, I finally found a community of people just like me! I love it!

    1. oops I forgot to say what I like about blogging-it is fun to meet new people and just learn about everyone’s lives and their books and interests.

  38. I read this morning but had to get to Borders for one last shopping trip and I wanted to wait until the interveiws were posted. I just read your interview her (comment to come) and now I’ll go read her interview with you.

What I loves the most is the interation with other readers who are just as much in love with books as I am.

I so want this book, so thanks for the chance.

  39. I love blogs because I get to learn about new books and broaden my horizons towards stuff I wouldn’t otherwise read. And I get to learn a lot from fellow bloggers!

  40. Wow, what a great giveaway! Thanks for the opportunity! There are so many things I love about book blogs, but I think the best thing is all the new reads I’ve discovered- by seeing what likeminded people like to read, I’ve expanded the things I read a lot.

  41. My favorite part is the community of people who share my common interest in books! I don’t have that in real life 🙂

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  42. Book blogs are fabulous for honest reviews and up-coming releases. I have discovered new authors & their works.

    marypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com

  43. I enjoy getting reliable information on the books I should check out next and what I should probably avoid.

I also like communicating with people from all over– meeting & sharing ideas with so many intelligent individuals.

  44. I love reading what other people thought about books and connecting with other readers/bloggers over a shared passion. Seeing titles on other peoples blogs helps me when I am at the library or bookstore in deciding if I want to read something or not.

  45. First, I need to tell you, I love the new blog look! Love it! I saw it when you first posted about it but was a lazy blog reader and did not comment.

What I love about book blogging is that I have been able to meet some great people such as yourself. I find it very interesting that without blogging in my life at how much smaller my world would have remained! I am so glad that my world has opened up vastly.

  46. I have seen Night Circus reviewed on a couple of blogs and it sounds like a cool book. And in fact that brings me to why I love book blogs so much, they give a fantastic way to learn about books you haven’t heard of before or may not have normally picked up off the shelf. I’m pretty new to the blogging community but so far I’m loving it!

  47. oh my you are giving away such a lovely book. Thanks so much for the chance. I love book blogs because I love books and book blogs give me everything I need like book info, reviews and most importantly the chance to interact with other books bloggers all over the world. I met new friends online who share the same passion with books and that is such a lovely experience.

  48. One of the things l love about Book Blogs is that I get to discover books to read! I’ll get lost in the bookstore and going thru the book bloggers help somewhat get an idea where to start. 😉
