What have I been reading? In my case it has been more listening…. working on fall projects has kept me moving but I have been enjoying audio and that is what I will share here.
This past couple of weeks I have listened to:
Interestingly enough I have never been a Joan Rivers fan, but was curious about who she really was and how she became… well, Joan. Review to come this week
A Middle Grade listen that was interesting and definitively I have some things to say about… review to come this week

I just started this one yesterday while buzzing around my kitchen making dinner and cleaning up from canning. So far… so good!

I read and LOVED Me Before You with my book club. Now this interesting sequel has made it’s may into my audio listening.

a week+ ago I showed pictured of my haul from our fall library sale and offered you to pick my next read and to win the book you picked if I chose your name. The winner of this first round for the books is Michelle from Book Chat who chose ‘The House Girl’ out of the pile. SO…. this week I will start The House Girl and then pass it to Michelle when I am done.

That is my reading.listening plan for this week. I will be finishing up canning in the next couple of days here and then putting away all of great grandmother’s canning gadgets for another year. This week I will transition out of the fall preserving of the crops to refinishing an old table for a friend, cleaning out the garage, and preparing for (hopefully) my first crocheting lesson. EEP! Between that there will be meet up with friends, a lunch date or two, and some planning for 2016 events. All good things to keep my mind busy and my heart full.

The House Girl was my first read for 2014. I will be interested in reading your thoughts about it. I just added After You to my ‘ToRead’ list. You have lots of books to listen to plus you have been listening to lots! I need to rethink my views of audio especially during cleaning and driving times…I read The Admissions and loved it!

I like the cover as well… I am a little skeptical about it being war related…we shall see 🙂
I’m currently reading The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicels #1) by Rick Riordan. I feel too old for it but I’ll see how it goes 🙂
My son Justin swore by Rick Riordin’s books – in fact he lent me his whole set a couple years ago saying I must read them. I think I got through the first one, but now will need to for sure try again.
I’ve been flying through the audio’s since doing so much walking and gardening. I really really enjoyed After You, hope you do too. Love the cover on The Admissions. Happy reading Sheila!
I have been enjoying it so far – its a fairly short audio so imagine I will be done this week 🙂
I also loved Me Before You. And I have to say that, 3/4 of the way through After You, Moyes has done a very good job of following up a great book with a very good book.
I liked The House Girl quite a bit, too.

The Conspiracy of Us looks interesting! I am reading 11 books – insane as always! Just started The Invasion of the Tearling and She’s Not There by P.J. Parrish. Read March by John Lewis this weekend and it was amazing, as was We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
11 books!!! Wow… people laugh at me because I listen to 3 audio at the same time but you have me beat! 😀
I LOVE audio, but my phone has decided not to keep a charge—I have 3 more weeks until my time period is up (to get the new phone at no cost),so I am limping thru carrying my big laptop wherever I go. (sigh), anyway—you really turned me on to audio. You have some great books there. I can’t wait to read Me After You.

I like that I can post but not worry about letting others down if I am not able to set it up some weeks 🙂 It was a hard decision as I LOVE the meme but I know it was the right thing to do 🙂
You still amaze me in all the reading you get done! I really need to get a better venue for audio. That may mean upgrading my phone, or getting blu tooth speakers for my Kindle. We listen while on road trips and sometimes at home while in our hobby rooms, but not usually otherwise.
I hope you do find a way to connect to audio. Even a cd player – does your library rent audio books? There are so many ways to connect to it 😉
I enjoyed The Conspiracy of Us on audio – good suspense. Hope you like it, too.
The House Girl is a great choice! We read it for my book group a couple of years ago, and everyone liked it. In fact, it is one of the books I just gave my step-mom for her birthday!

I am not sure if I liked Joan Rivers or not. She was brash and her jokes were “ouch” but I do admire her and I think there was more to her. I want to read this one and I look forward to your review. I did watch her Fashion show on E and did enjoy it!!

I really, really need to start listening to books. Do you ever find you lose concentration if you are doing chores etc, or do you sit quietly and listen?

Love the books your reading. I would like to read the Joan Rivers book. She could always make me laugh. Hoped that she would recover from that last illness. Went through so much when her husband died so tragically.
