Morning Meanderings…

By the time most of you are reading this I will be on the road (4:30 am) heading to Maplewood Minnesota about two and a half hours away to ride in the MS bike ride with several of my friends.

So why why why am I going?  Great question… the weather has been so annoying this year and I already missed out on last weekends ride due to rain and cold.  The bummer is that the rest of the team riding all live in the cities area… I am the only one coming from Brainerd and the drive is half the battle.

I have to be back by 5:00 pm tonight so I need to make great time, driving, biking, driving again.

It has been several weeks since I have been able to participate in Alyce’s Snapshop Saturday but yay for current and upcoming events that provide me with pictures!  😀

This is our Thursday Womens Kickboxing Group

So that’s me… I am out!  Have an awesome Saturday and if it is raining and you are not bike riding 😉  you should definitely enjoy a little reading.  😛

    1. No rain at all Hannah – I could not have asked for better riding weather…. as I drove closer tot he start I actually started getting excited about the ride which was nice…. rain makes it feel more like a commitment than fun. 😀

  1. The weather in the midwest has been horrible this year. If it’s any comfort, you aren’t alone in being miserable in outdoor activities. I’ve hiked through snow, ice, rain and mud this year on bird walks. I’m hoping for sun and warm next weekend for International Migratory Bird Day. Hahahahaha.

Nice group shot of the ladies in boxing gloves.I bet that is fantastic exercise.

    1. I am hearing that all over…. well, almost – Esme and laurel are constantly telling me of their nice weather, I think they are both in California.

I can not wait for wonderful weather…..

Oh yeah – I love kickboxing – I do not sweat much in a regular work out but kickboxing takes me right to the showers.

  2. Your kickboxing group looks too friendly to be tough. Good exercise. Hope the biking is not too wet. I actually got to mow part of the yard yesterday and planned to do more this afternoon but I see the rain clouds moving in. Oh well, good excuse to read.

  3. Hi Sheila,
Wow…what a fun post. How did the MS Bike ride go?

My name is Shanae and I just took over the 400 Fitness Challenge for Ellie. I am excited to get to know you. I am looking forward to having you check in with your miles. Don’t worry … you have until next Friday to check in for this week.

I am changing things just a little. It is always easier to stay motivated if you know you have a supportive group behind you. I would like to turn this Fitness Challenge into a supportive group to help people stay motivated, so I am going to do what G-man does for writers on his Flash 55 blog posts. I will post my miles and a fitness question on Saturdays. Please write a post answering the fitness challenge question or let us know how your week went and then leave me a comment so I know you are ready for a visit. I will visit everyone who leaves me a comment. You can also visit as many other participants as you can.

Click here to let me hear from you.

    Cheers,
    Shanae

  4. Hope the bike ride went well. Some rain can add a certain… something to a ride. I’m sure with the right people, it’s fun, whatever the weather.

I rode for about 1.5 hours yesterday – we had lots of sun – you should have had our weather.

  5. I hope your bike ride went well yesterday. Here, the day started out really sunny and promising. I went to the store around noon and remember thinking how beautiful the day was and it was nice and warm. Shortly after I got back, I looked out the window and it was pouring rain. Typical of spring I guess.

    1. Christina we are having the same thing here…. little sun, lots of rain… it is really discouraging to someone like me who loves this time of year to be outside, biking and blading and reading on the deck.
