Good morning. Life as of late has been…
a learning experience.
I would like to say that it has been hard…. and that would be true… but I also have to admit that I am learning through this…. and growing through this… in positive ways.
One thing that has been made abundantly clear this past week is that I am not alone. People everywhere are dealing with pain and while it is not the same as mine – it is just as real and just as painful to each person.
On a lighter note… I am having a pretty low key weekend here and loving it. Yesterday, I didnt even leave the house. Cleaned a little, slept a little, and caught up on some much needed down time after a fairly busy week and returning from Honduras last weekend.
Today, for Saturday Snapshot I thought I would post a few more of the pics from my week in Honduras:

Alyce from At Home With Books hosts this meme. Stop over and see what others are posting for Saturday Snapshots!

I’m sorry you’re struggling and hope you find comfort soon. The flowers are gorgeous!
Thank you Kathy – I will make it through this too…. 😀
I think that is the first time I seen a Bird Of Paradise in real life 🙂
I hope that you reach a place of comfort and peace….and I LOVE the photos. Especially the Birds of Paradise flowers and those awesome steps.
Thanks for sharing.
Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT and
MY WEBSITE
Sure Laurel 🙂 I am happy to share them…
I love Birds of Paradise flowers! And those steps are wonderful. I’d bet they’re slick when it rains.
I didnt think about that (slickness) but I bet you are right. They were really big too, this wasn’t like baby steps… it was more like Elliptical workout. 😛
I’m sorry you’re having a hard time. Those steps look tricky – great photos.
Thank you Margaret…. 🙂
Lizards at restaurants huh? That’s different. 🙂 I love the colorful photos!
Theres something about Honduras Alyce… it is vibrant with color.
I was hoping “lizard” was not on the menu…. 😛
Birds of paradise really do look like birds. I hope you have a relaxing weekend.
Thanks Lisa – I really have… I had a nap yesterday and today…. I hope this doesnt become a habit…. 😛
Love the one with lizard, looks great framed by the fret.
LOL – I could not get my camera between the bars… not… did I really want to! 😆
I’ve said it before but such a lush country. I could easily get used to that climate. Lovely photos.
Whenever I get upset about something I have to kick myself and remember that life isn’t perfect and that there are many people that have so many more challenging problems than mine. Hope your day is a good one today. 🙂
Thanks Leslie…. I know that is true. 🙂
Great photos, hope you feel better soon.
Thanks Irene. 🙂
Love the pictures. Those stairs are so worn, they must have been used for a long time.
I hope your life grows a bit less hard and becomes a good learning experience.
I love the stairs! 😀
I hope the restaurant doesn’t offer the creepy lizard thing as an entree.
Beautiful photos, Sheila. I hope you find some peace real soon.
LOL Kay e- I thought the same thing… 😀
Love all the different bright colors of the flower and town. I’d like to walk up those stairs!! Great exercise!
Vicki my legs actually hurt the day after I climbed these! Thats embarrassing! 😀
I love those steps, though I doubt I’d be able to climb them… I’m afraid of heights!
The view was beautiful from the top Nikki-ann, you could see the whole town!
Those photos are stunning Sheila. The Bird of Paradise is awesome, but then so aren’t all the others. I’d break my neck on those slick stairs….yikes. Hope u r finding some pain relief.
Thanks Diane 🙂
I love those steps, they just make me want to climb them to see where they go! Sorry that you are struggling.
I did climb them Jill and they were amazing! Thanks for your kind words 🙂
Love your pictures, especially of the steps! And I hope that knowing you are not alone helps in dealing with the pain. Sending more hugs to you and your boys!
Thank you …. I know I am not alone 🙂
I love the pictures especially of the steps and birds of paradise. I’m keeping you in my thoughts.
Thank you 🙂
the birds of paradise are breathtaking and i especially love the symbolism of the stairs
take care – i will be praying for you
Thank you Stacy 🙂
Not to be too overly presumptuous and/or philosophical here, but I can’t help but equate some aspects of that first photo with your preliminary statements. The trodden, eroded, time-worn steps — yet bordered with greenery, life responding to the sun.
The picture — the stoniness of it, together with whatever it is you are walking though [which is obviously none of my business] brings to mind an all-time favorite book of mine by M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Travelled.
The first sentence of which is, “Life is difficult.”
But get this… the book ends with these words:
“This time and space exists for us to travel through. When my patients lose sight of their significance and are disheartened by the work we are doing, I sometimes tell them that the human race is in the midst of making an evolutionary leap. ‘Whether or not we succeed in that leap,’ I say to them, ‘is your personal responsibility.’ And mine. The universe, this stepping stone, has been laid down to prepare a way for us. But we ourselves must step across it, one by one. Through grace we are helped not to stumble and through grace we know that we are being welcomed. What more can we ask?”
All the best to you.
Thank you, I appreciate the comment.
GORGEOUS pictures!! I especially like the first of the stairway. Looks like a wonderful trip.
It was Trish 🙂
Honduras certainly looks an interesting place. I hope playing with the pictures helped cheer you up.
That is a good thought Louise, and a true one… 😀
Steps up the side of the mountain intrigued me. They could be used as a metaphor for difficult times.
The bird of paradise plant is beautiful. Thanks for sharing all of these pics.
The more people mention the steps as symbolic.. the more I think I just need to make that my screen saver…. 😀
Take the hill out of the equation, and I could be looking at south Florida! Right down to the iguana! (We found ourselves surprised by a four-foot iguana while at one of our local parks a couple of years ago. The thing scrambled up on the walking bridge we were on to escape an alligator.)
LOL – I suppose so!
The steps are beautiful. I wonder how long they’ve been there and who carved them out of the mountain. I also love Bird of Paradise. I always wish you the best, Sheila.
Thank you Barbara 🙂
Those mountain steps are really cool. I’m glad you shared it – it is something I would have taken a photo of, too!
Happy Thanksgivings!
Thank you Care 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
I love the Bird of Paradise, they are so beautiful. I just noticed the other day that Walmart sells them in silk. I thought that was kind of odd for this area!
That is odd!
