100 Mile Challenge

Fitness ChallengeOk… this is a not so bookish moment…. but hey just like a book girl has to eat, she also has to take care of herself.  So when Trish posted about this 100 Mile Challenge Between October 1 and December 31 I felt this was a great incentive to keep me on track going into these colder months.

Here’s the challenge:

Here’s how it works:
In order to complete this Challenge, you will need to “travel” 100 miles from October 1st through December 31st.

Here’s how you calculate your mileage:
*Running or walking 1 mile outside or on a treadmill equals 1 mile.

*15 minutes of other workouts equals 1 mile (elliptical, swimming, weight lifting, workout video, workout classes, etc.).

  1. It’s already 10/5, but I think I may join you on this!

In any case, good luck with the challenge – no matter how much you walk you’ll be reaping the benefits.

    1. I wish I could bike ride now! The weather is cold and rainy now…. I think I may be done until April. 😦 I dont really have a winter sport because I hate the cold.

  2. That is a really great idea. It actually sounds doable! Gasp! (Of course, I think that about all my exercise attempts.). Good luck with it! I’m sure all of us readers need to get out and exercise more than we do! If only reading burned a lot of calories!

  3. Good luck with the challenge! It’s such a timely one for me – especially since our Thanksgiving is this coming weekend (I’m in Canada). I’m planning to get through lots of audiobooks. I had my “official” start today. One mile. 99 more to go 🙂

  4. I used to do self goals like that in college to encourage me to keep biking/walking at the gym! It was a lot of fun to map it out as to where I’ve “gone” by walking (mileage-wise). 🙂 Good luck with your challenge!
