Good morning. Mmmmmm….. coffee is good here. I am sitting at my kitchen table writing this post and watching it gently rain outside. It is a hazy kind of day – the kind that makes for good reading or keeps you inside to do house cleaning. I need to do a little of both today as I get ready for the basket assembly that will be happening here tomorrow morning with my friend Gail in preparation for the Wine and Words auction.
The bummer side of the rain is that today is the annual Church Picnic and baptism around 12:15 today. It still has time to stop raining, so perhaps things will just be nice and clean. We do need the rain it has been pretty dry here these last few weeks.
A few treasures came in this week:
Top Secret Twenty-One by Janet Evanovich (audio)
Thrones and Bones by Lou Anders (audio)
The Young World by Chris Weitz (audio)
The Girls Of August by Anne Rover Siddons (audio)
The Last Breath by Kimberly Belle
Always A Catch by Peter Richmond
Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand
So We Read On by Maureen Corrigan
Lots of good listening and reading! I have to go and get ready, but curious….
what do you like to do on rainy days?
i love rainy days!!! it’s nice not feeling like you HAVE to be productive and happy outside because the sun is out! that being said….rain makes me sleepy so I usually nap, read and flick thru the tv. hope the weather clears for your picnic..but churches have a marvelous way of turning lemons into lemonaide so I am sure it will be wonderful, enjoy!
I cant wait to have one of those rain days where I can watch favorite movies with a big bowl of popcorn or a great book! Today was FULL. Then I came home and cleaned as I have people over in the morning to start work on the wine and words baskets. Just set down now and am eating supper while I type…. it is 7:33 pm here. 😀
Hope the rain stops in time for the church picnic. You received some good books! The Girls of August and Winter Street are both on my wish list. Enjoy!
They both look awesome. I am super excited about Girls Of August on audio – that usually means I will get to it sooner rather than later 🙂
Organize!!!
YES!
We got 3 and a half inches in just a couple hours so we had a mess around here. I hope things clear up for you!
It is 7:40 pm and still raining. We needed the rain but I need to move tables from our shop to the house for my gathering tomorrow morning and I need a little rain break 😀
It’s not raining where I am, but on rainy days I love to curl up with a good book and a teapot full of tea.
Nice!!!
On rainy days I like to play games with the family (we’re going to our daughter’s house in a few hours for games and pizza), watch movies or read.
I hope it clears up and the Church Picnic/Baptism is a go!!
LOVE games!!!
I love how you said “a few” treasures. LOL…that looks more like a mountain of treasures. 🙂
ENJOY them all.
It is GORGEOUS here.
I try hard not to scare myself with the book piles 😀
Hmmm…since I spend so little time outside (can’t due to health issues), the weather doesn’t dictate much for me, BUT there IS one thing that comes to mind (other than reading) that rainy days lend itself to 😉
Sleep?
I’m not tellin’! lol
Great collection of books. Good for a rainy day.
Yes! Now if I only would have been home to enjoy them!
seriously, I didn’t know there was any other option than reading, lol
