Morning Meanderings… Kindle, Nook, and what is Google Play?

Good morning?

Does anyone else ever have visions of running away and living off the land, and books?

Nope?

Just me… ok.

As I look at all the books I want to read and all the books coming out daily, weekly…. HOURLY that I want to read and then all the things that I do on a daily, weekly , HOURLY basis… such as eat and sleep and work and work out and clean and…

well yeah… where is that pocket of book time?

But look… I have only just started typing, sitting here with COFFEE CUP on an irritatingly snowy morning in Minnesota, should be, could be, should be getting ready for work… but one eye on the time and the other on my keyboard….

and I have already digressed.

WHAT I had wanted to talk about this morning was my NOOK, which I love, and the KINDLE which I think is a better product now then back in the day when you had to choose NOOK or KINDLE and I felt the obvious choice was NOOK but now I am now so sure and yeah I am rambling, one because of the time, and two because of the caffeine…

AND NOW…

of course there are all these other e readers and then this morning I am reading my beloved Shelf Awareness and they are talking about Google Play and if you were hoping when I asked the question this morning that I was going to explain it, that is not the case…

I was really hoping you could explain it to me.  😯

I was looking a little at the website today and I didn’t have a lot of time to dig but I wasn’t sure if it is for your phone, or if you could download it on any e reader or… well… what and where?

ANYHOO…. that’s all.  I just wanted to know.  😀

Have a super day and yeah this probably did not make sense today but really, most days I don’t have a clue what I am going to write about until I sit down and

write.  😀

Have an awesome day!!!!!

  1. Happy to see I’m not the only frustrated one! Too much to read and no time to do it!!! That’s my daily complain!!! Have a great day!

  2. Hahaha this made me laugh, you seem so happy today and that’s just great! I’ve had an awesome day too! The sun’s shining and everything’s just great! =)
And look at me, here I am, 16.20, and I haven’t read yet! I should go read. Like…NOW! 😀

  3. My Kindle is the simple version that came out first, I think, before Kindle Fire, etc. Or the fancy Nook products.

As for Google Play…never heard of it. But except for gmail, I’m not a fan of Google stuff. I signed up for Google +, a social networking site, and now wish I hadn’t. People can add you without your consent…and you get tons of e-mails from people you’ve never met.

I’m afraid that opting out might disconnect me from gmail….I do have two Google blogs, but don’t spend much time with them. I went to a page to disconnect from Google +, but it wasn’t clear just what would be “disconnected.” Sigh.

See? You now have me pondering all kinds of things. lol

    1. I am so glad after reading this Laurel that I never signed up for Google connect. People tried to get me too but I thought what was the point? I can hardly keep up with all the networks now 😀

  4. You sound sort of like me in the morning, thoughts all jumbled up and wondering how I’m going to find time to read. All I can say is that somehow it all works out and the things you don’t get to today are still there tomorrow. In other words, you do what you got to do – which is the story of my life.

  5. Google Play, huh? Ok, I looked. Seems to be a books, movie and music download store. Looks like the files will work on anything except Amazon. Ah ha… that must be the competition!

Run away? Why yes, to an island with warm breezes and mostly sunny days.

  6. Google Play, formerly known as Google Music, is a google/android app (across laptops, phones, probably tablets, but only Android ones) that lets you access your music and (I would say audio) books across devices — as well as cordlessly sync them.

  7. I started with a Sony eReader but have had a Kindle since Christmas and have to say it is so much better and I thought I loved the first one! I only heard about Google Play this evening on another blog, must investigate.

  8. I have a nook Simple Touch and love it! Never use my first nook, which makes me feel a little guilty, but my ST is a touchscreen and I’m a sucker for a touchscreen! With no fingerprints like iPad!

Can I go with you to Book Island?

  9. I don’t think I could handle living off the land, but I have dreamed of taking several months to do nothing but read all the books and watch all the movies I have in my long lists… Now if I could just figure out a way to do that AND pay the bills!
