Morning Meanderings…

Happy Fourth of July Everyone!  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  We had a gorgeous Saturday here and we went biking (motor – biking) with friends.  It was a great stress reliever and nice time for Al and I just to get away for an afternoon.

I came home Saturday happy and extremely warm.  I finished up two books I have been reading and wrapped up an audio as well.  Reviews will be coming up over the next few days.  Not a lot to say this morning as I have an early commitment today – but have a safe and happy 4th everyone!  😀

  1. Glad to hear you had a great day yesterday-we are having cool cool weather here-great for a 30 mile ride not so good for the beach-I finished off Saving CeeCee Honeycutt and baked hummingbird cupcakes and rice krispie squares before heading off to the beach yesterday.

  2. Coffee Cup is celebrating too, I see! Love it!

What a fabulous time you have everyday…even when you’re working, you always seem to find the joy in the moments.

I enjoy reading your posts with all the wonderful tidbits…

    Happy Fourth!

  3. My husband and I are going for a motorcycle ride today. It is relaxing, isn’t it? Have you guys ever been to Sturgis, South Dakota? We did that years ago. It is somethin’ to see, that’s for sure! lol We also went to Daytona for Bike Week one year. My husband is a Harley guy; I just go along for the ride. When my son goes to college we’re going to do a road trip to see the Grand Canyon and other sites. Wouldn’t that be fun on a motorcycle? Just ride for a week or 10 days?

    Have a great 4th, Sheila!

    1. Lynne – the whole motorcycle thing is fairly new to us. We have friends who have done Sturgis, but not us.

We may go on a road trip in late August through Canada and around the North Shore…. havent figured out if we can get away to do it yet. 🙂

      1. Really? Your husband’s attire makes him look like he’s been riding forever. A Canada road trip would be AMAZING! You should go if you can. Imagine the memories you’d make…

      2. Lynne I think he looks like a character out of that movie Wild Hogs – LOL 🙂

I think our only concern on the ride is that we really have not done any long distance riding…. no turning back once you are out there you know…. and we have no real experience riding in poor weather (ok, two concerns…LOL)

  4. Nice picture of you & Al. My hubby has a Harley as well. I don’t ride with him too often, but he plans at least one big trip every year. I think it is Montana this year. A few years back him & a buddy made it all the way down to Mexico!

  5. You both look so happy and relaxed! What a great way to relieve stress and have fun. I don’t see helmets in the photo…please tell me you wear them (how’s that for a mom comment?!)

    1. We do wear helmets Helen – and I thought of that when we took the picture. We had stopped at a friends cabin and we had just got back on the bike when the picture was taken. 🙂

  6. I am a weeeee bit late but….they say better late than ‘being so idiotic as not to find time to wish someone the 4th of July at least somewhat before the festivities end’ ! So, Happy 4th Sheila !!
I was busy with a fever that would not go away. I tried my level best to ditch it…I read a Robin Cook, a Patterson, a Dickens……….but it only went after I started to read the morning news….[ actually after that, I started coughing ].

  7. My kind of woman!! We traded in our Harley for a boat and convertible. I do miss the freedom of the open road on the bike though. I hope you had fun!

  8. Hope you had a great 4th. The weekend started off well. I missed being with my hubby, but we went down to the river with my Dad (I am at my sister’s) and watched fireworks. My sister’s friend set off quite a display. Three other people on our side of the river and four across the river were also setting them off. From our spot we could see the fireworks in Williamsburgh, Busch Gardens, and Yorktown. The weather was perfect and made for a pleasant evening.
