Good morning! I am sitting here with COFFEE CUP this morning reflecting over the past week.
It was… a good one.
On Tuesday we had our annual Queen Event for Book Club, on Thursday I went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter… the final movie.

I think that is a pretty good week. 😛
This morning I reflected a bit on my yard. I love love love my back yard. So for The Saturday Snapshot over at Alyce’s At Home With Books, I went around this morning with the camera…

As for my weekend… today I have planned to finish the lawn, finish a book. Hubby and I may go for a motorcycle ride later, or a movie. Tomorrow I am doing the Tour Of Saints bike ride with my friend Amy, the first bike ride since my accident in early June. I am excited to get back on track.
Any fun weekend plans? I would love to hear what you are doing this weekend in your corner of the world! 😛

I don’t think you’re ever without your camera! Good luck with your bike ride.
That is true – I carry it in my purse – 24/7. You just never know where a photo op might be… 😛
Everything looks so green and lush..unlike here in Texas where the grass is brown and the trees look all dehydrated and droopy.
We have had a lot of rain Lisa. Our lakes are really high here too right now.
I love the look of those apples. If we had them here, they would be all dried up. Lovely yard, Sheila and your deck looks so inviting. Also loved reading about your book group and the yearly dress up session. We’re going to see the HP movie on Monday evening. We’re watching part 1 again just to get in the mood. I had forgotten how kind of dull it was (in a way). I’m definitely anticipating the ramping up of the action in the new movie. Then we’re done. Kind of sad.
OOH enjoy the movie Kay. I will have to go again a second time to let it all sink in 🙂
It is sad… I feel it too.
You do have a lovely yard. 🙂 Be careful on your bike ride today. Have a great weekend!
Thanks Michelle. I have been practicing in my driveway 😀
Your yard and deck make me drool with envy! But then I remember when I had both, and I used to moan about how much work it all was! LOL
Thanks for sharing, and enjoy your day!
It can be a lot of work Laurel – if you notice the shrubbery has grown up by the steps to the deck. Normally I am a crazed woman with the clippers but with the cast and the weakness in both wrists right now – I dont have the strength.
Hubby is going to have to get on this this year 🙂
Those apples look gorgeous! I’m trying to convince hubby we need an apple tree.
Goodness, be careful on your bike ride tomorrow!
I will be careful Beth 😀
Yes, you need an apple tree.
All best wishes for your bike ride tomorrow.
Those apples look delicious!
carol
Thanks Carol it is suppose to be 92 degrees tomorrow!
Have a fun week end…it is always nice to have a respite…a quiet place to read…and be careful getting back up on that bike!!!
This is our first week end home after Woodstock and the Berkshires…and although we had fun errands to run and were going to go out to dinner…we opted for a Stay At Home Saturday..laptops, Kindles, watering gardens…and freaking out before our bathroom is ripped out on Monday…
I LOVE stay at home Saturdays! Enjoy!
Your yard is so beautiful! Northern apples are one thing I miss so much about living in Wisconsin. They’re just not the same here.
Thanks Amanda – I have to mow the lawn, otherwise there would have been more yard pictures! 😛
Your backyard is so lovely, Sheila! Happy Saturday honey!
Thanks Rebecca – enjoy your Saturday too 🙂
How great that you’re getting back to riding! Your back yard is lovely! I’ve wanted to plant apple trees (especially since I grew up near an orchard and with trees on our property too), but we haven’t gotten around to it. I just have visions of our very unintelligent dog eating them all off the ground and making herself sick.
Alyce, growing up on this property we had many apple trees – mostly crab apple but a few of the larger variety. Mom and I used to pick them for jelly and apple butter.
The years have taken most of them – some just died, one was hit by lightning, and I lost three in the tornado of 2001.
It is fun to start my own growing and to see them producing! 😀
I saw the Harry Potter movie, too! So much fun. It didn’t occur to me to take a photo of my ticket though. Duh!
LOL – it was actually my son who posted his tickets on Facebook – he paid more than me and I thought this too is a memory! 😀
What a wonderful bunch of photos! Who wouldn’t want to be a Book Queen?
The number of times that I haven’t had a camera on me and wished I did is the only thing that tempts me towards getting a cell phone that does more than make phone calls. My digital camera is too big to lug around everyday….
We love our Queen event Bev! 😛
I carry a big purse to accommodate two things I never leave home without – my camera, and a book 😀
My apple tree doesn’t make apple that nice. Mine have all kinds of little marks on them. Do you have to spray them for bugs? Beautiful deck… mine is a favorite place to read also.
Have a good ride. 🙂
Hi Leslie! No I have never sprayed the apple trees. Never thought about it but have not had a big problem either. I had a deer in the yard last week eating the berries off my cherry tree but I have nver done anything with those anyway…. 😀
Good luck with the bike ride! I’ve bought myself a new bike and I’m hoping to ease myself back into cycling.
I’m having a quiet weekend as I’m off to Edinburgh on Monday for a few days.
OOH a new bike!!!!
Enjoy the weekend! 😀
Looks so inviting! I’d spend most my time outside on that deck with a good book on cool days!
Here’s My Snapshot
Thats what I love to do Vicki – there just seems to be so little time to just relax into a good read.
Oohh those apples will be great in the fall! Do you cook them up in pies or sauce? or just eat them fresh?
I have eaten these off this tree Trish but the crab apple trees I make apple butter out of. At least I used to. The last few years I have been a little too busy but I really should do it again.
Ooh, I am so jealous of those apple trees! Apples in FL cost a fortune!
Your deck looks like the perfect reading oasis – so serene. Enjoy your summer!
Thanks Kaye 😀
I’m not surprised you love your backyard. It looks such a beautiful and green haven.
It really is Cat and I love how quiet it is back there.
I love the Queen Ball photo; how fun.
We do have a blast with that event Diane 😀
Your deck and yard look like a really great spot for reading! Quite cozy.
I love it out there Dixie 😀
Lovely deck and yard! I’d love to have an apple tree. Very nice photos.
Thanks Marie 🙂
