Spring Book Sale and A Chance To Win One Of These Books!

2a1

Good morning.  Sorry about the funky size of the top pic here… I woke up this morning and apparently WordPress has made a few changes and my ability to resize pics the way I want from within WordPress is no more.  Hmmmmm….

Anyhoo –

This past weekend was the spring book sale at our library and we had a BLAST not only working the sale but shopping the sale.  Here is what I came home with:

1d

I am pretty excited with my haul – there are some fun reads in here. So as always, my book sale gets to be your book sale too.  In the comments put the title on one of these books that you would love to have.  I will choose at the end of this week one random winner (using random.org). Then I will read that winners choice in April and then send it to them to keep.

I hope you can see the titles ok – this was a great sale and I am still drooling over these pretties 🙂

Have a super day!

  1. Hi Sheila, whoever gets that Anna Karenina is in for a treat( Tolstoy needs a good translator, and that pair is the best these days)

Meantime, I would LOVE to own either The Lace Reader or Inferno. And which Amy Tan is it? I’ve read all but her latest. Yep, the picture is very hard to decipher…. have a great day

  2. I would love another copy of Speak for one of my Reading 9/10 literature circles. I’m pretty much running the class on a me-budget. The kids would love an extra copy as well:)

  3. Just finished The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan and I’m on hold for The Valley of Amazement at my library. Would love the Amy Tan novel. (Can’t make out the title)

  4. Always wanted to read The Wind Up Girl.

I noticed the new WP update yesterday but I am still able to size pics. I have to go into the Edit and then scale image. It’s not as exact as it used to be but it’s close.

  5. What a great haul! I adore Library book sales, they are so much fun. I would love to read, The Lace Reader, or The Windup Girl, or The List, or lol

  6. Wow that is a lot of books! Good work!

I would love to read March by Geraldine Brooks. I just read Year of Wonders, and I loved it!

  7. Looks like a great selection of books! I would love to win either The Windup Girl or Inferno! Thanks for this amazing giveaway!

  8. I so wish I lived near your library! Their sales are amazing! We have them here too, but not $2 a bag.

I’d love to win Big Stone Gap.

  9. A very good inexpensive haul! I’d like to go for the Amy Tan one. I’ve only read one of her books and enjoyed it very much. Thanks for sharing and being so generous.

  10. What a great haul! Are you going to add on a library room to your home? 🙂 I love book sales…just the thrill of digging through the titles. I would go for either Garlic and Sapphires by Ruth Reichl or The Secret Life of Bees.

  11. what a treat! glad you had the opp to work and shop =)
having trouble deciphering a lot of titles, so will put my name on one for the giveaway,
just not sure which title [not any of the ones already claimed!]
    will choose if i’m chosen – how’s that ?

  12. I LOVE library sales! You really cleaned up. A lot of great ones there. If I am so lucky to be chosen as the winner, I would love to have Inferno by Dan Brown. Thanks for the chance. 🙂

  13. How long will it take you to read all of those? Are you a fast reader? I thought I used to be, but these days I struggle to keep my eyes open 🙂

  14. What a great score! I would like to read Inferno, Saving CeeCee Honeycutt, Anna Karenina, the Passage and apparently Speak. So many good choices.

  15. Wow, that’s awesome. Sadly a haul like that would not fit on my shelves currently… We are discussing renovations so maybe one day… I am going to say Anna Karenina for my choice… I really should read that!

  16. Anna Karenina…. looks like a great haul. 🙂 I haven’t been to a library book sale in so long. 🙂

  17. Pretty sure I missed your giveaway (though I wouldn’t mind reading Kim Edwards’ Lake of Dreams – I loved her first novel). Wow, what a haul! This is actually why I don’t allow myself to go to book sales – lol I have an entire bookcase full of TBR books – and we have started second rows on some of the shelves – so I am trying not to bring new books into the house until I make a dent in the TBRs already here. The probably is that I am involved in too many book groups, so there is always another book to read for those…but I really love talking about books! A conundrum.

Enjoy all your wonderful new books!

    Sue
