Morning Meanderings… I May Be In Favor Of Cloning

Good morning!

Seriously…. how does life balance get out of whack so fast?  Suddenly I have reviews to write, books I want to read, places to go, things to do, a job, and so far… I have not figured out a way to bypass sleep.  In fact… I have discovered…. I really really like sleep.  😀

BUT – I also like to read and comment on blogs.  I used to be soooo good at that!  Really I was!

If only there was a way to clone me….

Lets dream a little about that…

Clone Sheila could go to work for me… I do actually love my job so I am hoping I could still get the satisfaction of that while I stayed home, worked out in the morning, caught an iced coffee on the way home, and spent my day reading and writing.

Clone Sheila could then do all the “time suck” tasks such as grocery shopping, bill paying, house keeping…  OOH –  and appointments that I want the benefit of but don’t have the time such as hair cuts, check ups, manicures…

Ok… enough of the dreaming.  This week is going to be less crazy then last week so reading should get done and posts should go up.  I even got around to some blogs last night and commented and plan to do so later today as well 😀

How do you keep a balance between life and books?  Life and blogging?  Life and …. life?

  1. I don’t even have the job and I run out of time. I don’t know how you do it. If you figure out that cloning thing, I am all in!

    Have a great day!

  2. Or an 8th day….designated “the reading day” and nothing else. Except maybe the ‘spa’ day.
See? there I go….filling up reading day with other things already. LOL

    1. I do like the idea of an 8th day…. where could I find that….. where would it follow…. I think I would like it to be like second Saturday (Saturday is my FAVORITE day!)

It would go Friday, Saturday, Eighthday, Sunday….. 😛

  3. Seriously, I ponder how I ever managed to hold down an “outside” job, since my time flies by while I’m just blogging, writing, and reading. Maybe I didn’t have a “life” then. Or maybe I’m totally out of whack now and don’t know it. Hmm….

Is the “9-5” day a life? Is blogging, reading, and writing a life? If I had to choose, I’d choose the latter.

I wondered when you’d get around to considering that “cloning” solution. lol

    1. I like a healthy mix Laurel. I cant blog and read and write all day – even if sometimes I think I could. I would climb the walls! 😀

I just don’t like it when the work and the commitments don’t allow for this as I do love these book connections. They fuel me 😀

  4. I’ve found that tasks expand to fit the time I’ve allocated to them. When I was working full time I did everything faster. Of course that made for more hectic days. Yup, the only good solution is a clone.

    1. I always think things will take less time then I do. Always. I look at something and think it is a two hour project and it is more like 4…. and when I write a post I am always amazed how long it takes to put in everything I want to – links, pictures, the map, other book links…..

      😀

  5. I could use a clone right now too so I can get caught up on life, especially at work 🙂

I find it difficult to balance life and blogging. I am really behind on writing reviews and the bad thing is that it becomes more difficult to write a review the longer I wait because I start to forget my thoughts on the book.

Good luck this week! I hope you get caught up on everything 🙂

  6. I’m retired and have more trouble than ever fitting in reading with life since Dave retired last fall. Things just don’t get done. I really like being with him all the time, but I do need time to do what I gotta do. Working on a solution . . .

    1. Isnt that crazy Barbara? How do we get busier? I used to work full time as a Manager at WalMart and had the two boys at home, sports, school stuff…. now I think that was easier. The boys are grown and gone and I now work part time instead of full time and I am busier than I ever was!

  7. I feel that way all the time, especially now since my kids have so many activities. I just do what I can when I can, and I’m busy from first thing in the morning until I settle down at 11pm at night to relax and watch The Daily Show with my husband. Every once in a while I take a nap on the weekend. 🙂 I wouldn’t have it any other way though. I love being busy.

  8. So funny that you posted this ! You’ve got to check out my post tomorrow as it is along the same lines!! I’d totally go for clone! One could read and one could clean!

  9. I used to panic about not posting everyday; but then I remembered that blogging is *not* a competitive sport! I would feel tempted to fill my blogs with memey stuff and/or feel overwhelmed which had the counter-effect of my becoming immobilized. I now only *let* myself post twice a week and it seems to be the right pace for me; but also I make sure I engage on twitter every day (except on the busiest of work days.) I try to make post to at least three blogs over the week-ends and see what’s up 🙂

    1. Nice balance Tanya! I look back at how I used to blog and wonder how I managed it… I don’t know what has changed, I suppose through the years my work hours have increased and I do more biking events but wow… I just can not keep up like I used to 🙂
