Good morning! How ya all doing this fine Tuesday? I have been up and at the gym and home to my coffee and a quick post to you. Tonight is our December book club meeting and Christmas party… always a good time!
This year, we decided for our gift exchange that we had to make home-made gifts. 😯 In true fashion, I have procrastinated on this until last night when I finally realized what I wanted to do was not going to happen so I went a completely different route. Instead I made these:
I took one of our book clubs favorite reads through the years Same Sweet Girls by Cassandra King, and snowflake punched several pages. I then put the flakes into the little Christmas bulbs here and decorated with ribbon. Same Sweet Girls is the book that created our July Queen event… plus, we as the Bookies, really are the same sweet girls. If time allows, I plan to try my hand later this afternoon at homemade caramels to “sweeten” the deal…. get it? Sweeten? 😛
So hopefully none of the girls attending tonight read this post today as our gifts will be brown paper wrapped and we roll dice to see who gets what…. excited to see how it goes!
Are you in a book club?
If you are, do you do anything special for the holidays?

What a cute idea! Well, I depend on the book clubs on Good Reads and Shelfari. I would like to be in a face to face book group one day. 🙂
There is something to be said for the face to face groups. I have met some really awesome women through this group.
That is a great idea! No book club for me. Mine disbanded as people moved and lives sped up. I miss it, though.
Oh that is too bad. We have been a group now for 12 years.
I love the ornaments! My book club will have our party next week and we’ll do a Dirty Santa exchange of books.
Hmmm… I think you have told me this Dirty Santa thing before but I have forgotten the details. Curious 🙂
What a cute idea! I’ve never don’t a gift exchange with my book club and I think I’d do a white elephant with used books if I did. I love your idea, though. Very sweet!
Its been fun 😀
That is SUCH a great gift idea for book lovers!! I’m tempted to do this every year with my favorite book of the year to build a collection! That would be a fun tradition! 🙂
Thats a great idea!
I haven’t belonged to a book club for years! Your club always makes me want to create one! Enjoy your evening.
You should Laurel – I bet you could have a wonderful group as an author!
Cute! I have a terrible time with ‘required’ reading, so I don’t do book clubs well…
Its fun to discuss what everyone pulled form the books 😀
Not in a book club…I am sort of like Kailana…required reading is not for me! But yours always sounds intriguing!
We have a blast – we really have built friendships from this group. 😀
We had our Christmas meeting last night and had a cookie exchange. Normally we only have wine, but this year it was wine and cookies. Oh, and some yummy flat breads too. And we also discussed the book!
LOLI love that the book review part was an after thought 😉 Your group sounds like fun!
I love to read what other book clubs do for the holidays. It’s such a great time of year shared with good friends who also love books. Have fun tonight!
It is and although I look forward to all of our get togethers – this is one that really is a lot of fun.
