Morning Meanderings…

Hello bookish people!  Are you ready for the weekend?  I am!

Yesterday was super busy but at the end of the day I felt good.  I did double work outs (morning and afternoon), ate right so I am off to a good start on the 3-1-1, the hair cut is good…. and I forgot (forgot!) to tell you that yesterday was our spring Library book sale!

I hope to have pictures up tomorrow but somewhere in my recent travels… I have lost my camera charger and therefore have a camera with no “oomph” whatsoever.  It wont even turn on.  I will remedy that today when I go purchase a new charger.

The sale was good, I had a lot of fun standing in line and talking books with people.  One lady by me is in a non fiction book club but she says they never discuss the book.

“What???”

Yup.  That’s what she said.  They choose books, but they just get together for social time.

For the first time ever I was not in the first group they let in.  They only allow so many people in at a time so the sale isnt overly crowded.  I was 5 people from the door when they made the cut off.  GAH!  I drank my coffee, chatted up books and thought about how I should have brought my business card to this captive bookish audience.

When I did get in – all books are 50 cents, paperback, hardcover….  I didn’t find that one treasure… but did walk out with $15 worth of books that look really good.  (Again, hopefully a picture tomorrow). Amy from my book  club however did find treasure when she found our book club read that we have just picked on Tuesday, Little Bee.  In Hard Cover for 50 cents.  And – I was in the sale before her and missed it.  LOL

Got to inhale my coffee here and run – I have a gym date, and today I am going to tan ( to pretend it is warm out) and get a pedicure with a gift certificate I received from my friends for my birthday.  A fun morning and then back to work this afternoon.

Any fun weekend plans for you?

  1. Double workouts! Looks like you did one for yourself and one for me! We’re pretty water-logged down here in south Florida, so if I get a workout in, it’ll be my usual DVD routine.

I love book sales, especially ones that I can afford, at least in my wallet!

Plans – I’m driving 3 hrs tomorrow to Bradenton, FL for a First Place 4 Health meeting. I’ve gotten way off track in the last year, so going to meetings like this can be very motivational. I’ve got lots of weight to lose, and it’s going to have to be one step at a time. And yes, my profile pic was taken at a healthy weight, not my current size. Ugh.

Hope you have a good workout today, and a good weekend!

  2. You can be happy you only lost your charger! Two weeks ago in Breckenridge I lost the entire (expensive!) camera! Amazingly, my husband didn’t even get mad at me, so that was the good news! :–)

    1. Oh wow. I did that once too Rhasodyinbooks. It was sad because it was at a womens event I was speaking at and I didn’t notice I didnt have it until he next day. I called the banquet facility we used and no one turned it in. Sad. My hubby took it well too. 🙂

  3. I just love library sales!!! There are times that I have found treasures and other times where I have looked at what people are buying and find that I have missed some treasures too. That’s the fun of it – LOL!!

Double workouts is fantastic…I am trying to gear myself up to getting back into walking daily. I felt so good when I was doing it…but I let the holidays throw me off course.

    Have a great weekend!!

  4. Library sales are the best ever!!! Your day sounds fantastic! I have no major plans for the weekend but I do hope to work on my book room and get some things in order and to get “real” with myself!! 😀

  5. You go girl! My daughter is coming home from college tonight for her spring break so i am looking forward to that! Tomorrow we are going to a bridal shower together so that should be a good time. Maybe go see Valentine’s Day if it’s still here?

  6. Your library sale sounds like so much fun! I missed ours this year. Though, honestly, I really don’t need to bring more books into the house!!

    1. I didnt need more books either Sue. I thought about that while I was in line. It has always been a sale I never miss and I cant imagine not doing it…. but yeah….. exercising some sort of control would be nice….

  7. Sounds like a very productive day, Sheila. I was eagerly awaiting those pictures of your new hair style, so…HURRY! LOL.

Books, too. What a great day.

Well, my daughter did mine, but she changed something in the mix and I’m not enthused about the color. It’s auburn rather than red. Now red is my signature color! *smile*

But others have said they like it, so maybe I’ll get used to it. Come to think of it, the photo I have on my blogs here is a dark red, so it hardly even seems red. She’s been changing up my color for awhile! Bad girl!

    1. Laurel – I will just say I am feeling a little blonder that I am used to but it will be fine and she did a pretty good job of watching last Aprils picture.

  8. Ahhh, book sales: music to my ears. Can’t wait to see what you picked up (I love to live vicariously through other bookish peoples finds).

This weekend I have 2 booky friends staying with me. I know them both from Goodreads (we are in the same group). One is coming from California (she is travelling round Europe) and the other is only over the pennines from me in the UK so we have met before. ” I’m taking them to the Bronte Parsonage among other places. This should be such fun!

  9. Wow–I wish all of the books at our library sale had been 50 cents–I could have gotten 24 books instead of 6! Just as well, I guess; I really didn’t need the 6 I got, let alone 18 more. Can’t wait to see what you found!

    1. I have to get the camera charger so I can take pictures. I went to Wal-Mart today and they don’t sell them…. grrrrrrr

I need to get to best buy hopefully if not yet tonight then tomorrow 🙂

  10. I can’t wait to see what you got! Bummer that you weren’t among the first group to get in, but I bet you still got some good ones!

I’m going to the monthly library sale at my local branch tomorrow. Can’t wait! I look forward to this every month. Hopefully, I’ll have some good ones for Mailbox Monday.

    Have a great weekend Sheila!

  11. Boy, what a fun day!! I’d love to do half those things you plan to do today! And, waiting for the pictures!! Of your hair cut AND the books! Oooohh… the few things women really love! 😉

  12. The book sale sounds like fun. Sorry you didn’t find any treasures, but I’m sure you still found some great books!

My weekend plans are not fun at all. I have to study for finals and work – no fun for me until Spring break, which is luckily right around the corner.

  13. Just try to find room for all my program stuff I brought home from the library and unpack more books.
