Good morning! I am enjoying a seriously wonderful weekend and I hope you are too. This is the last of the quiet lay back weekends until the second weekend in September (and that is Al’s birthday so who knows). This next weekend I am at the cabin with my son, then the 1sr weekend of August is the Camp bike ride, then Wisconsin mud run weekend, then Library sale, camp week, Wine and Words and then camping the final weekend of August. The first weekend of September brings on another bike ride and a fall kick off party.
It’s all things I really enjoy… its just a bit overwhelming when you look at it as a whole.
Last weekend was a lot of fun and that is what I wanted to share with you today. My college son and I spent time in the cities together doing back to back 5k’s – both were messy… both were fun. For Saturday Snapshot I thought I would share some of the moments:

Ok, as I posted these pictures I realized there are way to may fun pics for me to put the two events into this post. Next Saturday I will post the Color Run pics. Also fun… very colorful. 😀
Note: No books were harmed in the making of this event.
For more Saturday Snapshots, pop in at West Metro Mommy to see what others are taking pictures of and add your own if you wish 😀
Today… I have this master to do list that has been accumulating and multiplying for weeks. I wrote it all out yesterday and started chipping away at it then and will continue to do so through Monday. I plan on working on that until about noon, possibly taking a bike ride and then later reading Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger.
What’s your Saturday looking like?

Dumpster diving and crawling through the mud? YIKES!!
You are brave, dear friend. I am not that adventurous. 🙂
Hope you have more fun.
Elizabeth
Yeah well someday I figure I will say o to such craziness… but that day has not arrived. 😀
How nice you were able to do this with your son. Great way to spend a day!
Wow, you are going to be busy this summer – do remember to say “no” every now and then! But yes, they are all great events to be part of.
I know… its so hard when I love it all. I do need to practice that no though…
I like your new logo to accentuate your life of adventure! Great shots….lots of mud. But you must have felt really great afterwards.
We did… it was a lot of fun and after we cleaned up and had lunch we both fell asleep in our hotel room. Later we took in a fun movie and a late dinner.
Oh my gosh! I’ve never seen a run like that one! I need to share this with my walking friend and see if we can find a Commando Run around here.
There are all sorts of mud runs and obstacle runs and they are a ton of fun! Google your state and mud runs – things should pop up 🙂
Oh – and the company that does this one is called Team Ortho – they have these all over the states and put together nice events. I am doing 4 this year.
Our Saturday is 4 year-old birthday party for our granddaughter. So much fun to watch her face as it is all about her!
Oh fun!
You guys are waaaaay more athletic than I am. I love to go hiking but I pass on obstacle challenges.
I hear you about that master to-do list. I have one on my desk calling me right now but instead I’m sitting out on the deck with my laptop visiting blogs! And the book I’m almost finished reading is calling much louder than the list. 🙂 Guess you know what’s going to win!
I need to get started on the book.. I have say here way to long this morning. 😀
Looks like a blast, I’d probably need a new hip if I dove into the dumpster like that. Enjoy your weekend.
It was like a foam pit… it still scared me though – I could not do it with the abandonment my son did 😀
Looks like real fun! Congrats on finishing!
Thanks [ we were then hosed off with fireman hoses…. COLD!
Wow, what great photos. To me it all looks incredibly scarey, but there you are smiling at the end.
I find odd things fun 😛
Great pictures…those mud races do look like fun!
I cannot believe you crawled through that mud!
This looks like a terrific way to bond with your son. I can’t imagine having the next two months of weekends scheduled. I love that we are getting some down time now, although next weekend my daughter is in the play Emma so I’ll spend the weekend attending that. Here’s Mine
Very cool. You are much braver than I am! And in better shape 🙂
Sounds like a great Saturday 🙂
