Hello and welcome to another fun addition of It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I love being a part of this and I hope you do too! As part of this weekly meme I love to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme. I offer a weekly contest for those who visit 10 or more of the Monday Meme participants and leave a comment telling me how many you visited. **You do not have to have a blog to participate! You receive one entry for every 10 comments, just come back here and tell me how many in the comment area.

This past week was BBAW (Book Blogger Appreciation Week). This is a great week to celebrate those of us who chat books and review books doing this crazy blog thing 😛 I truly had a BLAST this week but between work, BBAW, and evening commitments almost every night…. by the end of the week I had not posted one book review ( however a book discussion), and hardly read a thing. 😯
Here is what was posted last week:
My BBAW Interview Swap with the awesome and amazing Lu from Regular Rumination
BBAW Post: How Do I DO Community? (You may have asked how I do so much in life and still find time to blog… here is my response 😀
BBAW Post: Advice on what works… and what I would like to try
Bookies Review Of The Postmistress by Sarah Blake and the food we served
with it
Back by popular demand… the Word Shakers on line read a long has beentweaked, and updated and a book has been chosen!
Banned Books Weeks is coming!!! Jump On The Banned Wagon With Me!!!
So as you see…. my week was very BBAW. 😀
As for this week… I think I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. After a HUGE start to September at work, it looks like these next two weeks will slow down a bit. I currently have in too many hours for the month so I am taking an extra day off each of the next two weeks to get my hours back where they should be… this means… I get to get my exercise back on track, and my reading and reviewing. AHHHHH…. feels so good…
I am not going to give myself a heavy week as I have much to catch up on from the past couple of weeks… but, always the optimist…. here is what I hope to touch on:

Yes, yes, yes… I have been talking about this book for weeks and yes… it has been in my home since the first week of June….. so this is what I would call a PRIORITY READ this week. (I also just picked it up on audio so I may listen to it, depending on which way my time frame goes… 😛
This one was given to me by my friend Millie (*waves*). She knows me sooo well…. this type of book is right up my alley as I have such a heart for kids in crisis.

I recently read a review on this book, entered a contest, and then won the book. It arrived at my house yesterday. Normally a book does not have this amazingly quick turn around but I loved the review and 9-11 is still pretty fresh in my mind from the anniversary last week.

I am currently in the second book in this series and LOVING IT! If all goes as I hope… I will have this series finished out by the end of this week and will be dancing around to tell you about it.
I think I am good with audio this week as I have one finishing up in the jeep, but have another waiting that I has started and need to finish, the one in the house I started today and my IPOD still has a bit to go with In The Woods.
Now I really want to know what you are reading this week! Please add your Monday What Are You Reading post to the link below where it says Click Here.

Look at you, powering through the Chaos Walking books! So glad to hear you’re loving the second one, too.
I know right? 😛 LOVING THEM! Did I already say that?
Wow, these books must be GOOD! Looks like a great week ahead for you!
Really good Laurel… I am hoping to complete them in the next couple of days 🙂
I wish, wish, wish I could start on the Chaos Walking series, at the moment I have too many review books lol. Glad you’re having a few more days off and hope you get some catch-up time in there.
Happy reading 🙂
I wish you could too Sheree, but I will be excited to see you thoughts when you do.
I’m jealous of your week! Night Circus and No Longer a Slumbdog both look great! Have a good week.
I am hoping too Rachel 😀 You enjoy your week too!
I am so excited to read The Night Circus! I don’t think my library even has it in yet, but hopefully soon. Now I’m off to check out the Word Shakers thing and what you thought of The Postmistress. Enjoy your week!
Thanks Jen! 😀
Such a nice mix of books here. Enjoy them all.
Thanks Mystica!
Ohhhh, yes. I’m so, so excited to read The Night Circus! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
I am excited too!! 😀
I didn’t start the Chaos Walking series yet, I totally need to make room for it soon though!
Yes you do 😀
Great reading list for the week. I recently read THAT DAY IN SEPTEMBER for my anniversay post and yeah, it’s definitely a memorable read. It doesn’t go too into the events that they become overly graphic but it certainly puts you in the midst of this man’s life as he saw things unfold that day. Be prepared….the ending (his reflections that is) are quite moving….
Thanks Gina… I am looking forward to it as well 🙂
I have No Longer a Slumdog but haven’t read it yet and In the Woods is one of those that I have checked out from the library twice and never got to it before it was due. I really want to read it because I’ve heard it’s good. Your review just might be the deciding factor of whether I’ll try to check it out a third time.
Angie, I started the No Longer A Slumdog at church (LOL) I was early and that’s where Millie has given it to me…. it really started out well and reminds me a lot of Kite Runner and the movie Slumdog.
I am listening to The Woods on audio and getting into it. I am on part 2 of 3 so we will see… seems like I have a lot of audio left and wonder what will keep it going. 😀
Oh, you know I’m so excited for you to read The Monsters of Men! It’s stunning! I think you will really enjoy it. And I’m really curious about The Night Circus, I’ve been online with their new interactive website and it’s made me want to pick up the book. So, I can’t wait to hear about your thoughts on both books!
Have a fabulous reading week!!! 🙂
Danielle I did not know about the interactive website… now I am a bit fascinated 😀
I need some good quality book time and I think this week I will get it 😀
Oh! You should check it out! I’m interested to see how it works with the book. Here’s the link:

You have to sign in using your Twitter or Facebook ID, but it doesn’t post anything unless you tell it to. I’ve been having a lot of fun on it. 🙂
Hi
This is my first time participating in your meme. I have been busily hopping around visiting everyone’s posts. So far I have visited 18 🙂
The Night Circus is everywhere at the moment, I’ll be interested to see what you think!
Shelleyrae @ book’d Out
Yay!! So glad you have you here 😀 I cant wait to get into Night Circus… I have patiently waited for far too long! 😀
You have such a great choice of books this week!
Happy reading 🙂
Thanks 😀
These all look awesome. Have a great reading week.
Thanks Medeia!
I keep seeing The Night Circus all over…I need to look into this one! Have a great week!
Thanks Kristen – you too 🙂
I need to find my copy of The Color Purple for the Banned book week. I heard it was on the list of challenged/banned books (I wonder if it was mainly in certain states?). I remember it as being a great book, masterfully written. A shame to be on the list, but then seems like making it onto the banned book list is almost as good as a P.R. campaign. I know I’m always curious about banned books, tempted to buy them just because they were listed. LOL.
I’m looking forward to hearing your opinion of Night Circus – love the cover.
Oh you will love The Color Purple… I read it last year and adored it and the movie is fantastic too! And yes, it is a banned book.
Not much reading last week, as I too was very busy with BBAW.
It was well worth the time and effort everyone put into it.
have a great week
carol
I think so too Carol… I had a blast with BBAW
Sheila, I love your new blog look! Hoping you enjoy the Night Circus as much as I did.
Thanks Diane… I do too 😀 I am so excited about the Night Circus!
I am reading The Night Circus too…loving it so far!
Oh good Lisa!!! I cant wait!
I have heard nothing but good things about The Night Circus!
Me too Marg, from the moment I dfirst heard of it in May I knew I wanted it. 😀
I have had Night Circus on my Wishlist for ages – so it is nice to see it getting so much press! Hope you enjoy!
Thanks Kay 😀
Ooo, I hope you love The Night Circus as much as I did!
I think I will Meg.. 😀
Looks good! Here’s mine http://peggyannspost.blogspot.com/2011/09/sheila-over-at-book-journey-host-this.html
Hi Peggy 😀
I’ve heard good things about In the Woods – can’t wait to hear what you think of it! Very busy here, too. I need to go read that blog post of yours on how you manage to fit in so much blogging in a busy life!
Enjoy your books this week –
Sue
Thanks Sue, BBAW was fun and I try to share what works for me.. even as crazy as my life is.

Thanks Amanda 🙂
Sheila I finally did it..visited and commented on 10 other blogs! Please enter me in the drawing. Do I need to list the ten blog’s names?
YAY Peggy – no need for a list this is a complete honor system challenge 😀
Loved THE NIGHT CIRCUS, I hope you do too!
I actually posted my first What Are You Reading in a Looooong time. sorry I’ve been missing on the meme. Good to be back!
Happy Reading!!
Welcome back Alison – I am always glad to have hang out time with you 😀
i just learned the first of the Ness books is waiting on the hold shelf at the library. i ordered it on my husband’s card as i’ve about tapped mine out.
I’m going to have to accept that most of the books flowing in over the next month or so are mostly just to get my hands on them, to flip through them, dip in, get a feel etc. I can’t hope to read them all in the allotted time especially since many won’t renew for me. 3 weeks and that’s it for weeks or months.
I’ve ordered Owen Meany and hope to join Word Shakers. And whoa that would make a most wordilicious blog name!
My IMWAYR
I think I need to get my hubby a card so I can max out his….LOL 😀
Oh yay!!! It would be awesome to have you join me for Own Meany!
Oooh, The Night Circus sounds great! 😀 I can’t wait to see what you think of it Sheila! 😀
I hope you have an awesome week, and that you enjoy all your books. 😀
I think it is going to be a really big deal Ambur…. I really hope I get to it this week 😀
I want to read all you books this week!! Took me so long to do my post today with Amazon shutting down the link gadget in Blogger and have to make, format and try to get them close to where I wanted them in my post, lol. Plus my NASCAR race was rained out yesterday and just started on tv so I am multitasking, 🙂
Hope you have a wonderful week!!!
What? Amazon shut down the link gadget? Whats that about? 😯
Cabt wait to stop by and see what cozy’s you have happening this week Lori – you are queen of the cozy’s! 😀
22 visits to mostly new blogs. Where did this day slip away to so fast. Grandma duty is calling already.
Nice job! There are a few newbies today!
I really commend you for all the time you make for the book blogging community! I have been having a hard time keeping up lately, but I hope to have more time soon. Sigh. Never enough time.
Thank you Dixie… it is usually feast or famine for me but I really like to be engaged. 😀
You have some good ones on your list to read this week. I hope you enjoy them! I’ve made it around to 10 blogs this week. I rarely remember to come back and tell you so figured I’d do it before commenting. 🙂 Have a great week!
Nice job Julie! I am doing good this week to and may actually get around to everyone which will be the first time in quite a while!
Linky list down 😦
WHA??? Oh good grief…..
*putting on overalls…. climbing into linky and pounding on it with a hammer*
did you swap that gremlin, lol
I did…. he is gone for now. 😛
I couldn’t get Linky to open either – I thought it was the cruise iffy internet. Looks like you had a good BBAW week. I will have lots of posts to read when I get back.
Here is my post:
http://marthasbookshelf.blogspot.com/2011/09/its-monday-what-are-you-reading_19.html
I added your link Martha. I still have BBAW posts to read too.. 😀
That Day in September is a really memorable read – I’m sure it will make an impression. Linky Tools diesn’t seem to be working for me today (I’m on a mobile), so here’s my post:
http://sophiasbookblog.blogspot.com/2011/09/its-monday-what-are-you-reading_19.html
Thanks Sophia, I king of thumbed through it last night… looks like it will be a short read with lots of power to it.
Hi! Great choices; I have 2 on my TBR list. I couldn’t get the Mr. Linky to work today, so here is my link to my post http://thebestobooks.blogspot.com Thanks! Rae
Thanks Rae – I went in and got lInky working again… I added you and the above links as well to the list 😀
That Day in September was so very good! Good reading!
Thanks Bev… I think so too.
I’m really looking forward to reading Night Circus. Hope it lives up to the hype I’ve been hearing! 🙂
I think it will Sami – I am seriously considering it on audio first 🙂
The Night Circus is most definitely going on my wishlist… I’ve heard so many great things about it this past week or so. Everyone seems to be raving about it.
I was lucky enough to be offered a review copy of That Day In September by Artie himself and I’m glad I read it. It’s an interesting insight into one man’s story of that day and beyond.
P.S. – Thanks for taking the time to drop by my blog and comment. I hope you enjoy Agent 6. Have you read the first two books in the trilogy?
Hi NIkki-Ann… I have not read him but was encouraged to read Child 44… is that part of the series?
Seeing The Night Circus all over the place! Hope you like it.
This is my 11th comment in the It’s Monday world!
Have a good week!
Hi Joy – you enjoy your week too… I have been blogging all day… I need to get outside for awhile… take a walk with my IPOD 🙂
Audio! Audio! Jim Dale reads the audio and I’m so excited. I think I HAVE to listen to it. Even though I’ve had an ARC of it on my shelf for at least a month.
Just to clarify for anyone confused, I’m talking about The Night Circus. In fact, I have an audible credit so I should go use it on that.
Also, I really want to read That Day in September, so I’m looking forward to your thoughts.
I know!!! I have to finish the audio I am listening to now so I can move on to the Night Circus….SSQQUUEEE!!! 😛
I got Night Circus today! I got Night Circus today! Am I yelling? Sorry. See how I am?
Wow! I heard you before I logged on to the internet Nancy! LOL!!! SWEET!!!! Read it right away! 😀
I am trying to read Night Circus, it really isn’t something I would usually read but since it was sent to me I thought I would give it a try. I am not really that far into it so there is hope for it, just not sure yet….lol
I havent started yet…. I am basically raving on a book over hearsay…. LOL 😀
Hi Sheila! I’m yet to receive that email from you. I’m not sure if you’ve already emailed and I haven’t received it but if you could pls email me that’d be great…thank you!
Thank you Angelica – my head is going twenty different directions 😀 Going into it now 😀
It’s ok thanks heaps! I received it…so fast 😉
Oh awesome! I was going to email you to make it got there 😀
Isn’t it neat how Ness added Viola as a narrator in the second book? Wait til you get to the third one!!!
I do really like that Jenners… starting the third yet this week I hope… I have one I have to read next for a review this Friday… but then…onward!
