Good morning!  😀 

It’s a beautiful Saturday here in Central Minnesota… the kind that calls me outside to my bike.  I have the bike locked and loaded on the jeep for later today – but first I have a baby shower today and a house-warming.  Both early enough in the day so that I will still have later afternoon to ride a bit. 

I also wanted to remind everyone that today is the last day to register for BBAW.  I too have to do this today… it’s been crazy busy around here and as soon as I am done writing this post I am going to get busy on that as I think you need to set a little time aside to do it.  Be sure to read the Awards Process page  and then on to the registration page , you will need a Google account or your twitter ID to log in. 

Once logged in (I used my Twitter Id – it seamed easier)  I backed out, then went into that same page and now had a nominations link.  That is what I am working on now.

If you have not participated in BBAW before, I recommend you do.  It gives you an opportunity to recognize the blogs you love to read.  It really is fun and I love the community of book bloggers!  😀  Remember – today is the last day to register your blog and nominate. 

In other news… as I love to participate in Alyce’s Saturday Snapshot meme,  thought I would use a few pictures from Honduras since it looks like I may be leading a team there in November of this year.  Honduras is always an amazing experience, and a country that in many parts, is extremely poorish.

Today I am starting a two day ride for Camp Benedict, the ride I participate in for families infected of affected by AIDS/HIV.  We will start at 8 am this morning and bike 75 miles (with an option to do 100) to camp, then we get up Sunday morning and bike the 75 miles back to Brainerd. 

It’s a great ride and a wonderful team.

Good morning 😀

If you followed yesterday mornings post you would have read that I was UBER excited for my doctor’s appointment for the “6 weeks and get your cast off” appointment.  Summer has been slightly WARMER when it feels like you are constantly wearing a sweater over your left arm.

Yet – after the removal of the cast and the x-rays that followed, my doctor was not liking the lack of cartilage around the break.  Apparently, the cartilage is what protects the bones and with out that building up like it should I am overly susceptible to break my finger again. 

Not cool for this girl who wants her life back.

My doctor said he wanted to have an orthopedic surgeon (henceforth known as: O.S. as this is two long words and I am typing completely with my right hand)  look at it so that is my next step coming up on Monday afternoon.  I am told one of two things will happen:

1.  O.S. will say that I just need to keep the cast on a while longer to fully heal.

2.  O.S. says this is not working, I go in for surgery, they re-break my finger and put pins in it so it will be stronger.

PLEASE help me pray for door #1.

I came home pretty distraught yesterday afternoon.  I actually cried for the first time during this whole accident.  But… going into late afternoon, after reading on my deck for a while, doing a little shopping, and an iced coffee…  I have come to terms with what will be… will be.

So… that said…

where does that leave me with today’s previously scheduled Warrior dash event that I have been signed up for since January?

Well…. I am back and forth.  I am going and I am at least cheering my friend on.  However, looking at the route, I think I can still do most of it, as long as I can go around the things that require me to use my hand.  I will be talking to the registration people when I get there today.  I am still undecided.

Good morning!  I am sitting here with COFFEE CUP this morning reflecting over the past week. 

It was… a good one.

On Tuesday we had our annual Queen Event for Book Club, on Thursday I went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter… the final movie.

I think that is a pretty good week.  😛

This morning I reflected a bit on my yard.  I love love love my back yard.  So for The Saturday Snapshot over at Alyce’s At Home With Books,  I went around this morning with the camera…

As for my weekend… today I have planned to finish the lawn, finish a book.  Hubby and I may go for a motorcycle ride later, or a movie.  Tomorrow I am doing the Tour Of Saints bike ride with my friend Amy, the first bike ride since my accident in early June.  I am excited to get back on track.

Good morning all.  I am sitting here with COFFEE CUP enjoying the absolute quiet of my home before the day explodes. 

Ahhhhh…..

silence.  😛

In an hour I need to leave for Camp Jim where I will be organizing a potluck picnic with some amazing people.  Picnic starts at 4 pm.  I hope to be out by 7 – 7:30 and home.

Tomorrow is kick off to our serving week with the homeless.  Currently 17 people in the program in out county.  I need to purchase food and pick them up at 4:30 where my friend Jennifer and I will be staying with them on the 3rd and the 4th.  I have volunteers lined up for the rest of the week beyond that with me just popping in around 4:30 – 5:30 each day. 

So that’s my next three days.  Taking a book along?  Yes.  Currently I am finishing up Escape From Zobadak which is pretty good.  I am having a hard time putting it down! 😀

I fully expected to be on the road by now, sNOOKie and I are road tripping to Barnes and Noble this morning.  Sadly, this really is a road trip as B & N is in St Cloud, about an hour away from me.  I am hoping to get there early enough to talk with the NOOK representative and learn more about my NOOK….

then I just want to browse…  😀

Last week I went to Chicago with three of my friends for a much longer (MUCH LONGER – 10 hours) road trip.  It was a lot of fun and even though the arm cast was a hindrance, I am so glad I went.

It’s raining here in Central Minnesota this morning, supposed to the entire weekend – and for once I really do not care.  Sure I had hoped to dive into the hosta garden today and love on that, but there is always next weekend.  Today I really should focus on packing and looking for the NOOK charger, and making a list of things not to forget before I haul myself to Minneapolis tomorrow late afternoon, to catch an early flight Monday morning to New York.

BUT TODAY – is not about that…. today… I have a couple of fun things to share.  😛

First, recently WordPress made an upgrade that allows us to add our Google Calendar to our blog.  I didn’t even know how SSQQQUUUEEEE that was until I really thought about it.  Here is part of beauty of that… I have three email addresses.  My home/personal one, my work one, and a book one.  The book one is the one I use to communicate with you, and with authors and publishers, and it is the one that the book requests go to.  Since it is not my default email – many times book tours I have committed to, honestly can be forgotten as I do not always have time to connect with the book emails every day.  HOWEVER – I do seem to find time to connect with this blog every day.  SO – by adding the calendar to my blog – I can put the upcoming tours on it for me, and you as readers of this blog to peek to see upcoming events too… such as:

1. Wordshaker group review date
2. If I am attending a particular author event
3. If I am participating in a meme, read a thon, etc….

I don’t know – I am just excited.  So you can find it in the future by clicking the new Events tab at the top of this blog…. but for today you can also link to it here.

Next – and this one is for Alyce’s Saturday Snapshot – which is a fun thing to do every Saturday!  A couple of weeks ago out town had a Positive Charge event.  Over a three day period anyone in town could come to this particular photographer who was heading this and write on a piece of poster board what was so awesome about our town.  Once you made a poster, you had your picture taken.  Over 1,000 people/groups participated.  These posters will be hung all over town, and some made into billboards.  It was actually exciting to see the turn out of our community for this event…
