I am not much of a meme joiner upper but I have always loved this picture (above) hosted by The Caffeinated Reader. It also seems to fit who I am these days, sitting back with maybe not slippers (I prefer flip flops), but definitely in my pajamas a little longer than I usually am these days. Coffee? Check. Newspaper? Well no, but replace that with my lap top and you pretty much have me in the above pic.
So basically, this meme is supposed to reflect on our week, our books, our plans… and well, that is what I kind of do here anyway so here goes.
I have another blissfully low key day here today and I am so glad. While these quiet days are definitely more emotional for me as I have no one to be “on” for… that is ok. He is worth the grief and he will be worth it forever. Every tear. This afternoon I am going to have lunch with one of Justin’s friends who is in town and I am looking forward to that. I know there will be stories, I know there will be tears… but like kindred spirits it is nice to have people in my life who get exactly where I am at and want to hang out with me anyway. ♥

I am hoping this is me coming back into a good blog routine. I feel that this is a safe place to share not only what I am reading and listening to – but also what I am going through. Thanks to the Morning Meandering being around all these years, my sharing my life is nothing new…. it is different now, but you all knew me then… and thank you for being here now.
Of course there are new books in the house. Now I am not going to post all the books and audio that have come in to my home since I last posted about the books… that would be a bit scary! Instead I grabbed the books that I have not put away yet from my counter and table, the ones that have come in over the last week maybe two.

Pokergeist by Michael Phillips Cash (yes you read that right… I read The After House by him and liked it…plus, this one came with a deck of cards. Yeah… I am a sucker for swag. 😉 )
Unfriended by Rachel Vail (eeps! I do love a good YA read! )
Parchment and Old Lace by Laura Childs (every time this amazing woman writes a book she sends it to me…. good reading for a cool fall evening!)
Unprocessed by Megan Kimble (I love foodie books and this journey of eating unprocessed foods for a year sounds fascinating! I could last maybe a week….)
The Afterlife Academy by Frank L Cole (An MG read not sure how I got this one but my memory is shot these days so I probably signed up for it… MG reads can be fun!)
Until I Find Julian by Patricia Reilly Giff (Another MG not sure how I received it but it looks good!)
History and Hauntings of the Halloween Capital by Roxy Orcutt (This one I picked up at our local book store. I had no idea that the town of Aitkin Minnesota (about 40 miles from me) has been declared by congress to be the Halloween Capital of the World. You would think I would know something like that!)
TITANIC The Great Lakes Connections by Cris Kohl (I purchased this one in Grand Marias Minnesota last week. I do love Minnesota history!)
The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury (It’s Bradbury. ‘Nuf said)
Brown Eyed Girl by Lisa Kleypas (hmmm… a little different for me but we shall see)
This afternoon after the lunch date I am hoping to just READ. I need to sink into a good book. Hope you all have a nice Sunday.
Sheila
Have good afternoon a favorite authorreading.
Thank you 🙂
Darn it! Now I have more books to add to my TBR list! LOL
LOL.
Darn it! Now I have more books to add to my TBR list! LOL
Thinking of you Sheila and sending hugs. Hope you have a lovely lunch with Justin’s friend and that you find something amazing to read. ❤
Thanks Lucy – I hope for that too.
It’s funny that you mentioned keeping your jammies on longer than you used to. Me too! But I’m usually barefoot.
Most of those books are new to me so I’ll be clicking on the links.
Hope you have a great day. Hugs!
I have always been anti-barefoot. No idea why 🙂
I love low-key days. Most of mine are. Pajamas are my outfit of choice whenever I’m home. I even got hubby into the pj habit 😉
Hope you enjoy your cathartic lunch and the rest of your Sunday. Looks like you got some good reading coming up.
I’m reading The Wrong Man by Kate White(enjoying it so far) and am about to start Pop Goes the Weasel by M.J. Arlidge
Enjoy your books… I believe I know what I will be starting and will share perhaps tomorrow in a meandering 🙂
I’m a fan of low key days myself and usually try to make Sunday one though I’m not always successful. It’s funny that you have a Laura Childs book in your stack. I used to read her and then stopped for some reason but lately I’ve been thinking I really need to revisit her.
I hope your lunch is lovely and I love your support team.
Her books are great for cool evenings… I love to snuggle up in a blanket and lose myself in her fun mysteries.
Low key days are good, as are baby steps, getting lost in a book, talking about it and seeing friends. Glad you feel safe coming back.
Yes to all of the above. 🙂 Thanks Kim.
Sheila, I hope your day is wonderful and relaxing. Many of your featured books sound terrific. Enjoy! 🙂
It was a very low key done I accomplished pretty much nothing.
Have a great Sunday and even better week, Sheila!
Thank you Michelle I hope to
Have a better week ahead!
🙂
Oh imagine my surprise when I saw you linked on the Sunday meme. I looked twice! Love your support team- bet they are the best. Hope your lunch with Justin’s friend is full of happy memories even if they bring tears. What a load of books – and they only the ones you haven’t put away. How do you read them all!
I have always admired the meme from afar but felt my Morning Meanderings do pretty much the same thing – anyway it was a fun way to connect 🙂
By joining in with the Sunday Post, you have put another toe in the water…soon you’ll be swimming. Thanks for sharing!
It is a toe in the water… for sure!
Sending you hugs as you rebuild your readiness to go out in the world more. Reading in your pjs is a great relaxation.
Yes – but a little too easy to do these days of sadness and tiredness. I have to watch out that I do not just stay that way all day, it is something I can see myself slipping into easily in this frame of mind.
I do love that image and could happily do that most days. Hope your afternoon was good
That little lot should keep you busy for a while
Oh yes. And that is a good thing.
I’ve always liked the idea of the Sunday Salon and the Sunday Post, but haven’t ever managed to join in. I enjoy reading them, though, and do love to see what (and how) everyone is reading and doing. Very nice to see you jumping in!
Yes I hope next week I will take time to read more of them.
I tried a Lisa Kleypas and couldn’t make it past the first few pages. But she is VERY popular!
I am not sure I have read her before but know the name… curious how I will feel about this one.
Enjoy your book.
Hope your lunch date was good.
Nice stack of books.
Have a wonderful week.

Thank
you
I read a Lisa Kleypas for a book club meeting, but it wasn’t for me. Hope you have better luck. I like the Sunday Salon, but I missed joining before membership was closed. The Sunday Post looks like a good option.
I am wondering if it will be for me… 🙂 There is a membership?????? 😯 LOL… I just linked up. Oh… I see two different things. *whew*
A good mix of books there Sheila and it’s nice to see you again.
xx
Thank you Deborah, its good to be back.
That is quite a stack. Enjoy! I love the picture of your dogs!
