Morning Meanderings….

I feel as though I am in a sort of frenzy.  Coffee Cup and I are here this morning with an agenda over the next few days that I am having a hard time wrapping my head around.  Busy isn’t even the word for it…. insane seems the better word.

This morning I have my Group Power class at 8:25 am.  I refuse to let this go… this may be the one thing that makes the rest possible.  After that, I will come home and shower and then I have a funeral at 11:00 am for a friend of mine’s mom who passed away suddenly on Thursday.  Then home, change, and with a little luck I can get the dogs in for their kennel shots because as of Wednesday evening they need to be in a kennel until February 9 (which breaks my heart a little bit).  Then I have business phone calls to take care of and I must (I MUST) make some time this afternoon to go and see my Grandfather who is in his 90’s.

So why the suddenly  rush of events?  Because on Thursday morning we leave for Florida where my hubby attends the equipment auctions each year and we will return home on February 9.    Only to leave again on the 11th of February for Illinois for our sons graduation from the Navy.  Wonderful things, yes… but the getting there – or more like getting ready to go there is the stressful part.  In reality, my life will not settle down until February 15th after we are back home… and then Al (hubby) and Justin (19 year old son) leave for Honduras on the 18th of February and will not be back until the 28th.

Welcome to the month of insanity!  Lap Top of course will travel  with me and I will continue through it all – the meanderings, the reading, the reviews…..  and yes, I realize my Meandering meme is upside down but found that somehow appropriate….  😉

So….  looks like I have time for one more cup of coffee before I hit the ground running.  I am overstretched right now with the details in my own life…. lets talk about yours.  Any plans for trips in 2010?

  1. Good luck Sheila!

Doesn’t a SMALL small part of you thrive during times like this? I know I do. But I’m also an awful procrastinator and have thus trained myself to live and thrive with stress in my life. Hope all goes well!

    1. I think a bit Reagan – but after I get done beating myself up for not doing some of this LAST WEEK! LOL

I usually freak out when we are going on a trip, second guessing all the needs and don’t really relax until we are out of here and anything left undone is out of my hands.

  2. While your schedule today is more packed than mine, it’s going to be a busy one today. I’m just going to try to take a deep breath and jump in. And the next 4 months are going to be hectic too, now that Little League season is here. June can’t get here fast enough!

Have fun in Florida! If you come to the Treasure Coast (SE of Orlando), stop by and say hi!

    1. HI Laura – we are going to be somewhere in Orlando but not exactly sure where. We are staying at my cousins and he is going to give me directions before we leave. That would be cool if we were close to where you are at!

  3. Your upside down meme is symbolic, don’t you think? Empty cup, running on empty!

Hopefully the laptop will be like your oasis while you plunge into a flurry of activity.

    Good luck!

  4. Good luck with your busy day. No real trip plans for me as of yet. I may go and visit a friend in North Carolina but otherwise right now I will be pretty close to home.

  5. Wow, I got exhausted just from reading your post…LOL! And I’m also having visions of what my next few months are going to look like what with school (two hardcore classes this semester) and everything else! I hope you enjoy your trips despite their being hectic 🙂

The only trip I have planned for sure this year is going to my niece’s high school graduation in early June. I’m looking forward to it for that reason and also because my other niece had another baby in October and I haven’t even seen my new grand-niece yet!

    1. Michelle your plan sounds relaxing 🙂 I think mine will be too once we get out of here… it is that “getting to the point of leaving” that messes me up. 🙂

  6. I wish you all the best over the next few weeks. Just make sure you drink a lot of caffeine and eat high energy foods, we don’t want you too tired to blog.

  7. wow – what a couple of weeks you have! I am impressed that you are keeping up with your reading and blogging through it all! Good luck and safe travels!

    1. Hi Colleen – last week wasnt too impressive and lots to finish (hopefully) over the next couple of days. Once we get on the plane – lots of reading time 🙂

  8. I just love your morning meanderings! This summer we’re off to London (and other British places), Paris and…haven’t decided the rest. In February to Los Angeles to see the Harlem Globetrotters, which should be fun.

I hope all your travels go well; be safe.

  9. My life at work has been crazy busy lately and I am ready to just pull my hair out. I’m keeping in my mind though the fact that I will be lounging on the beach in Mexico for a week in the beginning of April. Then two days after I get back, I will be bringing my tanned body to rock out with Bon Jovi in St. Paul!!!! woohoo! The light at the end of the tunnel!

  10. No big plans for this year. We have to much we are planning on doing around the house here this summer. So unfortunately no traveling plans. We always like to go to the beach but it looks as another year with out sand and ocean.

  11. We got back from Washington, DC last night, just as the snow storm hit. We were supposed to come home today, but would never have made it. We took our 11 year old grandson with us and showed him some of DC. We got tickets for tours of the Capital and the White House. We hit the monuments and several of the Smithsonian buildings. There is so much, that we’ll need several more trips to do it right. We lived there 5 years and didn’t see everything (but of course, life got in the way then). We will go on a few more trips this year, but right now the only one planned is Nashville in July. I’ll be volunteering at the RWA Conference. It is probably the closest it will ever be, so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. My husband hasn’t yet decided if he will be coming. Hate to say it, but it would be nice to have a solo trip. Haven’t done that in ages and he has had several in the past few years.
