Morning Meanderings… North Shore Here I Come!!!!

Ahhh… yes you caught that right.  FINALLY – I am heading up to our cabin for sure this time.  I am going with Amy from my book club and Sara who I used to work with.    We are leaving later afternoon and making the three plus hour trek but it will be so worth it.  😀

Total SQUEEEEEEE moment.

Maybe it is a double squee moment…..

SQUUUUUUUEEEEEEEE!!!   SQQQQUUUUEEEE!!!

Ok now I can move on.  We have no real big plan – that is the beauty of the cabin.  It is a festival weekend in Beaver Bay Minnesota and I try to go every year.  They have a blueberry festival, craft fairs, their library sale, boat races, street dances, and more…  I make chicken fajita, we can build a camp fire and roast smores, sit in lawn chairs and read….

Uhhhh….. what?

Oh yeah – I did mention a Library sale there didn’t I?  yes, Silver Bay has its library sale this weekend too and last year I left with a couple of grocery bags full.  As Amy says, we are both in need of some reading material…..LOL  😀

So that’s the plan but know things will be active here.  I have not had internet reception in the past at the cabin but we now have new internet and I have a chip I can bring with that will give me internet wherever I have cell phone coverage.  Either way if I am on it will not be much but I do have posts prepped for my absence…..  😀  The Icing On The Cupcake review will be up today.

Last years cabin weekend

I will catch up on all the conversation when I get back on Sunday!  Have a super fab weekend!

  1. Oh, I’m so there with you in spirit! Love the cooler air up where cabins reside.

But wait…have you read Still Missing?

    Creepy cabin story…

    Have a great weekend!

  2. I love, love, love our library book sales! I’ve gotten some great books for $1 or even 50 cents. It’s a very inexpensive way to add to your library! My book find of the past week, in fact, involves learning to spend less. It’s a free e-book, “29 Days to a Habit You Want,” which you download (obviously) and then find a plan to lasting change. You focus on one manageable goal and make it your focus for 29 days, creating new, good habits where once you had bad ones.

Have a great weekend at your cottage and fun at the sale. I am very, very envious!

    1. Hi Liz! I love these sales too – our brainerd one is 50 cents across the board and I load up! 😀 I think the Silver Bay one is $1 a piece but still a good deal and a good cause 🙂

  3. Have fun on the North Shore. I was suppose to go back in June, but had to change plans. I still hope to get to Duluth this summer.

  4. So, THAT’s how you get out of the hubby cancelling trips! I’ll have to plan a getaway with the girls too!

Sounds like it will be a wonderful week-end! Have a blast!

  5. Have a great time with your gal pals Sheila! I hope you find your fill of grocery bags at the library sale. I’m hitting B&N this weekend. All of my friends were kind enough to give me gift cards for my birthday and they are burning a hole in my wallet! Drive safe. Enjoy!

  6. I am currently living in Vermont but my Dad lives in Silver Bay, Minnesota. I follow your blog for some Minnesota moments and of course all things bookish and was so happy to see Silver Bay and Beaver Bay highlighted in this entry!! Makes me miss home. Maybe I’ll see you up there sometime when I’m visiting the family. I told my husband that the only place I’d move to, if we were to leave Vermont, would be back to Minnesota! Hope you didn’t clean out the libraries, I need something to read when I visit!

  7. Since you are back by now, I hope you had a great time. I haven’t peeked, and can’t wait to see what you got at the library sale. I tried to convince my hubby to go to the used book store here in Nashville, but no luck. He went back to work today, so I am without a car and public transportation, except cabs, doesn’t come out here. My daughter is due in tonight. I’ll working on convincing her that she needs to go to the bookstore. The library I went to had no book sale area. Told us they have the sale only one Saturday a month. My husband thanked them. He is justified. I have way too many books and am not reading fast enough.

A good weekk for staying in here. It has been in the mid ti upper 90’s. With the heat index, it is over 100. Not good weathwewr for doing much outside. I think the kids whenn they get here will be spending lots of time in the pool. Since they need to relax, that is a good thing.
