Good morning! Welcome to Sunday. Because we are in a cold weather warning I took care of all of my running yesterday. I went to church last night, and have left today open in case it was hard to go anywhere. The Governor of Minnesota closed the schools state-wide for this Monday, the first time that has happened since 1997. While yes it is cold, it does not seem (at least at this time) to be as cold as they were anticipating. I think they were expecting wind chills and maybe that is still to come but as of right now… its pretty mellow out there.
So here is my Sunday update:
Time: 8:51 am
Place: That awesome recliner in the living room. I ♥ the recliner.
Food or drink: I am having a mocha espresso right now, not as tasty as I had hoped. Will be having plain old coffee soon. 🙂
Reading: Flowers In The Attic (page 97), not reading as quickly as I had hoped but then again, really haven’t been home much this week to read. 😀 Also had started Reconstructing Amelia which I put down for the first book of the year (FITA) but hope to get back to that one if not today, then tomorrow.
Watching: We found the first half of Season 4 Walking Dead on tv and we (hubby and I) are super stoked as we have watched all the three previous seasons on DVD and have been hoping to find the first half of season 4 before the second half starts on February 9th.
Cooking: Not sure yet. Navy Son is coming over for dinner tonight. I want it to be tasty but not a lot of work. I think I went soup or chili the last two times he was here so I am trying to get “out of the bowl”
Whats Ahead: A pretty full week actually. Today I am invited to an open house at a friend’s home. I am hoping to make an appearance. Tomorrow morning (Monday) the Friends of the Library are meeting to take down the Christmas decorations at the library and then have our monthly meeting. Wednesday we are working with the students again after the holiday break. Thursday I have dinner plans with my cousins. Friday I am going to meet up with a group of friends for dinner. Saturday we (me and three friends) leave for Fargo where we will be seeing PINK in concert that night, staying over night and coming home on Sunday. Yup…. bust week 😀
So that is what is happening here 😀 Whats on your agenda for today and the upcoming week?

I pretty much devoured the VC Andrew books when I was a teen, and I re-read her constantly for years. Which might explained my warped mind… I’m so excited for the upcoming Lifetime movie, and I’m trying to figure out if I have time to do a re-read or not. I know it won’t take long, because I literally remember everything, but there’s so much to read this year!! Pressure!
Stay warm and awesome!
LOL I struggled with the beginning of the book (re-read) – loved it as a child but wasnt sure this second time around… I am starting to get into it now 😉
I did all my errands yesterday so I can spend the day hiding in my house because of the cold. It doesn’t see too bad, but who knows. Things can change pretty quickly. I remember when schools closed in 1997 for the day. I was like 11 and so excited to finally have a day off!
I cant recall the previous school closing due to weather… this one shocked me. I dont think it is that bad out either 😉
We have a warm front moving this way so our temps went from very cold to hovering just around the freezing mark. Still cold, but not as bad as it was. Compared to the last couple winters it has been really cold here and we all ready have way more snow that we have had the couple years by this time. I got a great deal on Reconstructing Amelia at Kobo the other day. I saw it on lots of End of Year lists and I was curious.
We have had it colder than usual so far this winter. I am ready for it to be over 😉
I spent yesterday (most of it) curled up watching shows on Netflix. One Tree Hill was always playing on weekends on SoapNet (which has gone bye-bye! sigh), and I never saw the whole series, so I’ve been watching it from the beginning. There were a lot of seasons!
There is an updated TV movie of Flowers in the Attic coming mid-month….I saw the older version. Haven’t read the book….
Enjoy your weekend.
I love watching whole seasons of series – I hate to wait 😀 I will have to watch the the updates TV movie -thanks for the info 🙂
I love Walking Dead! Cannot wait for the show to resume. Have you read the comics?
I have not read the comics – worth it? I am not much of a comic book reader but hey… always open to new things 😉
The books are amazing. If anything, they have more umm, stuff happening. I think you will enjoy them.
Really????? OOH!
I’ve been on the couch for most of the day recovering from a touch of exorcism! Hubby has us watching Bones
Oh no! Not the exorcism! Feel better!
Did you see what Pink just did for a homeless man? Awesome!
I did not see that – I will have to look it up 🙂
Having a lazy/soup-making/football-watching Sunday here in Southern Oregon…cold, but sunny and no snow 😦
Sheila, while I was browsing a couple of new to me blogs, I stumbled on one by Patti G. called My Happy Place and she has a new meme that she just started called “Feet First”…has your name all over it!! Check it out.
LOL… I will have to check out “feet first” thanks for the info! 😀
Well, my week won’t be near as exciting as yours but…besides working from 7-4 each day, Mon: Boy Scout Meeting, Tues: TOPS meeting, Wed: Bible Study resumes from Christmas Break, Thurs: Adult Faith Formation Meeting, Friday: My cousin Janeen and I are working out together, Sat: Babysitting & then a birthday party, Sun: another birthday party. Not much relaxing (or reading) this week again! Enjoy your week!
OOH that’s a busy week Angie – hang in there! Weeks like that I have to take one day at a time!
I’m also reading Flowers In The Attic again for the new movie promo on the 17th. One of my favorite books of all time.
Have to say, like the old cover better than the new one.
Have a great week and happy reading!
I dont like the cover I posted here – but the one on the book I received I do – I couldnt find that cover to post 😀
