Good Morning! 😀
Coming in a little late but that is a good thing from this neck of the woods. Hubby and I are currently in Finland, Minnesota at our cabin. This is where he grew up. It was originally supposed to be us and friends but they had to cancel and we decided to come up alone and enjoy the cabin. We do not do this nearly enough….
I came up yesterday afternoon by jeep with the dogs, Elmo and Bailey. Al (hubby) followed a couple of hours after by motorcycle so we could tool around over the weekend. We have no internet service at the cabin (for that matter, no cell phone service either) so this morning I come to you live from a small cafe in Silver Bay Minnesota. My destination was the Silver Bay Library but they are closed for the holiday weekend.
I thought I would participate this morning in Saturday Snapshots by posting pics of the trip so far…. which mainly.. has been road trip….

I wont be in “internet range” long. I abandoned hubby who was still lounging around the TV when I left with the promise I would not be gong too long. I still need to finish my review to go live here in a few hours as well. We are planning a motor cycle ride this afternoon, maybe into Two Harbors or up towards Grand Marais. Either way – looks to be a lovely start to the official end of summer.
Oh – and yes I am reading – can you guess what it is?
My hint is: “Sheep! Sheep!” 😉

I bet your babies love going up there! They’re adorable!
Thanks Kathy – they love to “go for a ride” Elmo (the black one) is 14 now, deaf, and doesn’t get excited about too much anymore but still loves the trip. 😛
Adorable dogs! And what a beautiful destination…hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT
Thanks Laurel – I think it will be a nice break to start off September.
Enjoy your weekend at the cabin.
What understanding partners we have. My partner has just been informed I need to blog 🙂
carol
LOL Carol – I had to confess to mine what I was going to do. I told him I would be back in an hour… he asked where I was going, I said to find internet. 😛
Have a great time and enjoy that togetherness with the hubby 😀
Its rare this time of year Stacy – we both get so busy 😀
Your little doggies are so adorable! I love little dogs. We have a lab but I grew up with a maltese poodle. I hope to get another little dog someday.
Hmm, “Sheep” – I’m thinking something by Patrick Ness? 🙂
LOL – “Dong ding ding!” We have a winner. 😀 I am reading The Knife Of Never Letting Go…. and whoa….. LOVING it!
What a great way to spend a weekend. Those pups look sooo excited lol ‘when are we there??’
They love the cabin but I think for my older one (Elmo) it is getting a bit long to go there… he is 14 now. 😀
So sweet!
Enjoyed looking at the photographs!
Here is my Saturday Snapshot post!
Thanks 🙂
Sounds very relaxing. You must be a little bit relieved that your friends bailed. No pressure!
LOL – no not relieved – I love spending time with them…. this is just an alternative plan – and it is awesome too 😀
Little Bo Peep? Baa Baa Black Sheep? A Serta advertising leaflet? I give up. WHAT are you reading? Have fun in Silver Bay! We enjoyed our stay there last week.
LOL – I have just discovered Patrick Ness (expect gushing at Bookies!) 😀 The first book in the series is The Knife Of Never Letting Go…. review this week.
LOVE the North Shore!
Nice bike! The only time I enjoy riding on the motorcycle is when we are away from civilization. In the city I get stressed out by the traffic and crazy drivers.
I do love my bike Leslie… unless of course youmean Al’s motorcycle…LOL 😛
We got back from an internet free vacation late last night. I took along my laptop, but our condo didn’t have access and I didn’t want to miss beach time or boardwalk time looking for a place to log in. Have fun! Everyone needs a break sometimes.
Welcome back! Internet free is not a bad thing, but yes, I too took Asus (new laptop) along with…. like a security link to me life…LOL
Your babies are precious. Love ALL the photos Sheila.
Thanks Diane 😀
I like Grand Marais, we were there for 2 days a couple of years ago in the fall, then we made our way down to Duluth. Very pretty and so relaxing. Enjoy your vacation!
Its a great part of Minnesota Christa – I tend to take for granted this quiet part of the world… all woodsy and trees and occasionally no cell phone service…. 😀
Elmo and Bailey are sooooo cute! Love that last picture where they’re getting restless.
I have a picture of the Silver Creek Tunnel too! We went that way to the Boundary Waters for a Boy Scout Adventure Trip.
Here’s mine: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2011/09/saturday-snapshot-september-3.html
Thanks Bev – we dont have many places we can tale them along so this trip is always a treat for them. 😀
Cute dogs! My baby loves going for rides too!
Thanks Vicki 😀
Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing. Have a lovely visit!
Thank you Martha – I hope to get reading in 😀
Those are the cutest faces one could be sharing a car with and waking up next to.
LOL – yeah they are pretty awesome Esme 😀
OK, my guess is that you’re reading The Autobiography of the Counting Sheep from Serta Mattress Co. by Number One with very little help from the other sheep.
Love your dogs. They’re soooo cute.
Great guess Barbara but I am actually reading The Knife Of Never Letting Go which turns out to be fantastic!! 😀
