Good Morning! I am done with my coffee and the car is warming in the garage. Before I head out for a work day, Group Power this late afternoon, and my first Special Event planning this evening – I had to share with you two books that I am excited about becoming movies in 2011.
First in February, I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore is coming out in movie format. I received this book in May, have yet to read it, but have heard wonderful things about it. The movie trailer makes me even more curious:
Another book to movie I am super excited about is The Help by Kathryn Stockett. This movie is set for August of 2011. No movie trailer yet, but I had a sneak peek at a few pictures last night that made me excited to see what they do with this!

I think The Help could be a great movie, definitely.
I am really excited about that one Hannah!
I agree, I can’t wait to see what The Help movie will be like! I’m almost afraid to see the movie because I liked the book so much 🙂
They are all ready anticipating it will win awards….. I really enjoyed the book too.
Like The Book Girl I’m almost afraid to see “The Help” because it was one of my favorite books this year. I do hope they don’t ruin it, but the fact that Sissy Spacek is in it gives me hope.
Oh I am excited – I think it will add to the book. (Hopefully) 🙂
Hunger Games! I also have been seeing previews for “I am Number 4”. I haven’t read the book, though it’s on my shelf. The previews for the movie have me itching to get it though.
OOH! I forgot about Hunger Games – I will have to look to see when that is set for…. must go opening night if possible 🙂
Oh, I was very excited to read about The Help coming to the big screen—and Sissy Spacek! She plays a fabulous southern character (maybe because she grew up in the South!).
All of the actors in this sound really good.
I don’t think I can wait until next summer…sigh….
Sissy will be awesome – I love to see her still acting. And I cant wait for summer either Laurel, but that’s because I am no fan on winter 😉
I’m sure The Help will be wonderful and this is the first I have heard of Sissy Spacek being in it! I’ll be reading this one with my book group in the spring so I think I foresee a movie night with these ladies!
I am hoping my book club will read The Help as a group before the movie comes out so we can all go see it. That would be fun 🙂
I am also very excited about the movie being made of “The Help.” People will flock to it.
I think so too lomaurice! 😀
I’m excited to see The Help.
Me too Linda! I love putting events like this on my calendar for 2011. 😀 Makes the year look exciting! 😀
Wow, The Help is going to be a movie already?! I’m excited about Water for Elephants.
Oh yes Kathy thats right – Water For Elephants – I have to make note of that one too. That was also a book club read for us! 😀
Of course! Why am I not surprised that they’re making The Help into a movie? Every good movie, it seems, is based on a good book.
Right Caryn – that is so true 🙂
I’ll probably watch The Help before I get to the book in my TBR mountain!!
Staci – read the book first…. seriously – you can’t wait that long to read the book 🙂
I’m stocked about The Help, too! The pictures look like their doing a great job with translating it visually.
Lisa – I think so too! 😀
Both of those should be really really really great movies…my husband is in Minnesota yet again…I think we might be moving there!!!
Really Patty? Then you could join in on our meet ups – how fun! 😀
I am looking forward to the adaptation of The Help. 🙂
Cant believe we have to wait until Fall 2011Stephanie 🙂
I’m really excited for The Help too!
I think it will be a huge success Amused!
I just finished reading I Am Number Four a couple of weeks back. Personally, I liked the book but I’ve read some negative reviews as well. Anyway, the only reason I picked it up was because of the movie buzz and I wanted to read the book first before the movie is released. Anyway, have a good reading week ahead!
I am excited to read it!
