Good morning! Cranking out a post this morning before I head to a meeting…
basically… it has been a week.
Monday was run run run from work, to work out, to pick up diner, to group… home at 8:30 pm
Tuesday was Book Club at my house – so work, grocery shop, cook, clean, BOOKIES!!!, a little bra burning, and house empty at 9 pm
Wednesday Bailey had surgery for a sore he had on his back side…. work, surgery, stayed late at work, volunteer with students, home at 8:30 pm
Thursday was Navy son’s dinner request so work, grocery shop, home, cook, have fun chatting it up with Brad (Navy Son) and Andy (best friend also in Navy) and everyone left to go visit friends at 7:30 pm and I promptly fell asleep on the couch within minutes of everyone gone. 😛
Friday – DAY OFF!!!! Worked the morning catching up on writing reviews, blog visiting, writing… then went to work out with friends (only the second time to gym this week!), then to help with a concert for the homeless in our community. Home at 8:45 pm
And now it is Saturday. I am helping with a meeting this morning that is from 10 – 11:30 am. Then I need to run a few errands, then chill at home a bit, tonight College Son will be here too and we are having Christmas with Brad since he was not here for it, going out to dinner and then Brad is heading out-of-town to visit with friends in ST Cloud for the night.
Whew. What a week! 😀
And for Alyce’s Saturday Snapshots, I do have a few random pics of the week…

Ok… I am out of here for a while but back later with a review. I am currently reading The Future Of Us and it is getting GOOD!

Oh, love the shots! When I saw the photo of your son cleaning the deck, I was reminded of my patio, covered in leaves so thick it’s like a carpet.
I guess I’ll have to tackle that today. If it doesn’t rain….
You had quite the week. BTW, after reading your review of Henry’s Sisters, I downloaded it for Sparky, my Kindle. Can’t wait to read it.
Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT and here’s
MY WEBSITE
OOH – enjoy Henry’s Sisters! I think you will really like it Laurel – make sure I do not miss your review.
Sheila, I always get exhausted just reading about your pace. You have lots of energy, girl. I know you’ve loved having your son home and I hope you guys have a wonderful evening. I read THE FUTURE OF US over the holidays and I thought it was great.
The book is getting GOOD Kay, I do adore Jay Asher…. 😀
It is a blast having Brad home for a couple week s but man is he busy! Always going places to see friends… but he is 24…. I guess that is to be expected.
You’ve had quite a week. How does poor Bailey eat his dinner with that “halo” on? I know you’re happy to be seeing your sons. We have snow now and frigid cold temperatures. This is more like January. Off to a basketball game this afternoon.
I have been hand feeding him Barbara. 😀 Garlic bread, peanut butter bread (so I can hide his medicine in it)… he has been pretty spoiled this week.
We have a bit of snow now too and the temp has dropped big time.
Sounds like you had a very busy week!
A bit… lol… this next week should be a bit easier…… looking forward to the quietness of February 😀
Sheila enjoy your time with Brad.
Thanks Esme – we have been 😀
Enjoyed looking at the photographs!
Here is my Saturday
Snapshot post!
Thanks 😉
Wow! An incredibly busy week!
Ugh… yes. 😀
What a good son, sweeping the deck for you! You certainly had a busy week, didn’t you? 🙂 I hope things calm down a little bit for you next week, but I bet having your son home and your family together made it all worthwhile.
I did a lot of prep work for this coming week last week Alyce so I think the worst is over 😀
Oh man . . . those cupcakes look gooey and delicious 😀
I missed out on them Trish but heard they were yummy good! 😀
That was a crazy week! Today is my first lazy Saturday in months–and I need it. Having our kids home makes it all worth it though, doesn’t it?
*smiles*
I am ready for a lazy day Kim but I think I am about a week out from that. 😀 I go to full time this week while our office manager is on Maternity leave…. next Saturday will be another dinner with out son before he leaves on Sunday to go back to the Navy in Florida. Next Sunday though… could be quiet 😀
What a busy week! I’m always tired after seeing your schedule! Those cupcakes looked yummy, and how fun that you get to spend time with both of your boys! Poor Bailey, having to be a conehead while he recovers. At least you’re spoiling him rotten! Always made me feel better to spoil my furbabies when they were recovering from various mishaps. And I do believe that yours is the only bookclub I’ve ever heard of that ends in a bra burning! *L*
LOL – yeas as far as I know we are the first to do a bra burning. We felt we were due for another fire… as a book club we had one in 2003 where we burned… something else 😉
Wasn’t it great to have a snow free deck in January?
Bailey looks so sad… I hope he’s feeling better soon.
A bra burning. Haven’t heard of one of those in ages! lol
It was Leslie – and now it has snowed all day so it is hard to believe that just this past Tuesday we were sweeping leaves off the deck and standing in shirt sleeves by a fire…
OMG LADY!!! I hope you get to slow down a little next week. I bet you didn’t have much time to read. 🙂
It was CRAZY Lori… I just kept on a going….LOL. It’s funny because one of the guys I work for told me today that no matter what I start I always finish it…. be it a bike ride that I get banged up on… or a project…. I will stay until it is done. 😀
And yeah – reading has been minimal but I did get some in last night and a little today as well 🙂
That’s one very busy week — and some really great pictures.
It was a busy one for sure Lisa…. I am glad it is behind me 😀
What a crazy week! I know you’re on Cloud 9 having both of your boys home!
I am Kathy! 😀 I think the last time we were all together was Christmas 2010!
Aaaawww, poor Bailey, I hope he feels better soon! What a busy week you had! Your book club sounds like a lot of fun! Have a great Christmas celebration with Brad!
We do have a lot of fun Amy. We are a rather large group (currently 16) so we have to go the extra mile to keep everyone engaged 😀
You know, I thought you were just playing when it comes to the bra burning! 🙂 What book did you guys discuss?
LOL -actually did it. I asked the girls to bring an old bra to the meeting if they wanted to partake. 😀
The book was Henry’s Sisters and the first line in the book is about burning a bra.
Our deck is much the same, except it is pine needles:) Poor Bailey, hope she has a speedy recovery. And, I would of loved to throw today’s bra into your fire (wire was poking me)>LOL
Diane Baily is doing wonderful thank you. Yeah the under wires didnt burn, you could see them in the fire… I tried to get a pic but they didnt show up. 😀
Those cupcakes look yummy!
Mmmm hmmmmm… I agree 😀
The bra burning sounds WONDERFUL. My neighbors would probably call the fire dept. and then there would be so explaining to do. Great shots.
LOL – we have a good size piece of property Irene… I don’t think the neighbors saw me…. 😀
I hope….
J/K 😛
Ha. I think it’s hysterical you enacted a bra burning. That would have been fun!
It was a memory Louise 😀
