Hi everyone. I am having a blast in New York. As promised here is a little picture “highlight reel” of what we have done so far. There will be a full BEA recap when I get home, but for now… here is a sampler:

Reagan and I went to Strand Book store on Monday afternoon to check out this book. Literally wall to wall books.

… and floor to ceiling.
Then we went to the Teen Author Carnival (SO MUCH FUN!) and…..
Squeeeee!!!! She was so amazing! I can not wait to read and review her book.
Squueee!!! She is so down to earth and fun!
Super Squeeee!!! Sarah was so awesome and I bought her book and I got is signed 😀
Violet was just fun to listen to her talk….. picture a younger JK Rowling. She is very “Londony” and I fell in love with the idea of her book while listening to her passion about telling the story. I now have a signed copy. SQUEEE!!!!
And finally just a fun moment at the carnival….
I met Amy and Natasha in person, two bloggers I truly admire.
So…. today – we are at BEA in the morning and tonight at 6 pm – Class of 2010 Debut authors event. So excited about that one too. Really I am just like a kid in a candy store.
Hope your day is super wonderful! I will be back with a review in the afternoon. 🙂
She didn’t mention, but she may have been more excited to see Natasha and Amy than anyone else! 🙂 Major SQUEE! Having a blast with you Sheila! Thanks for going on all these adventures with me!
That was pretty cool…. 🙂
Stand! Lauren Oliver! Simone Elkeles! Sarah Ockler! 😀
LOL Robby
8 miles of shelves – my dreams come true.
18 miles! 🙂
SO MANY BOOKS!
It sounds great!!! And it amazes me how you remember having your picture taken at the right moments – I’d probably just forget because of all the squee-ing!
AHhh…. leeswammes, I came right back to our hotel and prepped them so I did not forget 🙂
Sheila,
Thanks so much for sharing–big excitement in NYC! The miles of books in the bookstore you visited sounds like SO much fun…reminds me of City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco!
Thanks Linda – I wanted to share this with everyone… The San Fransisco bookstore sounds wonderful!!!
Oh, so much excitement! It’s like a bookish carnival ride, don’t you think?
Enjoy! Looking forward to reading more.
Bet your coffee is from one of those NY coffee shops…or maybe they have coffee in the bookstores!
Laurel – this is why you are a writer – GREAT description! I have been so busy I have just been on hotel coffee…. tonight however we are going to a debut author event so I may venture out into the NY coffee world! 😀
Wow !! I so wish I could go to Strand Book Store.. Have fun Sheila and give us a detailed report once u r back from BEA !!
Shweta – I plan to do just that 🙂 In the meanwhile there will be tiny day to day updates of SQUEEing! 🙂
Looks like a fun day to me, two things that would have been on the top of my list, if I was there (The Strand and meeting Amy and Natasha (and you))!!!
Hannah it was a lot of fun – there were so many book lovers and the authors did a wonderful job!
Looking forward to meeting Lauren Oliver, as I loved Before I Fall!
So jealous you’ve already begun the fun, so will have to get into town asap and catch up! 😀
Terri – cant wait, when do you get in again?
I was at both but somehow missed seeing you! Glad you had a great time though!
Amy GAH! I just posted on your blog – hopefully we will catch each other tonight or in the next few days 🙂
I love your pictures, and hate them, all at once, if you know what I mean! But I’m glad you’re having such a great time! And I do love being able to go with you vicariously!
Hi Jill – I know what you mean 🙂 I am hoping to bring some of the New York experience to this blog. I hope you can go next year – would love to meet you!
Glad you are having a great time Sheila. That ‘Knightley academy’ looks tempting………keep up the SQUEES !
Fiza – I thought so too…. love the idea of this book!
So fun! I’m loving the pics and I’m jealous of all of the fun stuff you’ve already done so early in! 🙂
Katy – I really am surprised how much fun last night was but I really enjoyed myself.
Wowsers! Looks like a blast. I love highlight reels. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Thanks K M it was a great night 🙂
You look like you’re having so much fun. Thanks for sharing, and I can’t wait to read more details later!
Looks like you’re having the time of your life!! How exciting to not only meet those amazing authors, but to get to meet all those book bloggers!!!
Hope it just keeps getting better and better for you and you keep taking photos~
18 MILES OF BOOKS??? WOW!!!
Thanks Vicki – I am trying to “trim” the pics for the morning posts as I have taken so many already… 🙂 AT the end I will do a slide show I think 🙂
Sheila,
Great Pictures and Post. Heaven In A Box, better than a candy store for me. Enjoy the rest of the conference.
Thanks Rebecca!
Sounds like you’re having a great time. I’m not sure how long I would last in Strand–usually you have to drag me kicking and screaming from bookstores but that looks a little claustrophobic to me.
Lisa I was a bit surprised of the layout – it is a bit of an odd layout, very crowded. I was hoping for spaces to sit and chill with a book but there is nothing but books. And books. Oh, and books. 🙂
The Strand is like heaven to bookies like us. Absolutely have to get back to NYC. 🙂
Barbara – yes, so much fun!!!
Sounds like you are having a great time. That Strand bookstore would be the death of me…in a good way!
Kathleen I was so good! I only bought one book! 😀
OMG! So much fun! I can’t believe you are getting to meet all these exciting authors and go to fun book stores! Enjoy!
Thanks Helen! So much fun!!! Seriously! 😀
So many books!! I could curl up and sleep like a baby among them. 🙂 My dream is to have book shelves like that!
Looks like you are having a great time! You are a lucky woman. Wish I could be there with you. 🙂
Glad to know that you are having an awesome time … You look so excited in the Strand book store and I can imagine why 🙂 Looking forward to your updates.
Sounds like a great time! I love the book shelves. And cool to meet the authors and other bloggers too. Glad you are having a wonderful time. 🙂
Fun, fun, fun! I really need to go next year!
Love love love those pictures! Especially with all the books surrounding you!
Thanks for those pics! I am jealous, but glad you had a good time! I HAVE to visit the Strand!
I need to stay away from The Strand. My house is starting to look like The Strand. What a wonderful way to spend a few hours. The YA event should be great. There are so many wonderful YA books and authors out there right now.
