Good morning! Yesterday was a pretty sweet day here in Central Minnesota…. it was warm (well 50 degrees makes me happy at this point) and looks to stay this way moving forward (*cartwheels* * back flip* *High fiving anyone and everyone*) AND when it starts to feel like spring…
I start to think about BEA (Book Expo America).
I have been able to go every year since 2010 and I have been amazed every year. If you are on the decision side of should I stay or should I go…. you should GO. And over the next 7 or 8 weeks… you are probably going to see me chat about BEA a lot here…. however, before you think “Sheila, this totally does not apply to me, I will not be attending and I really do not want to hear about something I am not taking part in…”
Oh but wait my friend….
Have you heard of Armchair BEA?
Armchair BEA is a way for those who will not be attending to get the feel of the event from their very own homes. Through this site you can participate with daily discussions, giveaways, and live videos and posts from the event itself. It will be like being there without the expense of the plane train or automobile to get there.
I a, super excited to be part of the On-Site Correspondents Team. *SQQQUUUEEEE* What that means is that myself as well as 3 other awesome bloggers will be the eyes and ears on site for those participating from home. We will take video of what we are seeing and doing. We will do interviews and give you as much BEA as you handle. I am SUPER excited to be a part of this team.
Registration will soon be open to sign up to be an Armchair BEA participant. I do hope you will all sign up and hang out with my virtually for a week at the end of May. I will keep you informed here when registration is open, in the mean time, please check out the site and grad the button I posted here for your side bar.
It’s going to be a good good time.
As far as books that came to my home this week… I am never short of reading material that’s for sure…
Hope your Sunday plans are something fun or relaxing or both 😀 I will be working on our book club read this afternoon and possibly going to the movie Noah with my hubby.
My daughter Kristin of Kritters Ramblings and I are going to BEA!!! Can’t wait to go! I love that they are doing the Armchair BEA – not everyone can do the traveling.
Oh so glad you are attending! WOO HOO!!!
Sigh…I went in 2008, when it was in LA…my state. NY is on my wish list. Until then, it’s Armchair BEA.
I have You Should Have Known on Sparky.
Next year it is in Chicago Laurel. I will be driving there 😉
Maybe one day I’ll be able to go to BEA, but for now a have to many responsibilities at home. I look forward to your updates every year!
Vicki I hope you take part in Armchair BEA – it is going to be a BLAST!
Thanks I’m a new book blogger so BEA is all new to me. You explained it so well.
Oh good! I was that was in early 2010… I started to hear people talking about it and had no idea what they were referring to. I read up on it and knew I had to go. 😀 I hope if not BEA itself you do participate in Armchair BEA!
I shall look forward to reading all about it
Great!
I really want to go next year when it is in Chicago…. I will have to wait and see though.
I hope you do Ryan! That would be so cool!
I’ve never been to BEA, but done Armchair BEA a few times. 🙂
I hope you do Armchair BEA this year too 🙂
I am 🙂
SO glad to have you on our ArmchairBEA team, Sheila–and see you in NYC!
Thanks Florinda -its that time of year where I am getting excited about it 🙂
I still think of you as my BEA Roomie! that’s the benefit of only going the once, I guess. 🙂
I’ve already forgotten what year it was!!! oh my.
It was 2010 Care – you were one of my first roomies 🙂 That was the year of the rotating roomies as people could only come for certain days – that year I roomed with you, Regan (Miss Remmer’s Reviews), Kim (Sophisticated Dorkiness) and Chocolates and Croissants.
I can’t wait. I signed up the first day we were able to. I talk about it constantly at home. I’m counting down. It’ll be so much fun. Are you going to the conference? I know you were getting disappointed with it. I don’t know how last year’s was, this year’s looks good. I’m looking forward to seeing Tiger Beat performing. Thinking about it makes me giggle. And FREE BOOKS!
I am going to the conference as part of the Armchair BEA coverage 🙂 I usually am able to pull something good out of it – you will have such a blast! I am soooo excited for you!
Thanks. I’m really excited. I want it to come NOW!
I go to Armchair BEA every year! I can’t wait until it comes to Chicago, though. I’m pretty sure I can drive to that one. 🙂
CONGRATS on being on the ARMCHAIR committee. You will do an AWESOME job.
ENJOY…I hope I see you at some point.
Congrats Sheila. I am looking forward to seeing your posts and videos from BEA. Sadly I won’t be able to make it this time around but perhaps Chicago 🙂 Have fun which I know you will 🙂
Just realized that BEA will be in NYC next year (2015) so hopefully I can make it to that one one more time before the move to Chicago
‘The Medici Boy’ sounds interesting. I love the Medici family history. Their tombs in Florence were beautiful.
Excited to hear you will be a correspondent! I have always enjoyed your posts about it in the past!
