Happy Saturday ya all – 😀 I am currently up North – yes further north than my home in central Minnesota at our cabin for a girls crafting weekend. Lap top – has stayed home this time as I do not have internet there anyway so this is a pre-scheduled post that I am hoping (fingers crossed!) will appear magically on my blog on Saturday morning. 😀
For today’s Saturday Snapshop over at Alyce’s At Home With Books, I thought I would share some pics and thoughts from the Mankato Ramble from last weekend.
I drove to Mankato Minnesota on Saturday late afternoon as the drive is almost 4 hours. Hello audio books! 😀 I stayed the first night at my friend Diane’s house as my College Son was out-of-town. Can you believe it – I come to his town and he is not home? LOL He was actually in Duluth and was getting back early Sunday.
On Sunday morning in 25 degree weather (uh… yeah) we went to the bike ride. I rode with my friends Diane, Sheila, Belinda, and Jason – and a new friend, Josh.
The ride was good but cold – really cold for the first couple of hours. I was almost caving to do the shorter 36 mile ride instead of the 44 mile ride. Thankfully my friends stayed strong and we completed the ride as planned. Here are some pics from that event:

We had a great time. I then spend Sunday with College son Justin. We went out to dinner and then to the movie Pitch Perfect which was funny and good! I stayed over night with Justin and then drove home Monday morning. A great weekend!

I guess the cold weather made you pedal faster! 25 degrees is about as cold as it gets here on our coldest night of the winter.
I think it slowed me down Kathy – it was windy and I felt we were going so slow…. 😀
You have some beautiful settings for your rides. I can almost feel the brisk air…and maybe the first clue for me was seeing your hair blowing across your face. Exhilarating!
Enjoy the weekend.
Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
LOL – yeah it was windy! 😀
Brrrrr. Great job finishing the longer ride in such cold weather.
Thanks Leslie – we sure did not linger like we do during the warmer rides 😀
Well done! (Those cookies look great, btw)
Oh those cookies were so good… I had two! 😯
Oh my goodness, that is cold! Those would have to be some spectacular cookies to convince me to bike, much less in that weather. 🙂
LOL – I usually stick to the fruit and the trail mix on the rides but those cookies…. called to me. 😀
Congrats on your ride! Sounds like you earned those cookies.
Thank you Cheryl 😀
It looks a great day. Congratulations on finishing your ride, I’m sure the snacks helped you through.
They did Louise 😀 I LOVE a good pitstop!
Those cookies look really great. I know this will sound weird, but those bananas in the background look really straight. Are bananas different in the States? Great that you look just as happy post-ride, and pre-ride.
Thats funny Ginny – and you know you made me look at the picture 😀 I think it is the way they are laying.. they have a curve here in the states too 😀
Excuse me asking, but do you have to train or cycle every day, or do you only do these long rides? I don’t think I could ride to the end of the road these days… No Snapshot from me this week, but I’m enjoying looking at everyone else’s.
I do shorter rides but I never get a chance to train the way I would like too. I need to manage my time better going into next year. 😀
44 miles on a bike?
And without using Lance Armstrong’s methods? I’m impressed.
By the way, are there any cookies left? I’m starving. That is a sport more my speed…. marathon COOKIE-EATING!
LOL – my biggest one day ride this year was 104 miles. Thought I was going to die…ok, it wasnt that bad,, but I was tired. 😀
