It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

I love being a part of this and I hope you do too!  As part of this weekly meme I love to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme.  I offer a weekly contest for those who visit 10 or more of the Monday Meme participants and leave a comment.  You receive one entry for every 10 comments, just come back here and tell me how many in the comment area.

Last weeks winner (using Random.Org) was:

Lydia Presley

I think this past week went fairly well.  There were a few nights that I didnt get on the computer at all but instead used that time to read.  Looking over the past week I am pretty excited about all I accomplished:

Review:  Dovey Coe by Francis O’Roark Dowell (a quick read that captured me from beginning to end)

Review:  Dreaming of Dior by Charlotte Smith (I LOVED this book!)

Choose The Next Book I read and Win it for yourself (yup – this is still on until Wednesday!)

Review:  Chosen:  House Of Night audio by PC Cast (a case where the narrator made the story so wonderful…. but the story line short for me)

Author Chat with Sarah Pekkanen (author of Opposite of Me) – SQUEEEEEE!!!!

Opposite of me signed giveaway of two books (SQUEEEEEEE again!!!)  😀

Review:  Suite Scarlet by Maureen Johnson audio (Cute audio – 1st Maureen Johnson experience)

Audio Books:  Can You Hear Me Now? In celebration of Audio Book Week I lay out what I think is what audios so awesome and why you should too 🙂

So yeah…. looking over this past week…. I did kick a little literary booty.  😀

So let me see if I can pull off a Venti (that’s really big in coffee talk) week again this week.  Here is what I am planning to complete:

I am sailing through this audio of Step On A Crack the first book in the Michael Bennett series (although I have already read the other two that follow….)

Long overdue from its stay on the TBR shelf, I am flying through this read.

A treat for me out of the BEA stash – can’t wait!  Cant wait!!!

The “mystery” book that you my readers have asked me to read out of the choose my next book post.  This book will be the one taking me into the weekend!

And finally, I have it on good faith that I am going to have an author chat here with an author I am  so excited to spend a little time with as I recently finished the book and have so much to talk about!

Enough about me!  I am prepared to stop in and see what you are reading this week and plan on adding to my TBR list through my travels through your posts!  Please link here by clicking below where it says Click here.  That way we can all stop in and see what everyone is reading this Monday!  😀

  1. I loved Twenty Boy Summer. I haven’t read the others that you are planning to read this week but I hope you enjoy them.

I liked your interview with Sarah Pekkanen. I can’t wait to read it but I am 8th on the waiting list. I have the e-book of Suite Scarlett but I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet.

    Have a great week!

  2. You definitely had a venti week! Hope you have a venti week ahead! 🙂 Haven’t heard of any of the books on your next week’s list, but Twenty Boy Summer has caught my eye!

  3. I read Twenty Boy Summer last year and loved it, it’s a whole lot deeper than the title suggests. Can’t wait to see what your “mystery” book is.
Have a great week and happy reading 🙂

  4. You had a big week! My busy week was week before last, got a lot of reading done and then last week finished ONE book. and almost another…Yup! back to the sporadic reading LOL

  5. Hi Sheila – I managed three books last week- but you had a bumper week.

I am forever adding to my TBR pile when I visit other people’s blogs and feast my eyes on what they’re reviewing.

I wonder if publishers realise how powerful bloggers are in influencing what books are read?

  6. Hi Sheila! It has been A LONG, LONG time since the last time I participate in this weekly event, but after all I’m glad be back and hope this trend continues *lol*

I’m very excited to see that you’ve Twenty Boy Summer among your other *stash* there. I’ve heard so many good things about this book and am hoping I’d be lucky enough to read it too one day.

Hope you enjoy your week. Have a great day =)

  7. I hope you’ll enjoy Twenty boy Summer, I liked it but didn’t love it though. It’s a good summer read:)
it’s my first time doing the meme too yay!

  8. You really did have a great week. I downloaded my first audiobook this week (Audible offered me one for free) but I don’t know when I’ll have time to listen to it. Have another great week. Happy reading!

    1. Kathy that’s how I got started with Audible, on the trial. I hope you enjoy it. I listen while getting ready in the morning or while relaxing on my deck.

  9. You had a great week! I’m averaging about 4 books a week these days. Not too bad. Now if only I could finish listening to that one audio book.

    1. Kathy – I really liked the authors story behind the title when she spoke at the Author Carnival…. it sounded like something I would have thought up in my high school days…LOL

    1. Tea – LOL you are cracking me up! This is one of the books that I received when I toured Simon Schuster in New York with Sarah Pekkanen. I think it is available on Amazon and normally I link the pictures on my reviews to the Amazon item so start there. 🙂

  10. Hi!
I read James Patterson’s new Worst Case. It was pretty good, but I don’t think he’s written a book I DIDN’T like. I have visited 10 book blogs, well, a few more than that. Have a great day!

    1. Hi Sherrie – I have started with Pattersons audios through Hachette and truly love them all. I have read some of his older books and hope to read a few of the newer ones soon. 🙂

  11. Thanks for letting me participate in your weekly meme and hope to learn even more from the wonderful book readers I meet through this journey.

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat

  12. “Evolution of Shadows” is a quick read–it’s so tense and you can’t put it down even though sometimes it’s really hard to keep reading.

  13. I haven’t read any of James Patterson’s books, so many to choose from but the Michael Bennett series sounds like a good place to start.

    Have a great reading week.

    Hi Sheila !
The ‘Evolution Of Shadows’ looks damn interesting to me especially the cover. It gives off a weird feeling of a paranormal subject and yet peaceful, something to read at the dead of night.

I’ve been studying so, time for some well deserved Robin Cook.
Theology in these few days has been fascinating, especially the history behind the Dead Sea Scrolls.

    Enjoy your day !

Happy Monday! I started reading In Her Shoes yesterday after Sarah Pekkanen said it was her favorite book during your interview with her. Since I enjoyed The Opposite of Me so much, I trust Sarah’s opinion. 🙂 Looks like a busy week for you. Stay away from the Snickers. 🙂

Lots of hope for books. We will see what happens. 🙂 Hope you have another amazing week, in words and pages. 😉

  21. I commented on the first ten blogs listed under Mr Linky. I am not sure if this is the right area to tell you this for the contest though…

    1. Joy it is absolutely the right area to tell me. 😀 I go through the list of comments and pick out all the ones that have told me here that they have commented on ten or more and then assign them a number and go to Random.Org. 🙂

  22. I’m always amazed at the amount of books you are able to get through! I think I got through 4 1/2 and was pretty darn proud of me! Twenty Boy Summer is one that I have on our TBR list.

Oh! I’m listed twice in the linky because the first link was BAAAD! I don’t know what happened there!
