I was snooping browsing around and found this link to the list of Amazons 100 books to read in a lifetime. I thought the list looked interesting and being a sucker curious about such things I decided to try this myself. Thank to Perfectly Tolerable for making this into a meme.
I have marked the ones I have read.
Which have you read? Which books would you add to this list as must reads in a lifetime?
Thanks for participating!! 31 is awesome 🙂 I’m a sucker for lists haha thats why I made the meme!
Its a great meme!
Sheila, we’ve read a lot of the same books! Additionally, I have many of these in our home, but haven’t read them yet. Some of these I’ve seen as movies only. I have read several of the children’s books on this list.
I have a few on my shelves as well that I have not read…. 😀
Let’s see, we overlapped on 16 titles. I have a total of 33 with like 5 books that I can’t clearly remember if I’ve read them or not. I’m going to read those this year, just so I can honestly bump this list up closer to 40.
Nice plan!
If I were to suggest any (and MANY are very very good) I would say read James McBride’s The Color of Water – so fascinating and very moving.
OOH thanks Care – one for me to look into. 😀
77 of 100 in 61 years
Holy smokes – that is impressive!
Dave Eggers is over-rated.
I liked the Circle.
I’ve read 30.
Wow, Nise’ – that is awesome.
Nice!!!!
I have only read six of these titles.
I need to get “hopping.” 🙂
Thanks for the great post.
OOPS…just saw another one. So that takes me to a whopping SEVEN. 😦
Oh, I’ve only read 38 on this list 😦
38 is impressive!!!
You’ve read an impressive amount of them. I’ve only read 20, and not only that, can only remember a few of the 20! :–)
Well there is that Jill…. remembering what they are about 😉 I cant claim that I can remember them all either.
Only 20 for me…
I think personally it would be fun if a bunch of us book bloggers/reviewers submitted what we thought were the must reads in a lifetime and make our own list 🙂
Hmmmm……
I like this list much better than the “official” lists on the NYTimes, et al since it includes modern books and books by women and people of color.
I’ve only read 10 books off the list. Most just aren’t my cup of tea.
I’ve read 34 of them. You must, must read The Book Thief. It is so good, and unforgettable!
