Morning Meanderings…

Go Coffee Pot Go!!!

Is it wrong to rush the coffee pot?  I am zipping around this morning as I have a full day and I am starting it off with a big 9 am meeting that I want to look brilliant for.  I have a couple of things I need to prep prior to this meeting in order for the “brilliance” to have full effect. Part of this meeting is I need to have read chapters 19 and 20 out of the book the me I want to be by John Ortberg.  Love Ortberg so this is no homework assignment at all…. this is – dessert.

😀

And when today is all said and done I am going to enjoy what is supposed to be a beautiful day by rollerblading with my friend Wendy.  The last week has been rainy, drizzly, damp, overcast, gloomy, cold…. and darn right frustrating.  I have roller bladed and biked in this last week in rain sprinkles.  I really want to be done with that.  My final award of the day being this:

My favorite reading spot

This is my back deck and this is where I love to sit and read when the sun is out.  I took this picture this morning – pre sun….  but it is coming.  The weather man said, so it has to be true right?  Right?  Oh please let it be true….

Before I rush out the door I want to say that yesterdays discussion about Bookaholics was so fun!  And you probably (hopefully) have seen I have the survey up now.  I will leave that as top post for a while and then move it to the sidebar.  I hope each of you will take a moment to fill out the survey so I can get an idea of what sort of reader base I have.  It’s very short and I appreciate your help.

Have a super day!  I am back later with a review… maybe something more.  I have a couple drafted discussions that I can’t wait to pull out but they may wait….. 😉

  1. Oh, love your reading deck! You have another one you’ve depicted, too…right? Where you go with your laptop?

Your kitchen is cozy, too, and your reading room, of course! See, I feel as though I’ve visited your home. Thanks!

    Have fun rollerblading and reading.

  2. Yay! The sun is out here today too…after a week (or two or three) of gloomy gray and downpours. I’m headed to my beloved reading spot…a chair by the side of the public pool. My teens will be so happy to visit the pool on this, the second day of summer vacation! Happy rollerblading in the sun!

  3. They say a watched kettle never boils. Does the same apply to a coffee pot? I’m not sure.

A beautiful reading spot, the kind of place you could sit all day.

    1. Petty Witter, I think it may be true! I usually start it in the morning and then go get ready for my day….. that helps and then I can grab a cup of coffee by the time I do the Meandering 🙂

  4. The rain will never go away. Ever. Okay, enough pessimism. It’s been raining – and by raining I mean pouring down buckets of water – for what feels like forever here. I am so ready for some sun. Enjoy your day!

    1. Trisha… as I am reading this I am thinking, “are you my neighbor?” You are describing our weather exactly. We had a huge downpour yesterday. 🙂

  5. We had a bright beautiful day yesterday but instead of reading on the porch or patio, I sat on the Cub Cadet and tried to get as much grass mowed as possible before it started raining yet again. Today I thought I would read while it rained, but no, we had to go to Binghamton to a subcontractor’s. Oh well, at least we had lunch out. 😀

    1. My son mowed yesterday in the sprinkly weather. It was getting long and we couldn’t catch a break! If I can get a nice day I try to spend it outside (they can be rare here in Minnesota). I read or write, an do sometimes even nap on the deck . 😀

  6. There is something special about reading outside…I have a huge green pillowy hammock below our back decks and it is absolute bliss to rock and read at the same time…a few cookies and an icy drink help, too!!!

  7. I hope you get your sun. It’s been nice here but the last two days, the rain and gloomy days have returned. I hope it’s a short lived return.

  8. Sometimes we all want to rush the coffee pot, I think that’s just the way it is. Hey, maybe we should invest (or utilize, in my case) that timer setting that lets us get the coffee ready to go the night before and gets it ready for us right when we wake up! hmm …

      1. Hannah… I must be tired I read your comment twice… and I am thinking “clock… what clock”? Then I got it and now am laughing out loud because I am a little slow on the uptake today… 😀

  9. I love your reading spot! I tend to read in bed, but now I’ve seen your reading spot, I may sit and read in the garden when the weather is nice 🙂

  10. My back patio is my favorite reading spot also. Listening to the birds, watching the hummingbirds fight over the feeder, oh and dodging the occasional golf ball. 🙂 And no, it’s not wrong to rush the coffee pot, we need our fix!

  11. Well, I hope that you got your sunny say. Brian and I have just moved into a new apartment together and we have a cute little deck that I’m hoping to turn into my ideal reading area soon. I need to go out and by some outdoor furniture to spruce it up and I’m hoping that I can do that soon so that I can get out there and soak up the sun!

    1. Hi Jennifer – I did get the sunny day but was too busy to enjoy it. 🙂 I was suppose to go rollerblading with my friend but we were both running late so had iced coffee instead outside a coffee shop for about 30 minutes before wewere off to our next commitments.

      GAH! Oh well….

  12. Luckily my outside reading spot is on a covered porch. Unless it is blowing, I can usually sit out there and read if I feel like it.
Hope the sun shines for you.

Hmmmm... what do you think?
